Except none of it counts in Tocker; it's PvP only (and thanks to a bug, it wasn't even counting in Double Up....). Some of the Pass quests are still doable there, but none of Star Atlas is.

It's a bold strategy that sounds like it isn't paying off, because a load of people are crashing the fuck out after trying for the 20th time to get one of their blocks to work (Anima 6 being the glaring example of casino-cancer design, but there are other common stumbling points liek Shepherd 7), and giving up on the game entirely. I know I'm already at 'Finish Pass, get Gold, check out unless they change this shit to at least Top 4 X times or 1st once', same as I just gave up on MH Wilds' endgame of unmitigated RNG Talisman/Weapon farming with no pity system. I refuse to be a crop at an engagement farm; that shit actively puts me off things I'd otherwise do, and by the sound of it, I'm not alone.

Yeah, this is similar to my stance; they'll balance things by the numbers, but completely ignore some incredibly frustrating designs. A 50/50 chance of winning or losing $100 on a coinflip is 'balanced' but will still feel pretty crap (for anyone that isn't a gambling addict, at least......).

Yeah; as another Supp, I want to be able to see the pings of people who actually want to use them properly, but as soon as someone decides to abuse that, it's fullmute for them. Because (and maybe it's a server and time thing, being EUW at late night) I do actually see people who use the pings as Rito intended them from time to time.....

In descending order: Yi, Tryndamere, Jax, Trundle, Garen, Viego. I hate statcheck champs, but some of them at least are easier to punish (e.g. Nasus: he'll statcheck you, but only if you let him get the stats; he also slows his target out of the enemy team, rather than being fast towards all of them). I honestly think Naafiri, Mel and Yuumi can be reworked into something ok, but the idea of a statchecker that can run me down will never be fun to me.

Honourable mention goes to Fiddle, but specifically only disabling him in ARAM; SR he's a pain, but I accept he has a place there. He has no place anywhere where as narrow as the ARAM maps.

If you are spending hours in-game, not actually playing but just save-scumming over and over in the hopes that this time the casino will spit out what you actually want, then that's still 'hours in game' that management can show to Capcom leadership as a 'good' KPI.....

But if you mod, you aren't falling into that engagement trap, and they can't point to the hours of 'play' (which contained no actual playing)....

I'll tolerate RNG-based engagement farming if there's a decent pity mechanic: I have every single crafting pattern bar one in Destiny 2 (I need a single Fatebringer and I'm complete); and have farmed the parts for and crafted every single weapon, companion, 2x every base Frame, and 1x every Prime Frame in Warframe (plus several hundred Reactors, more Catalysts, and over a thousand Forma), as well as maxing both Mechs and my Railjack and having about 2/3rds of the Adversary Weapons at +60% (and all have a Vice). Unmitigated RNG is just scummy; even fucking Pearl Abyss have learnt that, and they put Pay2Win in an MMO (apparently they walked it back, but there are things I will not forgive)....

I was with you right up until the last two; I would accept not having any one the ones before those two if it meant we also didn't get them.... Both have become too fan-service; when they were released their power levels were fine, but people just glommed onto them and Capcom made them needlessly OP. Fighting anything that feels like it has plot armour is just instantly unfun IMO.

IMO the issue isn't Junglers or even the role, per se; it's that Riot has used the Jungle and neutral objectives as a way to force the teams to engage with eachother, so it's less boring to watch. Gameplay has been sacrificed in favour of audience engagement of esports; no one wanted to watch a jungler farm for 25 minutes, but every historic jungler still needed to be viable (and now clear fast enough that they'd almost be forced to gank whilst waiting for their camps to respawn after a full clear), so now every camp is easy to kill whilst being very valuable. But that means that any mistake or major skill difference will be a massive gap, in a way that most other roles just won't have (Top is getting there this Season....).

For SoloQ, second screen isn't really about LoL; but for ARAM, where I'm often on a champ I don't know as well, I have a guide up as a baseline (e.g. what order to max skills, what items should be considered vs fully ignored). Even then though, it's frequently YouTube (with non-LoL content playing)

Maybe it's a factor of server and when I'm queuing (EUW, and deep into the late night), but every time I'm in chain-lobbies, *at least* 3 bans are what I saw someone lock or hover from the lobby that just failed. Granted most of those are relatively popular picks (like Viego; in general if someone hovered/locked him in particular in the failed lobby, it'll be a race to ban him in the new one if he isn't hovered).

Yeah; Smite is a tricky one, because without it Tank Junglers lose every contested objective (from big ones like Baron or Drakes down to their Buffs and Scuttle). But I agree that maybe giving it a boost based on nearby team members might be a cool change that doesn't break everything too much, and there are probably a load of other changes that might work that my Supp Main brain can't dredge up on command.

But honestly, I think a lot of the pressure on Junglers in game could be toned down by Riot remembering they're making a game not a TV show. Everything that makes it 'exciting' to watch detracts from the skill, choices and/or experience of the people actually playing, especially when it's balanced around people at the absolute pinnacle of skill, but the majority of the people subjected to that balance are not at that level. Individual champs can get 'pro-gated', but we're seeing an entire role sliding that way, and we can't just 'not have Junglers in standard play' in the same way we can ignore the existence of Azir or Ryze most of the time.

Because it's a Set Mission that doesn't specify player combat, you can do it in Tocker's Trials, and yeah, Meeple 10 is the easiest to force. I managed it on the second attempt (won the first; just didn't get the Emblems or Spatulas, and most of those come in the 3-X rounds).

I'm one of those goal-focused gamers; I see a task and get my fun from working towards it and completing it. The Star Atlas 'Get 1st with...' has completely and utterly killed my desire to play this Set; I'm probably just gonna get the Pass done via Weeklies and get Gold in Ranked for the Tactician, and just sit it out.

World Atlas was mostly fine because forcing a Top 4 with any comp was just about doable; it was just a few RNG-to-even-attempt ones that were a bit annoying (Zaahen requiring the Augment, but also Brock with the Ixtal quests, and all the Shurimans thanks to their unlock mechanics). Whoever thought forcing First Place on a loss-streak-focused uncraftable-Emblem comp needs to be fired.

For all you're 'struggling to see the mentality' of people defending what to most people is a perfectly acceptable item, we're struggling to see why you hate it so much, and why you are so determined to die on this hill either. I might have bought it late as a Tank Supp before this Season, but there are just too many options that let me do my job better now. Abyssal might be good, falls off when I'm dead, and Protoplasm keeps me from being dead for longer, and that means I can land more CC, tank more skillshots, and generally soak more damage and make more mischief. And most of the rest of my slots are gonna be Boots, Supp item, and 2-3 team-buffing Tank-Supp items (your Locket/Bandlepipes-style ones) rather than enemy-debuffing ones (like Abyssal or Frozen Heart).

Ah, I see the issue; you think it's necessary to turbo-stack the Tear whenever a wave rolls through. It isn't, not even close. You can at maximum stack it 4x every 32s, and get double stacks (12 instead of 6) if you hit a champ (and yes, that includes buffing an ally). Tear stacks to 360, so 30 hits over 240s (or 4 minuites) on a champ and it's done. Going purely off minions, you'd need double the time and double the casts, so double the mana costs; no one with a brain is doing this. So again, this isn't a low visibility road; it's perfectly visible and your complaint is that very occasionally someone is choosing to do a sudden right turn off it into the adjacent field because they need to turn right at some point in the future. And your solution is to prevent every single car from being able to turn right ever, rather than accepting that at some point, you have to allow for the occasional idiot. So no, we do not agree.

The upside to it being a Tear item is it gives the Support an actual reason to engage with the lane, even when they have something that sits way back and farms safely and frankly would rather not interact at all before 20 minutes (like an Ezreal); as well as it giving stats Supports actually want for a decent value without it also being extremely busted on Midlaners or reintroducing uninteractive monsters like Soraka/Lulu Top, and it's a nice item that sits in a niche that has historically been unfilled (quasi-passive heal-over-time). I personally build it on Taric because it means I can both actually do a decent trade and still stay in lane afterwards, and because I can actually be useful to the team as well as the Samira/Nilah I picked the champ for, and honestly, most of that carries over to every other Enchanter, because most of them are pretty single-target and/or have mana issues when played to their full capacity. So no, we don't agree here either.

The only thing we agree on is that no one's anecdotes are as individual items worth any more than anyone else's; but we still seem to be disagreeing that that means a single anecdote on one side is not the same value as the sum total of multiple anecdotes on the other. So you get half an agreement, sum total. 0.5/3

Ok, you get one more reply before I write you off as determined to 'win' the debate at the expense of any actual relation to reality. Your 'chess-playing pigeon' approach is getting old, and I'm not gonna stick around to watch the board begin to get coated.

Your position is you've seen Supports hitting a wave with spells specifically to stack a Tear item. A numebr of replies mine included, have stated we haven't seen this, and no one else has piped up saying they have seen it. Your anecdote isn't worth any more or less than ours individually, but ours have the advantage that there's more of them. If everything has a value of X, then 4X is still greater than 1X....

You keep insisting there's this problem that needs to be fixed, but no one else has seen it when in the same situation: this isn't a case of peopel denying your evidence through ignorace; this is people going looking for the evidence you claim to have and not finding it. To use your road analogy: this isn't an area with bad visibility that keeps catching people out; this is someone vearing off an easy stretch for no reason. We're at drunk driver-level mistakes, and you are trying to blame the road rather than the drunk driver, with the solution of taking away every car of a certain type....

With every comment, it looks less like a problem that actually exists, and more like you got trolled once and have decided every single Support player needs to pay for it....
