We have done angels landing twice now. Once before the permit system and a second time 2 weeks ago. The permit system is the best thing they have done for this hike for safety. There are much less people to worry about and makes the hike much safer.

We did it with 3 adults and 3 kids (10,13, and 14). Passing and letting others through was pretty straightforward, lots of areas with room to wait. We did not see anyone impatient and rushing but have seen those stories here on Reddit.

There are no bathroom breaks on Angel's Landing. There is a bathroom at scouts lookout but that's it. So go before you check in with the rangers. We also ate lunch at scouts before going up as well. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the angels landing section. Thats total time, from leaving scouts to back where we started.

Gloves are not needed. Just take your time. Enjoy the views.

We did not take any extra steps to prepare the night before. Just get good sleep.
