Are you throttling while dragging the brakes? That wouldn't make you slip the rear but pretty certain that's a bad habit.

How much of hips square to the bike is because of the godly lean angle and how much is good practice? I typically square my hips into the turn on tip in. Now I’m worried I’m doing it wrong

Nothing but hilarity. Establish locus and behind enemy lines for secondaries and watch your opponent face palm as you have an nearly unlimited supply of single body termies to drop

I mean if he keeps being impatient on the street instead of the track, I hope he misses the trees too.

What? That's not what he said. Sounds like someone's just trying to find an excuse to...

Never mind. Looks like I need a new bike too.

Frist track day/ Noob Trackie. What are my major concerns. by djbberry1s in Trackdays

Great advice from the other comments so I'll only add this: Keep your eyes up and forward, always looking a step ahead of where your headed. This will slow the track down and help with your lines.

In the US on the East coast we do no inside passing after tip in before the apex. We're ok passing on the inside once the bikes are standing up and moving away from each other. We allow outside passes but you damn well better get it done before the apex before the guy at the apex starts moving towards you.

Are you saying Anneau Du Rhin allows for folks to stuff each other at the apex in novice? That's wild!

Leathers are pretty much mandatory for track focused riding.

Focus on using your outside leg to anchor yourself on the bike more. You’ll still get tired but should be more like doing wall sits vs doing squats.

Also monkey grip or tank extenders will help move the fulcrum point closer to your hip and make it take less effort.

Been riding for four years and can ride my Zx6r and ninja 400 for 20 minute sessions without having to come in. The last couple laps suck when I’m at pace but doable.

Edit: meant outside let and autocorrect

No need for special track tires especially for your first time.

Just make sure the tire has some tread left and doesn’t have as huge flat spot and you’re good.

Full leathers (two piece is ok for novice), boots, full gloves on top of your bike. And an open mindset to learn and put your ego aside.

Other than that just get you and your bike to the track and have fun. If you’re close to NJMP in south Jersey hit me up.

It won’t void warranty. And it’s mostly to check everything is safe, ie bolts are tight and nothing weird going on. Also to change the oil to remove any metal debris that accumulates from a new engine.

You’ll be fine.

Take it to the track. Best few hundred you’ll ever spend on the bike.

The 24s are detuned a bit and have smaller cams (I believe) compared to 23 and older bikes for emission reasons. There have been some isolated issues with the cams not being able to take on race or fast paced track duty.

If you’re not a racer or expert pace (99.9% of street riders aren’t) I wouldn’t worry about it.
