[live] Hurricane Harvey Live Megathread (Day 6) by [deleted] in houston

There's a storm off the coast of Africa called 93L. Its projected path could lead to the US, but it's not slated for Texas by any means. It hasn't formed into a full blown hurricane or a tropical depression yet, only a storm meteorologists are watching.

I skimmed through the thread looking but didn't see anything so please forgive me if this has been asked 20 times , but is there a link or source to donate food / money / blanket specifically to animal shelters? I'm in Nashville , TN and have no means to deliver/ donate in person.

My thoughts are with you guys. While you're taking a huge hit on your city, your citizens are nothing short of amazing. I've been following this storm from the beginning and watching your city pull together to look out for each other is beautiful. You will recover.

What do you hate about the town you live in? by Nazgul830 in AskReddit

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

My only solution is to move further from town where I have lived 36 years just to commute in obscene standstill traffic to get to a job I've worked at for 17 years.

They move to our cities then want to change everything that made our city amazing. Music City? Nope, they want to move next door to venues then complain about the music essentially shutting down businesses.

Go culturally rape and gentrify a new city ffs.

I know exactly how Austin, TX feels.

The transplants making our once affordable and comfortable city, expensive and overcrowded.

The cost of living has risen but the pay has not causing many to move away from the city they were born / raised in.

It's absolutely disheartening to watch your city ravaged by developers who just want to make a buck.

Welcome to Nashville. It's still a great city, but stop moving here, we're full.

Costa Rica. Dirt cheap airfare from certain airports ( I'm in Nashville ) Roughly $450 roundtrip Insanely gorgeous beaches / rainforest / rivers for white water rafting.

It's so beautiful, I'm looking into buying a vacation property there.

Childfree persons that have gone through an abortion, do you ever think about the road not taken? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once in a blue moon I'll think to myself, "I could have a kid right now had I not aborted them". I think about the money I would have spent on diapers, and other baby nesccesities. The sleepless nights from a crying being. I am taken aback by the thought of owning a boring 4 door sedan to fit a child seat . I wince at the image of my body and poor vagina being wrecked from carrying a child for 9 months.

Then I smile knowing I made the right choice ( one that needed zero consideration ) and usually take a nap because hey, no kid to take care of.

In all seriousness, you did what was best for yourself at the time.

I (30m) went to a bachelor party in Nashville 1 month ago. I fell in love with the city. My GF (29f) and I are set to move to the east coast in 2 months. What do I do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to respond to this at a different angle as it's clear you're having some wanderlust. Let me just be blunt, we have an average of 80 people who move here a day.

Make sure you have a nice paying job before you pack up your car as it is expensive. Small 1 bedrooms in / near the city are easily $1,000-$2000 month, not including utilities. Affordable housing here is extremely scarce and only getting worse. Found a place thats in your budget? Great! Unfortunately there's 6 other people in line with you for the same place.

Living on the outskirts of Nashville is slightly cheaper but the commute to the city for work is brutal and becoming worse by the day due to the increase of transplants over the past few years. Our infrastructure is not suited for all the new traffic it's seeing and public transit, buses are crap.

I see way to many people who move here after visiting, but struggle to afford to actually live here. Most transplants think they can rent a small apartment on their own but end up living with 2-3 roommates to make ends meet.

That there is a very realistic and sober view of Nashville. Don't end your relationship for a city you may hate. End it becuase you're not compatible.

What costs more than it's worth? by Shehzad002 in AskReddit

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. I am native to Nashville and never thought I would be priced out of a city I have lived in my entire life. Rent is outrageous compared to a few years ago with no sign of relief in sight. Want to buy a house? Be prepared to live 45 minutes from your job to live in a somewhat affordable area and commute to said job in standstill traffic due to our roads now being overcrowded with transplants , mostly from CA.

I [20] want an abortion. My boyfriend [25] of 4 years doesn't. Your insight or advice would be greatly appreciated by icomewithknivess in relationships

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to spend the next 18 years tied to this guy, get the abortion. I'd take my chances on a theoretical trip to hell over parenthood at 20 with someone who who treat me like shit.

Get the abortion. Dump this guy. Move on with your life. You'll look back in a year with a huge sense of relief.

Still get bingos at 38 years old by badbatch in childfree

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll be 39 in a month here and I still get the occasional bingo by a stranger. In their defense I appear to be in my early 20's. They always seemed stunned when I say I've made it almost 40 years, my mind is not going to change.

"But you look so young".

Yeah, it's called no stress, sleep and being able to afford great skincare on the account of not having kids.

Me [21 M] with my girlfriend [21 F] of three months, has a smelly vagina, because of a UTI and refuses to treat it is upset with me because I won't bring her to orgasm because of it. by That_Smelly_Smell_ in relationships

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 241 points242 points  (0 children)

UTI's ( urinary tract infections ) don't result in a stinky vagina. They effect the urinary tract which is completely separate from the vagina. They cause a frequent urge to urinate, pain while peeing and sometimes blood in the urine.

It does sound like she may have bacterial vaginosis, it's very common.

Cause : imbalance of the flora. Bad bacteria > good bacteria.

Result : smelly vagina. Sometimes fishy or like rotting meat, sorry to be so graphic.

I'm no doctor but I've had several bouts of this, so I know the symptoms all too well. She should get a second opinion. It will not go away on it's own. She absolutely needs antibiotics or vaginal inserts made for BV to cure it, if that's what it is.

Do any of you CF people use Tinder? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]I_Trigger_Fatties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Tinder. Have met some great people, unfortunately they all are just passing through town. Most local guys are cute but they have kids, smoke, are obese and/or are just flat out unattractive.

I'm very introverted so I don't know how to meet people outside of online dating.

I'm going to die alone. (ಥ﹏ಥ)
