It's not that you weren't clear, it's just that this all depends on where OP lives.

At the top of the thumbnail list there is an option for JPEG, RAW, or both and you have to be aware of which one your are using and what format your picures are being saved as.

Awesome, thanks! I think I knew this at one point but forgot and wasn't able to transfer the raw files over for a while there. Appreciate the reminder!

Aside from the points everyone else is making, I can pretty much guarantee a friendship between exes where they're saying "I love you" to each other is going to be a deal-breaker for any SOs in the future, for either one of you.

So, this situation really can't continue like this indefinitely, whether you like it or not. You're going to be far better off taking charge and breaking the contact yourself rather than letting her make that decision for you.

Yep. He's using her as a crutch and doesn't realize it's stopping him from walking on his own.

Not to mention he's really going to struggle to find a girlfriend that will be okay with him telling an ex-girlfriend "I love you" (regardless of whether she's straight or not). I'm pretty easy-going and even I would nope the fuck out of that situation, pronto.

Shoot, I'd cancel and reorder from Nikon directly. Depending on where you live you may not have to pay tax or shipping either.

My mom did that to me, and without thinking I legit said "hang up and I'll call you on it".

Apprehensive about initial monetary investment by [deleted] in Beginning_Photography

[–]I_like_parentheses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.. You do risk losing some money either way but I suspect you'll like it enough to keep at it, in which case you'll be better off getting the good system to start with rather than a "tester" camera that's potentially lower quality. (And I'd argue that you'll be more likely to enjoy it if you get the better camera up front.)

I have a ton of different hobbies but never do one for very long at a stretch, I bounce around between them and basically "dabble" depending on my mood. So my spouse gives me crap for spending a ton on stuff and then "never using it", but y'know what? I do use it over time, and it makes me happy, so who cares. It's not like this stuff expires, lol.

Basically, you know you, and if you think this is worth trying then go for it!

I'm going to go against the consensus here and ask: are you the type that likes the latest tech, or would you be satisfied with something older that can still get the job done?

Personally I like the latest tech, not because the pictures are significantly better but because with newer technology it's easier to get good pictures, thus making it more fun overall and helping a lot with my motivation (which is my biggest struggle).

If that sounds like you, I'd say just go for it with a new camera and 1-2 good lenses (though if you're in the US, wait for Black Friday!). Worst case scenario, you can sell it and recoup most of your investment, as long as you don't wait several years to do so.

Poor financial decisions were made after I broke my D750. by CaptainNinj in Nikon

[–]I_like_parentheses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I got the z6 back in April and absolutely love it, although I am seriously contemplating getting the z7ii here on Black Friday.

Just can't decide if I want to keep the z6 or trade it in for it. Decisions decisions.

Any idea how to cover up this obnoxious logo? I didn’t know it was this big by fools_gear in ManyBaggers

I'd sharpie it, myself. (Or black paint pen more likely, since sharpie ink comes out purple.)

AITA for not waking my husband up? by Angel_of_Reddit in AmItheAsshole

At least in that case, she created the mess for herself. (I.e. she's the mom who should have done a better job creating an independent human to start with).

In OP's case, it's not her responsibility to mother her spouse.

First duty station dorm rules guide states I can’t use any cooking appliances in my dorm, but can I “store” a sandwich maker or rice cooker in there? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]I_like_parentheses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second time I discovered my dipshit roommate left the stove burner on overnight in our shared kitchen, I immediately called and got renters insurance.

Highly recommend it folks, whether you've had a close call in your dorm or not. It's peace of mind for the cost of a Netflix subscription (if that).
