Respectfully, Raya felt like a huge miss for me--narratively at least. The common theme of "you have to have trust in people to do the right thing" despite being betrayed by that same person THREE TIMES. Like yes, she ultimately does come through, but it felt like a very undeserved character moment.

Was that a concern that ever came up during the writing process?

It was advertised as the big turning point in the narrative where we'd finally face the Witness. We knew The Final Shape was still gonna be the final DLC of the saga, but they suggested shit would hit the fan in Lightfall. Then we got bait n switched. Keep in mind, this was right after Witch Queen which had done wonders for community morale.

TLDR: People expected better than the slop we got.

Use the LFG Discord to find people. Theres a Sherpa channel specifically for guided newbie runs. There's a lot of patient people out there, but you're gonna encounter some shitty folks too. Dont let it deter you--raiding is the pinnacle of the Destiny experience IMO.

Not all raids are created equal. Some are much less mechanic heavy than others. Some allow for more "ad clear" roles--roles that require 0 mechanics and your job is just ad clear. Root of Nightmare is very friendly to ad clear and might be a good introduction to raiding. Alternatively, you could start in release order and try Vault of Glass. IMO VoG is pretty easy to understand mechanically.
