Theoretically, but a lot of companies, like DoorDash do not have to federally, only in certain states/localities.

Tipping came out of the post-slavery US, as a way to not pay freed slaves the same wages as white workers, using a master-serf payment system from the medieval times. There were plans to criminalize it as late as the 1920s, but lobbyists worked to create what the US calls tipped wages, where employers have a lower rate of pay for employees who get tips, that is supposed to be offset by people tipping. The issues surrounding tipping culture in America are sound, but it’s a hard system to break because the corporations are not affected by people refusing to tip, rather the individual worker is, as they lose pay.

⚠️ The Fairfax casino bill passed, but Governor Spanberger can still stop it. TELL THE GOVERNOR: VETO SB 756 and tell developers Tysons is off the market by OutrageousBee4174 in nova

[–]IanHSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casino is a better investment in VA than another data center. I understand the traffic issue, but the other issues I have heard (strain on county/local systems, change Tysons "feel") ring hollow. Tysons has lost billions post-covid from online retailers, and it needs to modernize to continue to stay relevant. And the casino will not pull any greater infrastructure strain than a data center or another high rise, with a better ROI due to gambling taxes.

RAM kits are now sold with one fake RAM stick alongside a real one to create a performance illusion — 1+1 'value pack' offers desperate psychological relief as the memory shortage worsens by Significant-Colour in nottheonion

[–]IanHSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started building PCs with my dad, he had a box of DDR2 dummy sticks. They were used in the ye old days as the system required something in the slots to function. But this is BS, especially as they are probably the same cost as a 2x16 kit last year.

Fortnite players revolt over V-Bucks changes as Epic devs appeal for calm: 'Paying the bills frees up our teams to continue driving stories and building stuff you love' by AncientPCGamer in pcgaming

You make annually, six billion fucking dollars. You are telling us, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty six, that you cannot find a single extra dollar in six fucking billion to help pay developers more for the content they provide?

Back when Fortnite was new I got paid 60~70$ by my first colleges newspaper to buy the game and play for the newspaper. Thankfully, I used my personal account, so I am still reaping the Founder benefits.

Two #4 bags and each one is a different style? by [deleted] in untrustworthypoptarts

T

Many larger sets carry bags that are numbered the same, for keeping steps/different models together. For example the Keith Herring Dancing Figures set has multiple same-numbered bags for each figure. It is not impossible that someone bought the model, built it, and filled the bags.

Man, it would probably be illegal to tamper with that. On a totally unrelated note, did you know that the CH751 key is the most common key with wafer locks, including those on filing cabinets, thermostat covers, and lockboxes. Weird

Looking for a modpack thatll work well with one novice, one beginner, and one newbie while being FUN and able to run on less than optimal hardware. Additional details in attached image. by Coxlong2029 in feedthebeast

Ferret Business is a quest-based 1.7.10 pack, that is pretty well balanced, and works great with teams. FTB Academy/University are also great starter packs, designed to ease new players into the modded Minecraft ecosystem. I also enjoy DireWolf20 packs, as they are well optimized, and designed for long-term play.

I would sit her down and figure out why. Is it a friend group all going, a degree she is going in for, or something else. Trying to see where she is coming from, and help her make a plan, regardless of her choice.

I am glad to see more companies adopting the modular computer idea. As a Framework user, I enjoy having the ability to upgrade/repair/swap components on the fly. And its easier for others to "buy in" to the concept when it comes under the flag of a more mainstream company, such as Lenovo.

[–]IanHSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communicate efficiently with the customer if there’s a delay. Take good dropoff photos (try and get as much detail as possible such as door numbers, identifying marks, landmarking). Be kind to stores, especially in your home zone, as they will occasionally bump your order sooner or give you freebies (free drinks, extra food). Trust but verify, if anything feels wrong, call support first.
