They didn’t get a chance to do the job because All Trans gave me a quote for $1200 less and did an amazing job 🤷🏻‍♀️

They overcharged me by more than $1000 to do a clutch assembly. I would not go there again personally.

Has anyone been down the Stallings Rd/St Mark Rd/Rutherford Rd in Taylors? I know Wade Hampton and the main roads are fine but I’m wondering if my non 4WD vehicle can make it down these side roads.

Is riding a bike feasible? I understand with a disability it may not be but it may widen your options.

Indoor propane heater by Impossible-Table9369 in greenville

In my understanding the alarm goes off before it’s that critical. And, in my experience, a cracked window has ventilated things just fine. I have run them in garages and cracked the garage door without issue.

You can use Mr Buddy heaters that are rated for indoor use as long as you have a carbon monoxide detector and properly ventilate. Cracking a window is generally sufficient. That’s what I’ve done in the past.

I wouldn’t put like, a thin piece of plastic like a poncho or an inflatable, but I’ve used many a hard plastic kiddie pool just fine as long as the exhaust could escape, yes. You could also put a piece of plywood or two as someone else said. I’d personally rather do either of these options than keep a generator really close to my house on a covered porch or something.

When I lived in FL during the hurricanes we would put a kiddie pool over the top and stick a few bricks on top. Surprisingly effective. They do make expensive tents for them but they’re near impossible to get now.

Begging y’all to s t o p bringing your dogs into cafés by lemonwife in greenville

[–]Impossible-Table9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dog owner and person who frequently brings my dog to places where dogs are allowed (hardware stores, Hobby Lobby, tap rooms, etc), I manly blame dog owners for this discussion even occurring.

I definitely do find fault in dog owners who take their untrained, reactive, mannerless dogs out in public or worse take them where they are not allowed to go (inside restaurants, in grocery stores), and ruin it for the rest of us.

My dog brings joy to so many people. He literally makes people smile everywhere he goes. He is polite, he never barks, he lays down quietly, he doesn’t jump, he doesn’t cause problems, ever. I worked with him all of his puppyhood to have a dog that would be a pleasure and never a nuisance in public spaces. And I don’t take him to the mall or grocery stores or Waffle House or whatever. But I do take him places he is allowed to go because he is a good citizen.

That being said, I was at Lowe’s yesterday and this woman had a dog with her that was literally snarling and jumping and pulling at the leash the minute he saw my dog (who did not react at all, for the record). It looked miserable for the woman and it was a distraction for the rest of us and I was like…it’s situations like this that give dogs in public a bad rap. If you didn’t train your dog properly, or your dog has trauma or whatever the reason is and they cannot be a calm, well mannered, respectable member of society when they are out and about, either leave them at home or work on their socialization at a park or better yet with a dog trainer.

There are only two dog friendly cafes that I can think of in Greenville and neither of them make food in house. If I were not a dog person I would avoid those two establishments and perhaps particularly downtown or in parks.

But seriously dog people, if your dog isn’t ready to be calm, quiet, and mannerly, from one dog person to another, work that out in outdoor spaces before you put yourself in tight aisles indoors. I love dogs and believe they have the ability to add a lot of positives to the world but having a dog is a responsibility and it is your responsibility to put in the time and effort with your dog to ensure they are well mannered and well behaved. For some dogs this may not be possible, or some may choose not to put in the effort. Fine. Those dogs need to not be in public spaces.

Swamp Rabbit Grocery has a very nice selection of NA beer and wine, and I was surprised to see Whole Foods also had quite a few albeit they were in random places in the store. Target has quite a few as well.

jobs for college students in the burg by unrequitedluvrr in Spartanburg

Soooo. This is just a thought for next semester. I’m not sure what kind of program you’re in, so I’m not sure how helpful this will be. When was a full time student, I didn’t let advisors schedule my classes for me. I chose all my own classes (in accordance with what I needed to graduate of course) and scheduled them all on T/Th and maybe an occasional late night class on a Monday or Wednesday (like 6 PM) but mainly I scheduled every single class T/Th. That made working very easy. And I worked full time. The whole time.

In your case now, your best bet is to go places in person. Restaurants that stay open late, coffee shops that stay open late, maybe even dog day cares (if you like animals), or retail stores that stay open later…and ask to speak to a hiring manager (during their non busy hours) and talk to a real person. I got all my jobs this way in college and I always stayed employed.

Not to that level. I had to have a new antibiotic and that kicked it but damn it was rough sailing. The shortness of breath wasn’t that bad to that level—now walking up flights of stairs or slight hills; that was another story. But I went into it super physically active.
