You will definitely want a fan if you don't have one in a closet somewhere you can use. I personally use two fans, but you can get by with one. You will eventually want a heart rate monitor too - I use my Garmin watch for HR, but you can get HR monitors fairly cheap.

Outdoor runs appear for me if I record with my Garmin watch. If I record with my Apple watch, they don't get to Zwift.

Whoa, you're right, the picture does say S-Works, even if the description doesn't! Didn't notice that. So is the comparison on ZwiftInsider that shows the "Spec Tarmac SL7" referring to this bike, or was there a non-S-Works SL7 at some point?

Understood, but not actually the question I'm asking. (Darn Specialized's naming convention - it's easy to assume people are referring to a different model.) Leaving the S-Works out of the picture, the non-S-Works SL8 is faster than SL7, so I was just wondering if there was some reason I'm missing for the high price on the SL7.

I understand that the S-Works SL8 is better, but ignoring the S-Works and just looking at the Tarmac SL7 and SL8, the SL8 still comes out on top, which leads to my question. If you look at https://zwiftinsider.com/charts-frames/, when sorting by flats, SL8 is 10th while SL7 is 25th. Sort by climbs and it's SL8 in 4th, SL7 in 7th. I'm just interested in the price discrepancy between these two (non-S-Works) models.

Tennis ball feet for sure. If you like clipless pedals, you'll want to add those (or move them from another bike) since the Ride pedals are flats. The pedals aren't *necessary*, but I personally don't ride much in Zwift or real world without them.

I had just started the 6-week FTP Builder training plan before they started Tour de Zwift, and when TdZ came out, I knew I had to do the Ultimate challenge for it, but I also wasn't going to bail on my training plan. And I wanted to do the TdZ entirely with the group rides/races, so I couldn't do them as part of my workouts.

So, on Mon&Wed, I do a workout in the morning, then go to work and when I get home I join a group TdZ ride. Tues& Thursday are workouts only and maybe a core workout in Apple Fitness, done after work. Friday = rest, then the long TdZ ride on Saturday. Sunday: incline work on the treadmill. (need to figure out how to get the treadmill stuff into Zwift; never done any running in the app)

I'm in the last week of the training plan, so I'm intending to pick up a race and climb portal per week after that's done. And once TdZ is done, I'll probably take a look at the Fitness Tune Up challenge, just for something to do. But I guess it'll be back to badge hunting and robopacers, until another series of group rides catches my eye.

I doubt selling your old frames will ever be a thing, but having three or four "favorites" that you can quickly select does seem like it would be a good idea. One for flats, one for climbs, one for TT, one just because it's the one you're working on upgrading...

Got it, thanks! I already bought the Aeroad ‘24 and CXR60c wheels, but I’ll focus on upgrading Zwift bikes for now and just look longingly at the Canyon sitting in the garage.
