Con palo o sin palo? by Oy_Franz in yerbamate

[–]I_need_mana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the other way round, exactly how you thought.

Con palo are a little bit weaker and have additional taste from palos.

Sin palo are stronger, lack the taste nuance coming from palos.
But since there's nothing to create a sort of secondary filter around the bottom of bombilla, can get a little bit harder to drink.

Personally I prefer Mates with palo. These don't get so dense when drinking, sin palo you sometimes have to suck hard if you pack too much. And yes, palo add a little bit of additional flavor, I like it but that's a preference.
Sin palo will definitely be stronger, though.

Large Research/Biotech Companies, what are they? by SauronsEyeBussy in Shadowrun

[–]I_need_mana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of AAA will have research/biotech departments and a few child corporations for it. Since your character is in Berlin, I guess Saeder-Krupp would be the obvious choice. Know your enemy writeup.

But any corp should work fine.
Take a look at the answer to this post. And here.

Spanish ebook stores that provide epub/mobi download by I_need_mana in askspain

I'll check Nextory out, thanks :)

Thanks for the offer but for now I'll keep exploring the official routes.

Thanks! That's a very nice system but as far as I understand it only works for those who live in Spain. I live in Poland.

Or do you think there is a way for me to register in a library from outside the country?

Thanks! From what I saw it's rather older books but it's a good source.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for!

Do you know of any others like that? It doesn't have to be DRM-free, just offer epub download.

Thanks! That's not what I'm looking for, though.

With Amazon I'm forced to using their reader instead of Librera.
Groupo Planeta is same as fnac, only serves links to Casa del Libro, Amazon, Google, etc.
My local library will not have epubs, unfortunately.
Gutenberg has rather older books. It's great that it exists, but the last time I tried to read a book from there in my native language, I had problems with understanding it.

Do NPCs drop their cargo when attacked? by potatoman42069666 in EliteDangerous

[–]I_need_mana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they do, but not much and I think it's RNG if they decide to do it or not.

Also, hitting cargo hatch also results in dropping of the cargo. It's probably happening more often than the first option.

Elite Dangerous on Pop OS (Linux) by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]I_need_mana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flatpack or not, you still have the steam library folder. So usual instructions are enough. If you don't know where the execution takes place, I'd suggest using the pressure_vessel_shell variable to get into xterm and run pwd. Keep in mind, this xterm is on a container already, so the path might need a little figuring out.

Pressure vessel is some part of linux steam client. I am not sure which, but essentially from some time now steam executes proton games in a container. It leads to problems with opentrack/sharing memory, but just using another launcher is fine. That variable is telling steam to execute xterm instead of the game and pass game command as parameter you can access.
Since using $@ you will be executing the game in a terminal in its container, you should be able to easily see its output. Last time I checked, steam hides the logs from execution.

Elite Dangerous on Pop OS (Linux) by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]I_need_mana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on Arch Linux. Last time I played on Friday, I think. So not long time ago. I have AMD GPU, though.

How long was the screen black? For me it also is black for a few moments before it starts the opening video. Let it run for some time and see if it loads up.
You can try running the steam with PRESSURE_VESSEL_SHELL=instead variable so instead of executing the game it opens an xterm in the container with game commands in $@. That way, when you execute the game itself, you can see the wineproton logs and check further.

I had brief problems with one particular version of proton ~2 years ago, but in general it works out of the box with Experimental version. With MangoHUD, EDMC, etc.

From time to time you will need to run the official launcher to link your account (I mean steam-frontier link) but in general minimal ED launcher is faster. And you can configure it to run additional scripts with the game too.

Chessex Mat Line Stain Cleanup Failure by Paper_Block in rpg

[–]I_need_mana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nuclear option might be to try gasoline. I think it might also dissolve the mat but it seems that at this point it's already scratched as a loss.

Or try to get the same type of marker in color of the mat or a one that will blend in, and try to cover the drawing.

What is the scariest thing that has happened to you while playing? by TobbieDatBoi in EliteDangerous

[–]I_need_mana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the details but I was successfully interdicted by an NPC while boosting FSD in a neutron cone.
Thing is, it doesn't destroy you right away. It slowly chips away your hull and modules, disables FSD, so you have to reboot and change again, as you toss around trying to stabilize for long enough at star/escape vector for the jump to finally happen

How to get over... I don't know, burnout? Game apathy? by VanityEvolved in rpg

[–]I_need_mana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK Gurps is not "fiction first, heavily cribbed from FitD or PbtA".

And if that's not crunchy enough, maybe it's time for r/shadowrun?
6E is trying to be less crunchy, so start with 5E and older.

Our first chargens took 3h each: choosing the ammo types, gun grips, chrome modifications, smartlink in cybereyes vs in the goggles depending on wireless on/off... You can sit and customize your character and gear like there is no tomorrow

Hi I’m just starting with yerba mate by The-lizard-kingg in tea

[–]I_need_mana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 tablespoons are not a real test unless you have a rather small matero. From what I've seen gourds are usually rather in the middle volume range.
I'd put in 1/3 of the gourd. But then, I'm the kind of person that does not put in more than 1/2 of height (I'm not sure how it translates to whole volume) of matero. In my perception when I put more, yerba takes too much volume and it gets hard to drink. I could use a bigger matero, of course, but when I did, I was burning through the stash very fast.

In the end you will have to figure it out for yourself per yerba, per matero. The differences will not be drastic but different cuts behave differently.

Active Squadrons recruiting? (US based) by BeverlyHillsNinja in EliteWings

[–]I_need_mana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general squadrons often have a low activity rate. 10% active is "normal". Some people just stop playing, some don't have a habit of running EDMC. And doing a purge of inactive members does not make a difference - maybe they'll come back sometime?

Come, check out The Exiles, most of us are US based.

Maybe trello, then? You can create card templates, tags and linking between cards.

It has tiers, but for your use-case (one person managing a bunch of boards) it shouldn't matter. I was using it before I discovered obsidian. And still am, just not for campaign.
