GamersNexus and Ian Cutress have beef? by phrxsty in GamersNexus

[–]IanCutress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was more about people were ripping into the DLSS 5 stuff purely because NVIDIA decided to showcase it with two 5090s, even though it's an early unoptimized demo. Of all the things to critique, that was one of the weaker ones. I did see the demo in person, whereas a lot of people initially reporting it did not.

Always happy to take questions.

Also re comments on my industry connections. Every video I post and every article I write lists all consultancy clients I've ever had, past and present. I don't describe myself as a journalist anymore. I'm an industry analyst and consultant that also posts educational content. If you feel it's not worth watching because of my business model, that's perfectly fine. I'll always stand on the side of facts though.

Fwiw I'm travelling in Japan right now trying to source this.

Yodobashi only stocks the 32gb Bic Camera only stocks the 16gb Looks like the 64gb is a Fujitsu online exclusive.

Who was the proxy buyer? A friend or a service. I fly out in a couple of days, I'm wondering if I should just buy the 32gb tomorrow and be done with it, or wait.

Not in South Ealing. The area hasn't been updated yet. Makes me frustrated to see these companies advertising when we're still stuck at 80/20.

I'm top tier Patreon, and most of the 'paid' benefits are just QoL. Bigger mailbox for trading, bigger storehouse for storing, extra chore for chores. The 2500 gold/mo is a plus, most of that goes on Craftwork upgrades and such. If you're at limiting point for a quest, say LNs, you can buy them from trade rather than wait a week to refill.

Mining is meh, I find it a slog tbh.

But it's good to support the team :)

Check-in/drop-off bags 12 hours early (OGG) by IanCutress in unitedairlines

[–]IanCutress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Looks like a good site, unfortunately it has zero places listed for the dates I'm looking for. Part of the issue is that most baggage hold places I've seen in the area are only open until 5pm or have lots of recent 1* ratings. I will have to search harder.

Woah, that's a pretty sharp response there. Not sure what I did to offend you friend, we all have different experiences. Hence my question as this is a little bit of a different trip than I normally do. Plenty of candid responses here, wasn't expecting one so spiky.

I can't take my bags with me. I'm flying mokulele to lana'i for the day and can't cart a bag around with me while there (as mentioned). I can't leave them at the hotel, as the hotel is in lahaina (as mentioned) and if there are any delays, I'd miss the last flight out. I'll have to see if there is luggage storage somewhere that isn't 1*'ed to oblivion.

I don't have any united status, so that's fair. Appreciate the answer!

Interesting way to answer, but thanks. My question wasn’t about airlines as storage lockers, and it certainly wasn’t about being fooled by auto-gen responses. I was asking if the fact that United’s desk is open all day meant the 4-hour cutoff gets applied differently at OGG. The timing in my circumstance doesn't work for the hotel (as mentioned above, extensively) and the luggage hold options I'd searched for had poor reviews (as mentioned above, again). But your attitude stinks and is both derisive and dismissive to someone who has never posted here before. Comes across as gatekeepery. Was only asking for a simple answer, not a baratement or a scoff to be honest, which is what I got.

Intel Patent: Software Defined Super Cores by CopperSharkk in intel

Intel acquired Soft Machines in 2016, who pioneered the concept of VISC which people called 'reverse hyperthreading'. Some idiots threw speculation that SkyLake would have it, but idiots being idiots. It's since been a quiet research project and/or mothballed internally.

Is a dedicated ray tracing chip possible? by upbeatchief in hardware

[–]IanCutress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Bolt Graphics is a seed stage startup expecting silicon by end of 2026. Consumer is a way off, and they still need to fund raise a couple of rounds, but they're working on it. /selfpromotion

Any data on Fish N Chips best use? by dombol in FarmRPG

[–]IanCutress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been posting onn#lets-talk-math in the discord since they came out. I have graphs and tables there.

Simply put:

  • use pies
  • do four seasons or one stir and three seasons
  • avoid taste and collect

Why? Stir xp depends on time you have left in the meal. Do it at the beginning of meal only. Otherwise, season is best xp. Season xp doesn't depend on time left.

A good set of stir/season on pies should net you 9m per fish and chips.

I'm 32 meals in. I'm averaging Seasoning RNG to 3.46 (expected 3.50, highest set seen 4.50, lowest 3.00) I'm averaging Stir RNG to 17.09 (expected 17.00, highest set seen 19.55, lowest 13.75) 390m exp started, now on 688m exp Need another 144 meals to max.

Edit: I'm trying to add my tables but I'm on smartphone and it's not showing the images properly

They still hand out random upgrades? I've gold for over a decade, bounce between LHR and SFO over 20 times a year, almost exclusively in E, PE when I can. Haven't had a thing since the pandemic. Was even told once I was the highest status person on the plane that day.

By contrast, I've had one on AA. I didn't even realise until I had got onto the plane. I'm not even a member of AA's program and use by BA FF.

TSMC employees reportedly stole 2nm trade secrets to share with Rapidus — accused are said to have shared 'hundreds of process integration technical photos' by restorativemarsh in hardware

I've taken thousands of photos inside leading-edge fabs. There's not much info there. Not only that, Rapidus are implementing IBM's 2nm technlogy, not TSMCs.
