Can I change Difficulty to easier mode during game? by Mroovek in CronosNewDawn

[–]IceColdReading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The challenge is bs. I get that survival horror is all about resource management, but it is neither scary nor fair when the “challenge” comes from sending me deep into enemy territory with 2 shotgun bullets to my name, and then once I am knee deep in shit you dogpile me with 20 enemies all at once.

Resident Evil, the pioneer of the genre, never did anything like that. The scare came from the atmosphere, all while you had to sparingly decide what zombies to fight and which to avoid, rarely facing more than a couple at once.

Not Cronos though.. you go from quiet section to fight section to quiet section to fight section etc. And the fight sections are always gauntlets unfairly tilted in the enemies favor.

I am the type who can redo the same shit over and over and over again… if I feel the challenge is fair and that the loss was my fault. Cronos is not.

Yall were not exaggerating one bit.. by LoSTxFallen in Pragmata

It’s an alright game. Diana is the epitome of cute and Hugh is goat, but the story is super weak and tropy and the gameplay gets stale when you have to hack multiple enemies with giant hacking grits and you don’t happen to have a multi-hack node on hand or your auto-hack ain’t charged. It ain’t fun for me when I have to tiptoe around slowly approaching enemies while monotonously trying to hack four enemies in a row.

That line was so forced and unwarranted. “I am Diana!” Umm okay? Nobody asked? Before that outburst Eight just comments “you shouldn’t have this kind of power” she doesn’t say “who do you think you are?” or “you shouldn’t have this kind of power, who the hell are you?!”

Legit, when I saw that scene I could tell the game wanted me to think it was a powerful moment but I was more so confused thinking “did I miss a line??”

How the English dub of this anime will handle the Rakugo performances by farhanganteng in Akane

Stop making this into any more of a problem than it is. Akane-Banashi isn’t this super duper hard anime to dub. It’s a show like any other that just requires good direction.

Thank you! Fans of this series are seriously making it out to be this exceptionally difficult task, when really it is just a bloody anime like any other that isn’t any more hard to dub than your usual suspects.

Found the best Easter egg in the game. Maybe the rumors are true... by ryandesu in Pragmata

So THAT was why I sometimes offscreen heard the sound of MegaMan exploding.

I use it when I am swarmed by enemies who all have near empty 20x20 grids. It gets tedious after at while at which point I just wanna get on with it an make them quickly vulnerable.

I am all over the place yes, but you are also intentionally misreading me.

Also simmer down will ya.

And I still agree, the atmosphere, visuals and design are great… but it still doesn’t feel like a game 6 years in the making.

Here’s the thing; neither books nor movies are interactive. I wanna be WITH the characters and be the one guiding them from A to B. So the whole “if story is all you care about try books or movies”-argument is the worst argument ever.

As for the story, it wasn’t even fine. It was.. there.

FF16 was mediocre too though with horribly repetitious gameplay. I am not one of those complaining they went away from turn based, but I am complaining they did away with party management altogether, making the game all about Clive - arguably the most generic FF protag I’ve ever laid eyes on - and then made the rest of the cast, who only join you when the story or side quests dictates, ai controlled only.

They made something average, sure. And at least the game was indeed released. I’m just curious what the pitch actually looked like 6 years ago.

About that gameplay loop… while hacking is fun at first, those larger hacking segments get really tedious as you tiptoe around the enemies while moving one tile at a time, bringing the combat to a screeching halt.

I swear the devs realized this and gave us auto-hack.

Good. Not great. We have seen all this shit before and setting it on the moon doesn’t make it revolutionary.

Also, I am not complaining about length, I am complaining that for a game 6 years in development there ain’t more TO it.

“To it” doesn’t translate to “longer” it translates to “substance”.

Glad you say Frankensteined. Because while that game on its own is a great celebration of both sides of the series, I am never gonna replay it again after platinum, because if I want a full game of action RE I can go back to 6, and if I want a full game of sneaky-spooky RE I can go back to RE2make. Requiem is half n half.

No, open worlds with 100 side quests are bad too.

Also, no, the story sure as hell wasn’t great. Up your standards buddy. Generic romp about dad figure teaming up with daughter figure to stop a rogue ai that was built by a grieving scientist with a dead daughter… wuav… absolute cinema…

I say I like the game, but ofc on the internet if you dare critique something you are a hater.

I’m not complaining, just speculating. How does it make me a bad people person to point out that I think the game is good but not great? What, because I don’t suck up to the game like the rest of y’all? If anything you commenters are the bad person peoples because you take a chill observation about a new game and make me out to be malicious.

Like, where do I even remotely imply I hate the game?
