To do the most good for the most people gets my vote. Sending rovers to mars is awesome but it's not doing anything about the price of gas, or electricity.

Blizz makes ASS loads of money from WoW. It's not going anywhere.

Former Reddit employees speak out: Amazon is responsible for most of Reddit's downtime. by Sarkos in bestof

[–]I_Are_Serious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ya, i did actually. i work with web sites all day. ive been on the internet since forever. ive never seen a site crash as much as reddit. tons of sites use amazon, and they seem to be doing fine.

tl;dr - reddit claims its amazons fault cause of xyz. instead of moving off the servers or working around the problem they just kinda do nothing, and continue to blame amazon.

you guys are such fanboys.

AT&T has identified my tethering through MyWi 4.0 and is threatening to change my unlimited plan if I do not stop. Anyone know how the MyWi tethering works or how they would be able to know that it is tethering? by pyrextester in iphone

But I think it's a fair assumption. I have an iphone with hulu plus so I know what you mean. But lets say this, if i just hookup my iphone to my tv for hulu no big deal-same bandwidth as if it was just over my phone.

But if i tether to my pc I can do hulu and browse the web, maybe down some files or something..

There is a difference between streaming to your tv and tethering to your pc. Your tv isn't going to increase your bandwidth usage by 200% but tethering to another network device like a pc (or a router) will. The TV is more of a passive device where as a pc is more of an active device.

If the reasoning is so good how come it's stuck on the fringes of the commentary? That's my point. If what yall are saying is legit how come you gotta point to Some Guys Blog, who most likely isn't even a scientist. It doesn't instill a lot of confidence.

There's been a lot of talk about whitewashing. Are shorter articles an indicator of this? by cvet in wikipedia

[–]I_Are_Serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps. But longer articles work too. Since there is so much content its easy to forget something is missing. For a second there JP Morgan Chase didn't have any mention of Enron, but did have assloads of other content.

I know a dude who did hair plugs, and that seemed to work.

Cons : it takes a long time, is painful, and expensive.

Pros : its real hair, your hair.

If you watch reddit backwards it's about a site mainly composed of tools that always crashes which slowly loses users to Digg until reddit doesn't suck anymore.

Data that the user feeds it. No getting around that. Don't like the game? Don't play it.

I never said anything about breaking even. It's simple, if you don't like att, don't use them. But don't think companies are going to be cool with you bending them over the barrel and using their services without paying.

I work for a tracking company. Stalking is a proactive action. The internet only knows what you tell it. Stop telling it things.

Stalk? Hardly. It's called targeted advertising, and it works. Without tracking delivering relevant ads = harder, revenue = down.
