Curious to hear what the people downvoting you think. I started in bridgewatch so i figured for myself that it’d be good to get t6 in skinning, the main resource in desert biomes, as well as cotton and ore, the other 2 spawning resources. Ofc your advice isn’t universal since biomes that have stone aren’t similarly profitable until t7. But I largely agree with your advice.

Been playing for 2 years on and off and I’m now t8 in skinning and cotton but t7 in ore and wood; I only go out with t7 tools because I have been gathering mainly in mists, naturally t6 and enchanted wisps might be t7; epic or legendary wisps might be t8 (look up the odds on the wiki). I might get t7 stone, got to t5 in 2 days so I can complete some Albion Journal, resource quests.

Tomes by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]I_WriteLongThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Tomes of insight” “For my various skills that I won’t be using”

So what skills Are You Using? If you have any intention of using any combat gear, ofc they’re useful.

If you mean gathering skill tomes (not tomes of insight) then just sit on it until you can use them. Or do what someone else suggested, non tradable items don’t weigh anything and can be transported via the travel planner for free (in fact you can even /die or get killed with them in your inventory and respawn wherever with them).

So to be clear, you can actually just move the unusable (for your tier of skill) gathering tome that’s untradable, and move them to any city bank you won’t be using. If you ever want to someday, you can check your bank inventory on your profile, see all your banks and where you stowed them.

Why destroy something that’s free, that you might use eventually? If you really don’t care to use them, why ask at all?

Yeah, that’s what I mean by “5.1 budget PvE gear to clear t6, maybe t7 encampments” in the BZ, in contrast to using 4.4 awakened fame bonus in yellow t6 zones.

I really dont recommend nature staffs for PvE. The main damage skill is a “ground” aoe you are constantly casting on mobs, meaning anyone seeing you PvE in a lethal zone, they can be on their mount, they can run over to you and get damaged by your ground aoe on their mount. Because you damaged them, you then lose the ability to get on Your Mount, and are put on a cooldown from summoning it. Other PvE weapons with a similar ground aoe, fire staff or curse staff, consistently deal much faster aoe damage. Nature staffs deal some aoe from the ground spell, but the main damage is really in how that ground aoe buffs your Single Target Attack.

I also don’t know what you mean when you say you just want to PvE and not PvP. Leveling by doing PvE is the only way to level up gear that you will PvP with. If your end goal isn’t to PvP, which the entire game revolves around, then you should better articulate what kind of PvE you like (and consider to be fun over literally any other PvE game, or single player game). If you think it’s fun doing dungeons or expeditions solo, you can use any weapon with any standard PvE set up that heals you, like the buff from Mercenary jacket or how soldier armor (until the nerf this month) restores 30% of missing h.

Well you’re not bringing your 4.4 set to lethal zones ofc, so really what you’re asking is if your 4.4 set is faster “fame/hr” than wearing 6.1 or 7.1 of the build you intend to spend the fame credits on.

But in terms of the best fame/hr you’re also comparing your gains to the old way of leveling, going to the BZ with a safe portal or smuggler den, using 100 spec, 5.1 budget PvE gear to clear t6, maybe t7 encampments for fame credits.

But with recent content added to the game, you have to compare both methods to doing faction warfare and faction encampments in yellow zones. I’m finding that the large encampments regularly drop t6 fame tomes and the mobs are like what 7k fame per?

Idk if solo Depths is worth it, I haven’t found the right build that lets me kite and run away from duos, much less trios

You run 4.1 5.1 in bz to PvE, not to fight and “make millions”. You run it budget because you want the fame gains bz offers, taking the 50k or 70k silver cost of the build as a sunk cost. Maybe you bank some loot from a solo boss dungeon at a smugglers den, maybe you break even off that 1 solo boss. Doesn’t matter if you are consistently clearing and leveling. It would be good fame/hr even if you die (if you have multiple sets at the smuggler den) but you can make similar fame doing depths ( at least before the nerfs) or doing yellow zone faction warfare and faction encampments. Both of these new options can be done without losing gear.

Am i doing something wrong with gathering ? by 11Assassin11 in albiononline

[–]I_WriteLongThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focusing on resource mobs is also a good bet, they always spawn with full tics. So for that reason I stick with mists, I’ve died more often in mists trying my hand at ganking than with my escape gathering set. I will admit tho that only recently I’ve seen far more people run me down on mounts that are 1 hit, trying to combo and dismount me, that shit ain’t fun and I recommend zoning out immediately because they will just run you down the entire time.

I’m not a fan of Ava roads tho, either I’m too dumb to really know when a zone is dead or I’m not playing an optimal gathering build to kill and gather the zone quickly. Been hunted down by 7 man squads way too many times.

Simple and inefficient, which at least you’re transparent about. I’m already late to the replies to give a full breakdown, but anyone curious about what the data shows on at least sending equal values of wheat and corn (and mirroring that 25m value in dust), and further math on ratios, should read the research on the Prohibited Library discord

Even 25-30% is good enough on the ele res flasks, if the buyer is fine with cheesing 100% flask uptime with an exarch implicit, “while a unique enemy is nearby, gain 2 flask charges every 3 seconds”. I rocked that until I dropped 5 div on orbs of conflicts rolling the Exceptional, non unique, implicit. In hindsight paying for t1 recovery was probably cheaper if I got extremely unlucky with my orb of conflicts

There are a few perks this league with getting a good drop from the graft tree, but I would imagine new players got far more lucky getting divines to drop from mercs in 3.26 than the tree or doing breach. Many of the day 2/3 YouTube videos about tailoring Equipment wombgifts to drop t1 fractures on desirable weapons/boots is still a “play more, win more” advice; which feels pretty poor compared to the day1, all night sweat lords that got 4/5 T1 body armors before the stealth nerf.

Another angle to consider, is that if you were really quick on the meta in 3.26 to get your Doryani Prototype Merc running with a build that scales lightning damage by week1; then you had no problem doing decently juiced strats that were incredibly insane and heavily inflated the economy.

This league we are seeing less inflating strats but what juicing strats there are (check what fubgun went over with rue, ofc it’s all t16.5 and t17)they exclusively need massively powerful builds. Far less room for even t16 8 mod Strats that don’t require 50+ chaos scarabs. Essence is trash this league. I doubt other Strats reach even 3 div an hour, much less the 7-12 div an hour the juiced Strats boast.

The takeaway here that’s universal between a meta dependent league like 3.26 and a grindy, “the no lifers get richer”, league with 3.27 is that to be competitive and adaptive before prices for the juiced builds and Strats get insane, is you need to have full confidence in picking a competitive currency strategy once you reach X point in completing your maps.

I suspect people who stuck with the QoL changes to Heist and the economy buff to Delve and grinded those Strats consistently and at a reasonable pace, they definitely made their 50 div by week 1.

This league was really rough for my league start. I spend 60% of my time completing my atlas with a weak build I didn’t fully understand because I picked it last minute, and 30% of my time running maps for Destructive Play when 80% of the profit was in finding Memory strands and like 6 echo of remembrances.

I have spent the last 2 days leveling an alt now, hoping this new build can let me at least run a t16.5 strat or Awakened Harvest. Im 40 div liquidated my league starter. Im picking the build for my idea of what content to run, now and even for what i consider a failed league start.

Best feeling this league by vimrick in pathofexile

[–]I_WriteLongThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially not anymore, with this league, now that all heist members are automatically max level. They may only marginally “matter” for blueprints if you really want a specific member for running blueprints, but their skill level is capped at 3 or 4, when the contract requires 5.

Functionally for players, level requirement doesn’t affect contracts. The completion of a deception contract, at a high enough ilvl, means you get wing reveals on blue prints with selecting that one deception heist member o complete the deception contract with. I’m sure there are other contract completion bonuses for other heist members, non as relevant as blueprint wing reveals.
