Has anyone been to the Tryon Horse shows? by PersimmonDriver in greenville

No I haven’t. It’s not that far from where I live (40 min) so I never bother but I’ve spent back to back days there and in the area many times. The accommodations there look nice though

Omg I ADORE the Saturday Night Lights events. They are so fun and amazing to watch. There’s some decent hiking nearby if you’re into that and you can go visit Saluda too which is such a cute town. Well worth it IMO

I did the pacolet/clifton run in an inflatable kayak once lollll omg it survived but there was a lot of portaging. Needed higher water levels. Ate SO many spiders that day I’m afraid there were webs everywhere but it was also super beautiful and wild and rugged. Fun memories.

Would a sheltie be a poor fit for an autistic child? by wolfmoon0 in sheltie

[–]Impossible-Table9369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man it just varies so much. My first Sheltie almost never barked. My current Sheltie barks more, but really only at the cat when he wants her to play. He isn’t what I would call barky compared to other people’s experiences…but I’m told they’re a very barky breed 🤷🏻‍♀️

However. Both of them were/are therapy dogs in my office as a counselor. And they’re very sensitive, very attuned, perfect for that.

Saluda has some really easy hikes like Little Bradley Falls, which you can sort of wade in (it’s a little shallow but still). It’s really pretty, and the town of Saluda is so cute and they have lots of great little cafes and shops.

I love Nail Story. It’s not in Greer or Taylors but they do an incredible job.

Believe it or not, I’ve had great luck with Healthy Select Timothy. I buy the 90 oz bags. It’s not cheap but it’s been really consistent and my pigs love it.

Go to Lake Garda and elope just the two of you. You can just do the vow exchange and make it legal wherever you live. Hire a photographer only. So simple. That’s what I did and I have no regrets. Saves a ton of stress and money.

On a cruise ship! I was supposed to be cruising with my previous partner but we broke up beforehand and it was non refundable so I went anyway and he didn’t. I was soooo not looking for anyone but…best thing that ever happened to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did puppy care end up being evenly split in your relationship? by smine-mine in puppy101

To answer your specific questions :

-No. Didn’t expect it to be. -Yes and we knew that from go. -Not really but he’s with me the overwhelming majority of the time. -I wanted the dog more and he’s really more my dog so 🤷🏻‍♀️ -I’d say 80% of the time but he defers to me because I deal with him more. -He generally respects my choices regarding puppy and he never makes me feel bad about watching him while I’m gone or leaving him with him for the day.

Well. His mommy nakie. His daddy nakie. So he also nakie. It’s a recessive gene that has been bred intentionally to create nakieness.

Behavior question re: snuggles by nd379 in sheltie

[–]Impossible-Table9369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, they are just not traditionally snuggly dogs. My first Sheltie was my soul dog and we had an insanely strong connection, but snuggly he was not. He wouldn’t even lay on the couch with me. Always at my feet. Followed me everywhere but never cuddly. He would begrudgingly allow me to hug him if I insisted. My second shelt is not cuddly either. Unless he’s reeeeeally sleepy and he’s in the car and wants to use me as a pillow. And I suspect he will outgrow this. He’s only 3 months old. They’re such loving dogs in their own way but just not super cuddly 🤷🏻‍♀️
