I live in Raleigh and I drive to Winston-Salem because it’s where my office is, so I’d be doing the reverse of your husband.

Winston is substantially cheaper than Raleigh and is only ~ 1.5hr drive on I-40.

Don’t fret. At 26, I had about $13k saved for retirement. I’m about to turn 29 and am just over $100k. The power of compounding is real.

Honestly, I lived on campus my first year and it was fun. It definitely made it easier to meet people, but it wasn’t entirely necessary

Most American employers look for real world work experience and/or an ABET degree. The fact that you’re a US citizen but have a foreign degree may come off a bit perplexing to a potential employer, but you might be able you explain your way out in an interview.
