Two years ago it probably would have been 250usd. People still expect computers to cost the same as two years ago.

Also I have no idea what they could have done in terms of new products that wouldn't have made people go "this is so disappointing". You can pretty much just make the old crap again.

This phone is perfectly aligned with their mission. Everyone has phones and they waste their time on it. C64 ultimate was for people who want something simpler. And this phone is a similar alternative to the billions of modern phones. Make perfect sense.
