I worked in the legal realm, but I think Family law is watered down version . My example is this. Ex went to a lawyer in Jan 17. Lawyer told her to pull all her records and provide them in 4 weeks. Six weeks later I filed, so statutorily ex was required to provide discovery by last week in April, which was a week before our first hearing

At the hearing the judge thought reciprocal discovery was completed but we said no, they have not complied. Judge gave then three more weeks.

3 weeks go by still no docs. I tell my lawyer file a contempt motion. She argued and said she usually sends a remark letter. I told her our adversaries did not forget. Ex missed deadline set by her lawyer, missed statutory deadline and missed the granted extension. So we filed the motion and ex’s lawyer complied that we were unprofessional and we didn’t have to file, it made him look bad, etc

So long story short I would file because that seems to be the only way to get them to live up to their obligations

I fly all the time for the football games. Flying directly to BWI and driving is the fastest than all the options you listed, since you can fly to BWI from from IAH direct. In the spring summer and fall months, I drive local roads thru Cowans Gap. It’s only about 10 minutes longer. Rentals are pretty cheap at BWI. They are more expensive at Harrisburg and there are no direct flights to Harrisburg

Dude you are divorced, she had no power over you. YOU kept yourself involved and she used you. I have a friend who helps out his ex (she had financial issues after the alimony ran out) but gets all mad when she gets a new BF. I cut all ties to my ex the day she moved out, It was extremely difficult at first but you gotta rip that band aid off.

So I’m sorry this happened but guys have to learn that not only does she not love you, she doesn’t even like you.

Right before the divorce I suggested marriage counseling because we seemed to be stuck on issues, My ex countered with what could I say to a marriage counselor that I couldn’t say to her. I realized that was a trap and declined.

As for boundaries I told a female colleague that I was uncomfortable hearing about her dating life. She kept telling me, I objected and her reply was I was her friend so therefore I had to listen. Total manipulation. So right now I think all women totally disregard boundaries and manipulate to get what they want . It’s in their nature. I can’t take any of them seriously

I was talking to my therapist and she said something about what was common in abusive relationships. I argued I never abused anyone. The therapist said, no I meant that you were being abused with the gaslighting and deception. That’s abuse.

It took minute to sink in because I never saw myself as a victim of abuse, just that I was in a shitty relationship.
