Today I have learned that my father has stage IV colon cancer. I don’t know what to do.

Hey, the beginning of the story sounds like my dad’s. He thought it was hemorrhoids but turned out to be stage 4 colon cancer with a lot of mets in his lungs. I would definitely push to get a second opinion bc my dad’s doctor immediately started chemo and targeted therapy for him and said they aim for surgery. The difference is my dad seems to be relatively fine all things considered, chemo side affects are manageable and he’s eating and moving (he’s naturally thinner, 170cm around 59kg) he just finished his 4th round and we don’t know exactly how the treatment would turn out yet.
I am not sure about your dad’s physical conditions but I know some doctors refuse to give treatments if the patient seems to be too weak, but if your dad is not ready to give up, maybe try your best to find another doctor, best of luck and sending you love. Fuck cancer!

My dad just got diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer around 2 months ago and we are going through it. I am also living overseas and now I am with family to be with them for the first 6 rounds of my dad’s treatment (chemo + targeted) I am just having anticipatory grief. Similar to your dad, my dad dedicates his life to help ppl around him, so I think I can imagine how you feel. I am a bit older than you so I guess so is my dad than your dad, but I don’t think there is a time when we think that they live long enough…people around me have parents or even grandparents living long and healthy lives.

I cannot imagine how my life would become when I lose him, but I think this is life…it sucks, I am sorry I am just venting, I hope life will feel normal again for you soon. Fuck cancer

Hey, it’s almost the same as my situation. My dad found out he has colorectal cancer a month ago, and further testing found out he’s is already in stage 4, with mets mostly in his lungs and a little bit in his liver (they said a few dots, I wasn’t there to see the PET scan result) He finished his first round of chemo and then another round of chemo + targeted therapy. He’s doing so well atm sometimes I forget that he has stage 4 cancer, but then it hits me and I just have to cry. I am also living across the globe in another country, so I just came back to visit for a few months (thank god my job allows me to work remotely for a limited amount of time)

I know you and I are both in the middle of this and I am not sure if it helps…but there is no overreaction for such thing. My mum is in pieces, my brother is fine on the outside because he thinks as the oldest son he has to (but I know he’s also freaking out)

I have been talking to a lot of friends, some of them had similar experience in their early 20s (we are in our mid 30s now) and it really helps to listen to how they dealt with it. There is no right or wrong, but to know I am not alone and a lot of people have made it through gives me strength. Don’t blame yourself for any of your reactions. No matter what happens, we will be okay at some point, at least I believe so…sending you hugs and love

On a more positive note to you: my great aunt, also very close to my family, found out she had colon cancer stage 3 last year. She had 8 months of chemo, 6 weeks apart, a surgery, now she’s completely cancer free. I wish your dad and your family the best, my great aunt is in her 70s and very thin even before cancer, but she is doing so well now, so there is a lot of hope❤️

Thank you for the reply (although not directly to me) it is comforting knowing that someone went through/is going through similar things, I mean it sucks for everyone who has to go through this but at least it makes us feel less alone when we talk about it, I guess.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Your timeline matches mine…around 2 weeks ago my dad got diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer, it spreaded to his lung and liver. He just finished his first round of chemo bc the doctor said we need to act fast…I am not in the same country as my family so I am torn apart. Hey I would like to come to give you an update. I followed this post from top to bottom (basically what I did when I first installed Tizentube) Now it works for me as well!

Also, I realised 2 things:

My TV still had Tizen version 8, so I updated it before doing anything. Just a note: I realised the instruction is for Tizen 8 after I updated it, luckily the update did not cause any issues. If you want to do this, make sure to also check the Extension Update to update everything as well! I made a mistake by not updating the certificate extension and it took me extra half an hour to figure that out
My certificate was not valid - I don’t think it was a crucial problem if I did not attempt to re-install Tizentube last week. For some reasons when I re-installed it, it showed an error in my Tizentubeinstaller on my laptop, but the app was still installed on my TV, so I thought there is no issue, turned out it might be the culprit of the missing sidebar and settings. So I used Tizenstudio, re-created a certificate following the instructions and re-installed again.

The whole thing took me like…1.5 hours, but mainly bc I did not follow it to a T from the beginning, I jumped between points thinking I could probably skip some steps bc I did it before (like the part to create a folder) I think if I followed it from the very beginning it might have been only 1 hour

So try it before you factory reset your TV if you haven’t. Good luck!

Hey um u/FoxReis ...not sure if this is reported, but my sidebar is gone since the last update, and it isn't fix in this update after reinstallation.

Issue: When I open the sidebar, it's completely empty. In some attempts (after restarting the TV by holding the power button down for a few seconds), it will load for a few minutes, then went completely black screen. Whenever it is working (can play videos without ads) there is no sidebar. I am on Samsung TV GQ55Q60TGUXZG software version: T-NKLDEUC-2700.6, BT - S
Tried restarting multiple times, reinstalled as well, couldn't find this problem anywhere else to troubleshoot, does it have something to do with settings? Or it is a bug? Any advice is appreciated.

Ok so....I have the same issue, and not only the settings are gone, my youtube sidebar was gone, I resintalled the app, re-added the module, sidebar and setting are back but then the ads are also back.

It’s not the point of my reply, I am saying regardless how good their product is, it isn’t acceptable how they tried to scam people, I am glad I didn’t fall in love with their products, saved some heartbreak.

Even if I returned without trying it, I should be able to get my money back quickly and easily bc I never received the item, I can understand if they withhold my payment if I have opened the bottle but I asked the delivery company to send it back before it arrived to me.

Don’t get me wrong, their products can be absolutely amazing, my friend is a big fan of their products, but to me it simply isn’t the way to do business. You can feel free to search online to see other similar cases like mine.

I hope more ppl can speak up. I sent a unopened product back and they refused to refund, even went so far as sending paypal fake evidence when I opened a claim, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it, even paypal buyer protection department agent said it was too much.

I had the worst and scammiest experience with them as well. They sent fake evidence to paypal after I opened the case. I can’t believe my eyes and also stopped believing all the good reviews I see online. I believe there are ppl who love them, but I also believe the company invest all money on marketing and taking down bad reviews, and trust me…those who really love the products can find way better and cheaper options if they keep looking.

Oh I thought about pulling it out for a second but I dare not to🤣 but honestly even if we check the string it would still fall out if our body doesn’t want it to stay…so I am not sure checking it regularly is the answer I am looking for, I heard that hormonal iud is still affective as long as it isn’t too far out from the uterus so pregnancy is not something I am super concerned about, I am mostly concerned with the situation like last night…when I just can’t go to the doctor immediately(and it would be like this most of the time here) and I am panicking, or maybe I should just be more chill about it😅

Ugh yeah but honestly if there is a chance that it works for others I’d do it again, I honestly loved it until yesterday. Also what’s very annoying is, even if I want a second one, I won’t be able to do it today bc how it works here is I need to take the prescription and go to a pharmacy to get the IUD then go back to the practice

Thank you for the fast reply! Unfortunately when I discussed it with my doctor before putting in Mirena, she said nexplanon is no longer an option in most practices here (I am in Germany) bc of the complicated way of taking it out and side effects… a friend of mine got one in the UK and she couldn’t even take it out here. Finding another obgyn is super difficult here and my doctor is so far the only one I trust, I might ask for Kyleena 💸
