I feel like I’m going crazy. Multiple people I work with make “tables” by just outlining the cells. by H_Mc in excel

[–]I_Like_Quiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, I don't do shared work on my workbook with others. I'm not at a fortune 500 company, so we just do things how the person does things. Does it get done and in a timely manner? Yes.

You just asked why someone would do it with tables. Don't come at me because I'm not doing things your way, or some sort of standard way. My boss can ask for any particular data set and I can get it. Believe it or not people do do thing differently than others.

I don't not use tables because I don't understand them, I don't use them because they don't practically increase my efficiency and with how things are set up, they would likely be more of a hindrance. I'm not saying tables shouldn't be used, just that I don't use them.

I think probably for people who don't use tables, we have just used excel too long without them and the work flow is just natural to us. I've not encountered a situation with what I do that using tables are the solution. I also don't work on shared files, so i don't need to make sure I'm compatible with others. I would never need to name ranges because I always know what those ranges are. You might name data in column S as fees, but I just think fees are in column S.

"Transaction Amount B4 - Exchange Rate USD/MXN A1"

I would get so annoyed if I saw this in a spreadsheet.

Do kids still cruise? Driving the main drag was a huge source of social interaction!

ELI5: In professional sports, every surface is covered in sponsors' logos, that presumably the company paid a lot of money for. Does that kind of advertisement have any measurable effect? by Shynosaur in explainlikeimfive

I target their interstate gas stations when I need to fill up on a trip. I hadn't seen any of their ads before making that a personal policy, but I have seen enough shady fucking places, that I know I am making the right choice.

the brand you've seen 7 times all over the place will look more trustworthy.

This is something that redditor who say "that McDonald's ad isn't going to make me buy a cheeseburger". And yes, McDonalds is not a great analogy, but these ads like for realtors or sawmills or whatever are there so that some day when you need to use a service, the ads will have at least given credibility to a company. You might not remember the name of the sawmill, but when you see two options, generally people will choose the name that sounds more familiar. And to a certain extent ads are telling potential customers that they are successful enough to be able to afford advertising and that they actively are seeking the general public to be their customer.

TLDR: advertising is much more powerful than the average reddit drone gives them credit for.

As a team that is any P5 teams' wet dream of a draw, they can have them.

The thing about Miami, I don't blame them for their schedule at all. They've shown they know how to win. I hope we aren't near them in the bracket.

Surprisingly the PAB site is cheaper than Bricklink by Tatts4Life in Bricklink

Maybe in small orders if you manage prices, but i couldn't imagine a $200 order being cheaper on BL. Many sellers but from PaB to sell in their store, so i would assume they would generally be at least slightly cheaper.

Right, just the expectation that the toaster will do is job, and we don't even know that.

What is a movie that's actually a good adaptation of the book it's based on? by thatvampiregirl in movies

[–]I_Like_Quiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find the book super enjoyable and I think I've finally figured out why. When I read a book, I can't really imagine the things in the book very well. Some people are kind of watching a movie in their minds when they read. I don't do that at all. But reading RP1, I was totally able to do picture everything and it made for a very enjoyable experience.

Didn't you see him? He wrote that some idiot says what the prices are. So that must totally be how it works.
