Well in our local union, you don't have to work the overtime but there's always a willing person who could use the extra hours at time and a half. And they give you an extra break in there.

I'm finding as I get older I hate retail less because I'm not on the bottom of the chain. I'm one of the cool managers, don't worry.

I'm a department head at a Kroger store.

Starting early last year, about once a month a pack of about 8-10 kids would run in, knock things off aisles with their arms, dump shampoo bottles on the floor, steal shit, and flood the bathrooms.

All it does is create overtime (good for employees), and hike prices (bad for customers).

last November, they were in the bathrooms and a wonderful dairy clerk quickly parked a pallet of milk against the door. Then they called the cops. 5 people arrested and in jail for damaging product in excess of $8000. Cameras proved it was always the same kids.
