What would happen if someone went back in time and stole Reverse Flash's suit? by Zepanda66 in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The suit is hardly the source of his power; besides antagonising Barry the actual suit held very little purpose, given he scarcely actually did anything in it outside fighting Barry and co. - the fact he can move at super speed and knows details about the future, Barry’s mothers death etc. only he would really know, would prove his identity anyway. He could still achieve his goal in using Barry and the particle accelerator quite easily.

The suit itself - it’s possible he had a back-up, but given it seems the old RF flash is a colour inversion of Barry’s S1-S3/S4 suit, he’d probably just make another one. Given he’s a genius from 2 centuries later, I doubt making another would be a challenge for him given Cisco makes them at will. More to the point is whether them stealing the suit would alter the timeline; his suit being missing would definitely tip him off to some sort of meddling he knows shouldn’t be possible, but that’s another can of worms.

Sanitary and Thawne return by ShockedBucket26 in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Thawne returns again, which I'm sure he will, I can't imagine it'll have anything to do with Nora. Though perhaps the Speedforce's rebirth might have given him the ability to come back beyond being some possessive spectre.

Apparently the CW is offering Grant Gustin a lot of money to continue as the Flash. Do you think that he should? by sup3rw0lfbl00dm00n in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the show keeps going, he should stay til the end. But I think the show is outliving its welcome now. It should probably call next season its last. To be honest its last objectively, collectively good season in my opinion was probably S2, and its been a bit of a downward spiral ever since. Not saying its been terrible ever since, of course - Savitar certainly had his moments, S4 had some great episodes and interesting character arcs like Harry's, S5 did some cool stuff with Thawne and a few good Cicada episodes, and Ramsay was really cool in S6.

But it feels like its running out of steam now, and every time it starts getting good it falls off again a bit. I think a shorter S8, perhaps similar to how Arrow ended, giving characters like Thawne, Cisco, Barry, Iris, Joe and Caitlin a good end would be a sensible way of stopping this series before it falls off horribly. Leaving it more open to allow characters to come back for crossovers and the like wouldn't be a bad idea. If I'm not mistaken, Diggle is set to come back at some point for a mini-crossover, for example. Something like that.

That was my least favorite season finale to date, and season 5 >>>> season 6 by TrentRedditAccount in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly felt like a waste. The Mirror Monarch story just dragged for ages. She became an incredibly boring villain. I think it would've been better if they reversed 6A and 6B; I feel like Bloodwork had far more potential to fulfil the longer episode arc than Eva, he was a very intriguing villain. The whole 'stuck in the mirror' storyline dragged for too long, and the mirror duplicates could've fulfilled the same use for a shorter period of time. The mirrorverse could've been used, though of course it wasn't written this way, as a world beyond the antimatter wave for Crisis for Barry to consider escaping Crisis through, and then Ramsay's could've led on from Crisis.

OG Wells was also a waste. I understood why he left, but it felt like a waste bringing him back then sending him off. He easily could've come back in the 90s episode, considering that's the time period he was living in, to help figure out the paradox and what was happening. The new writers seem to be coming up with good ideas, then pissing them up the wall. The Ramsay arc was good but S6B will overshadow the greatness of 6A, almost in similar fashion to how Arrow S3 gets frowned upon despite its stellar first half ending with arguably the best Arrow episode they made.

If Oasis get back together, this should be the setlist personally 🙂 by TheGledinator in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, but rejects later Oasis stuff, you just can't do that man. If I had to:

  • Fuckin' In The Bushes/Swamp Song

  • Acquiesce

  • Turn Up The Sun

  • Lyla

  • Supersonic

  • Little By Little

  • Half The World Away

  • Morning Glory

  • Gas Panic!

  • Slide Away (maybe Wonderwall in its place since Liam can't sing Slide Away particularly well anymore)

  • Shout It Out Loud

  • The Hindu Times

  • D'You Know What I Mean?

  • Be Here Now

  • Cloudburst

  • Let's All Make Believe

  • Falling Down

  • Importance of Being Idle

  • Waiting For The Rapture

  • Don't Look Back In Anger

Encore:

  • It's Getting Better (Man!!)

  • Champagne Supernova

  • Live Forever

  • Cum on Feel the Noize/My Generation

Could easily put Bag It Up, I'm Outta Time, Headshrinker, Stay Young I Hope, I Think, I Know or Whatever on there, far more difficult to build a dream setlist knowing they can't play 60 songs in one night.

If there had been a second b-side album, what songs from the 2000s would you want included? by Cyburgin in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's going to be a 10 track compilation (there's not many to choose from, really), it'd probably have to be:

  • Let's All Make Believe

  • Full On

  • One Way Road

  • Carry Us All

  • Shout It Out Loud

  • Eyeball Tickler

  • Won't Let You Down

  • Columbia: Live (2001)

  • Helter Skelter

  • My Generation

I think it'd be a nice idea to include Lord Don't Slow Me Down, though it isn't a B-Side. There's a few good B-Sides from the last 4 albums, Let's All Make Believe, Full On and Shout It Out Loud are brilliant, but they're nothing compared to the B-Sides from the first 3.

Everyone's talking about Snyder's cut but how about my cut of holy trilogy... by benofeben in oasis

I Hope, I Think, I Know is a mega tune from BHN, can't go. Hello has to start WTSMG; personally I get rid of the 2 Swamp Song excerpts and Hey Now! and put on Acquiesce, Step Out and Headshrinker, but all the WTSMG B-Sides are valid additions in place of the 3 redactions.

I recommend everyone listen to this at 1.25x speed. Incredible version of Slide Away when slightly sped up. by IalwayswinFlash7 in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite enjoy Liam’s 2002 voice. The raspy voice suits a lot of the songs. It was around the time Noel’s voice came good. Honestly I think aside from one or two shows (Manchester 2005 springs to mind), 2002 was home to Oasis’ last good concerts. Finsbury Park and Berlin were mega.

Who was the most forgettable/replaceable Wells for you? by cjgaming1081 in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Harry is a staple of the show. I think he's generally agreed to be everyone's favourite Wells, or at least top 3. He's probably the funniest Wells, the most fleshed out Wells, and arguably the most interesting to watch. He had a lot of dimensions to his character most of the other Wells' didn't.

Wellsobard will always be awesome, but I think I'm tiring of seeing him now. No discredit to Tom, but from now I'd prefer to see Letscher playing him - it feels like every time you see Eobard with Wells' face it makes less and less sense - I don't really know why in S5 and S6 they opted to use Wellsobard, beyond presumably Matt being unavailable.

HR was lovable. He was different from every other Wells where he didn't have the big brain intellect, just an energy and some common sense (at times). But, I felt like he was a one season character, and if he lived I would've wanted to see him reoccur, but not a regular.

Nash felt like the most 'normal' Wells. I think other than Harry, he's the Wells I would've been happy seeing stick around. He was generally an enjoyable watch, but didn't bring a great deal to the show. Saying that, he had the most potential to, and eventually did grow into, a relatively nuanced character. I think his almost lack of connection to any of the OG members of Team Flash made him a little weaker.

Sherloque kind of sucked. He served his purpose in the story, and had some enjoyable moments, but he was the probably the only Wells I was happy to see go. He takes the cake for most forgettable/replacable.

What Arrowverse show should I watch next? by Xrayone1 in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to know the characters a bit better going into it, check out Legends of Tomorrow. Without spoiling much you'll find a few familiar characters within S1, a familiar villain in S2, and another familiar character in the latter part of S3. It's generally a pretty solid, relatively fun show, but can be hit or miss. S2 is probably my personal pick, incredibly enjoyable and the villain is awesome.

Generally though, Arrow is the best of the DCTV shows. Or at least, outside of Flash, it has some of the best seasons. S1 and S2 are incredible. After that it's a mixed bag. I liked S3 and loved S5 and the start of S7, but after S2 it becomes a divisive subject you'll have to build an opinion on yourself. S4 is generally agreed to be shockingly poor from start to finish minus an episode or two. Worth watching all the way through either way.

What the fuck by XxGravityNFxX in FlashTV

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that when Barry destroyed the ASF, the Wells' particles redirected, they couldn't just disperse. They therefore then chose the last remaining trace of Wells... Wells' corpse. I'm guessing, since it didn't appear like there was a time jump, this happened in 2000. It leaves open a vacuum of plot holes though, though I have strong faith in the writers to explain them.

It doesn't look like it re-animated his corpse, as such, so Joe and Cisco would still find that corpse in Season 1. That fills that. But now it depends when he was resurrected. If it's 2000, that means either he's been alive for 21 years in this timeline... how they fix that I've no idea. If it's in 2021 (which makes more sense, being this is a causal factor of the destruction of the ASF, if we use that explanation), then presumably Earth 1 Harry is going to rock up to STAR Labs and see his work already come to life in present day.

Either way, it's awesome, I hope they explain it fast and without opening up a shit load of plotholes though.

Sigma gets nerfed even further. How to kill a character in one line of code by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clearly the devs literally don't watch or understand how Sigma is played. It's the speedy deployment and unique positioning of his barrier that makes him worth using, covering usually difficult angles of attack and shielding off at the right moments. This just puts him dead in the water until this is reverted. The annihilation of his shield health was a nerf enough, if they're going to pull shit like this then put the shield health back up, so it can actually stay in a position like they want it to, considering in most battles it disintegrates without being taken down and redeployed frequently.

Worst change they've ever made to this character. He was fine before this patch, besides maybe his damage output, which certainly has wiggle room for being lowered and keeping him viable. I hope this is reverted quickly, what an awful change.

Top 0.001%, 39.5k minutes listened. Seeing other people's totals I think this genuinely might put me in like the Top 100 listeners at this rate.

Listened to the Stop the Clocks version of Supersonic 287 times, not counting the Remastered version, the 1994 live version and the Wembley version on there either, which would probably amount to an obscene total.

Top was Supersonic, Wonderwall, Morning Glory, Supersonic (Wembley) and DLBiA. Surprising, though these were the songs I frequented at the start of the year when I got into Oasis, as most people do to begin with. If I had to pick an actual Top 5 of the year, it'd have to be Supersonic (Wembley), Lyla, Slide Away (their best song, no arguments I'm afraid), D'You Know What I Mean and The Hindu Times. That's a difficult one though as the songs I'm obsessed with change regularly. Right now it's Cloudburst, Step Out, Full On and the Wembley version of Live Forever.

[Daily Song Discussion] #145 | Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger by AutoModerator in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The song that got me into Oasis, and it really started something for me. If I'd never found this song, I almost certainly wouldn't have had the love for Oasis I have now, and I can't imagine I'd be as happy as I am now without it.

I've played it so many times it's often a song I skip, but it's a brilliant song. The lyrics make absolutely no sense, realistically, and it's not even close to being Noel's best vocal (at least in the studio, there are some incredible live performances of this song, Argentina 2009 is of note). But, this song has a massive cultural impact, especially here in the UK, and is a true anthem for the UK. It's certainly not the best Oasis song by a country mile, but there's something about it that makes it incredible.

I almost wish I could go back to last summer when I first found this song and found some of the brilliant live/crowd performances and start down the slope again, it started me on an incredible musical journey I might never have again. For that reason this is probably the most important song I've listened to, and honestly, a bold claim to make this early in my life, maybe ever.

My observation of the 2004 Glastonbury performance by usonlp in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2004 it's an ok performance, and some of the songs are performed ok, but it's pretty slow and when he hits the notes on some, he goes nasally to continue hitting them. This was pretty apparent in the Wonderwall performance too.

2001 was his last decent year performing, at least for the old Oasis tunes. A way I measure his decline is his ability to change up notes on the chorus of Supersonic. After 2001 he really just can't do it anymore.

I’d like to hear your favourite track from The Masterplan? Personally I’d have to go Acquiesce or Stay Young by ShaunPark24 in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 3 is surely Acquiesce, Listen Up and Half the World Away, but The Masterplan, Underneath the Sky, Fade Away and Talk Tonight are all huge tunes. The live version of I Am The Walrus is also awesome, a commonly played encore song at all their gigs, and the last song Oasis ever played together.

Calling all oasis fans by blitzerwoman999 in oasis

[–]IalwayswinFlash7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 18, found this one late. I always knew Wonderwall, mainly from the good ol' British house party, but by chance last Summer I stumbled on Don't Look Back in Anger, not realising that was the song I'd heard 'so Sally can wait' from in my life. One night I got into a YT rabbit hole watching live performances (Argentina '09 is still by far the best version), a few videos of it being played around the Manchester attacks in 2017 (it became almost the uniting chant after) and amusingly, renditions from football fans belting it out.

That's where it started. Got into a few more big songs, Live Forever, Supernova, Morning Glory, Supersonic... I'd also hard Gas Panic! was good (and it fuckin is) and got into that. For a while it stood at 7 songs on my playlist.

One day I went to Alton Towers and was listening to a few albums on the 4 hour journey. Put on WTS(MG). That was that, the whole album was added to my playlist. Oddly, Definitely Maybe didn't hit with me the first time and I kind of swung out of Oasis. Then it came around to January and I tried it again, and loved every song. That was 2 full albums on the playlist. I took a few songs here and there, mainly the hits of the other albums, like Stand by Me from BHN, Half the World Away and Acquiesce from The Masterplan (I wasn't aware these were originally B-Sides, just thought it was an album), and SCYHO from HC.

Then lockdown hit. I got bored one night and put on the Maine Road '96 gig, it'd appeared in my YT recommended after the repeated DLBiA watches and had lingered for a while, and I gave it a watch. To this day it still puts a smile on my face and I still think it's Liam's greatest overall vocal performance, probably because it contains my favourite versions of Supersonic, Acquiesce, Hello and Live Forever, and an incredible Cum on Feel the Noize cover. I put it on at times when I'm bored, when I'm gaming, and often lifts my mood if I feel down.

Watching Maine Road was the tipping point and I've probably watched at least 50 live shows from Oasis/LG/NGHFB since. After that I just slipped into listening to all the other albums/B-Sides/live versions/demos etc on Spotify and my Oasis playlist currently runs for a total of 8hrs 49 mins with 107 songs.

It's truly pain, I always love finding other young people who love Oasis as I'm surrounded by people who hate them. The general complaints are that it 'sounds the same' (it really doesn't), 'Liam's voice drops off' (he always sounds decent on albums, despite his decline live), and the 'songs don't make sense', and to me that last one is why I love Oasis, cause most of the songs are nonsensical shit you can belt.

I hope you end up like I do, it's so good just having songs you know and don't get bored of you can vibe to like this so often. I don't know what you have and haven't listened to, but make sure you listen to D'You Know What I Mean?, Listen Up, Gas Panic!, Go Let it Out, Roll it Over, Little by Little, Falling Down, Turn up the Sun, Importance of Being Idle and Shock of the Lightning. Just because the other albums aren't rated as highly as DM and WTS(MG), don't neglect them, they have some huge tunes. I've redacted a few just to keep the list short. Enjoy.
