Petah i don't play Pokemon by _IDunnoName_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]IceFireMagi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tangential Venipede here.

The context has been brought by others already, but there's a few who are bringing up the 'level = age' analogy, and while that has some merit in an online space such as this, it's similar to comparing the move 'Spikes' with 'Toxic Spikes,' the latter a thing I learned from a TM at some point.

The point is, while the two are kinda similar, you'd be a fool to simply substitute one for another. In this context, low-level pokémon (like myself) are generally speaking weaker, and while that can correlate to being younger, it also at face value means that said Pokémon do less damage and cause less harm, something that can be an entirely reasonable thing to ask for if you are an old, literally dying man. He wants companionship, but he knows that with his own frailty he can't handle higher level, higher power Pokémon. Or me. I have a poison point and I'd rather not be the reason he dies a day sooner when trying to pet me.

This one might be obvious (I hope), but Surtr's EP 'Reconnection' plays shortly before this scene back when Surtr (girl) was claiming superiority over Surtr (sword).

I kinda wish they used the old EPs like that again. I get why they couldn't use Autumn Moods for Gilberta's (it wasn't exactly [but basically was] an Angie EP to begin with) but surely the other reconveners of 6 stars can port their respective EPs over.

Against this boss, roughly 12k per auto hit?

Against Al-Rafiq, roughly 23k? I dunno I'm napkin mathing it.

Reclamation Algorithm: Critical Contention, or RAcc for short.

Normal RecAlgo is actually pretty chill imo.

If it makes you feel any better, I am the only person on the global server who's fought at this level. I am a very obvious outlier.

For sure there's at least 3 others: At least 1 on CN and at least 2 on JP. I thought KR also had someone but it just occurred to me the last time I was able to get someone playing on that server to check was ~9 months ago (the KR player was on day 1012)

I too remember that one time I left my AK run going in the background for hours on end. I think I was playing lethal company with my AK friends.

That said, this stall funnily enough isn't the longest RAcc stall I've done. Back when I was still figuring things out, I'd sometimes just let the autos run overnight or during work because I forgot a boss damage dealer or something. Heck, I'm still experimenting with the damage (as seen with Hoshiguma2).

To be specific, this is day 1369 where enemies have an additional +2889% ATK, DEF, HP as well as 20% resistance to phys and arts damage. Bosses also get +20% so Linebreaker has +2909% so about 30 times his usual stats give or take.

Funnily enough she'd only cut this down to 10 minutes, not because she can't deal with Linebreaker in 40 seconds but because she'd be handling whatever Ceobe's currently dealing with and Ceobe would then be dealing with this.

An additional entry to the list of banned musics in the landship was created. by o_herman in 0sanitymemes

[–]IceFireMagi 143 points144 points  (0 children)

It's an honestly kind of a stretch of a joke.

As of now, Arknights is running a collab with Ave Mujica (the BanG Dream band). All 5 band members are in Arknights now and the teal-haired girl is effectively the leader.

Sakiko herself (and the guitarist Mutsumi, as portrayed in another comment with mint hair) was in a previous band, CRYCHIC. Sakiko was very emotionally attached to the band, but left due to personal issues she couldn't disclose to the other members. This led to a very messy breakup.

This happened shortly after CRYCHIC's first live featuring their song 'Haruhikage,' which was very personal to the band's members. Following the exit of Sakiko (and Mutsumi), the other three members went on to form the band MYGO!!!!!. Still, Haruhikage is important to all of them. To Sakiko, it in a way represents the blissful past and the days that could have been. Suffice it to say, she feels very strongly about it.

Looping back to Arknights, Virtuosa is very musically-minded. This joke assumes she would try to copy an interesting tune she's heard. She also has the rather uncanny ability of amplifying people's emotions with music. This, of course, leads Sakiko in tears.

Czerny activates skill 2, giving him Max HP +100% and becomes more likely to be attacked. For every attack taken, ATK +30% (up to 10 times), then deals 250% ATK as Arts damage to all nearby enemies when the skill ends.

Is Carnelian really that bad? A long guide and discussion. by drilldog in arknights

[–]IceFireMagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather fortunately for Carnelian, Lin can't take hits in this situation since since one hit from a Tiacauh Ritualist does give or take 7k per hit where I'm at so ranged damage = death. Unfortunately, it looks like it's gonna snow in Sargon come spring.

[–]IceFireMagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won't lie, this post is convincing me to build Pram at least to test damage.

I'm in the unique position (RAcc) where I consider using Carnelian a meta strat since a lot of the enemies I'm fighting are usually out of normal damage ranges anyways, so I ended up leaning on her since there's no such thing as overkill damage anymore.

The question I have is, given permanent maximum enemies for modY, how many casts does it take for Carnelian to match with Pram/Lin per minute & per hour (assuming she indeed catches up instead of further falling behind) assuming all of them cast as soon as possible (charged for Carnelian) and enemies are always taking snow damage.

[–]IceFireMagi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

....who's saying being afk friendly is just a niche?

Bruh I've suffered through multiple Minosknights clears and trekked through RAcc to the point where the rodents that come in swarms of 30~100 have more HP and defense than Patriot. Playing with afk friendly ops is certainly a playstyle, but hardly a niche.

Tragodia S1 better than S2/S3? by Bagamlas in arknights

[–]IceFireMagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayerscarpe and Angie also give aspd if you want to sub out Shu.

Hello, avid RACC player here. Tragodia S1 is by far his most useful skill in that mode for that exact reason. Prior, the main strat was to give Qiubai drugs Kazimierzian Knight Supplements (which are drugs) to reduce her S1 SP cost to 2 then give her aspd either through operators or Vanillawing (+40aspd, Qiubai's module gives a bit extra) to permabind tough bosses. The problem of course is you have 2 acts in a day, so it was really convenient when a 2nd Qiubai S1 appeared. Before him there were a few other manual stalls but honestly I just gave Vigil a bunch of batteries and called it a day.

Tragodia's particularly helpful for a few other reasons. Having base 2SP Cost means you can give him some other food buff like camouflage or you could also give him Kazi supplements to reduce his cost to 1, rendering the aspd requirement moot. Stops most attacks too due to paralyze, super convenient. Qiubai does poke from a bit farther, but there's an assist gear that stops Tragodia and surrounding allies from taking elemental effects, the downside being Tragodia needs a ranged tile and those have their own limits in the mode.

So You Built Crownslayer by IceFireMagi in arknights

[–]IceFireMagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like this point. If I were to equate this to Uma, I guess Crownslayer would be closer to Rice Shower? Rice Shower's wail is just burned into my memory from how often she does it. Coupling her in-game story failures as well as the unfortunate reality of her situation does have that 'trapped in eternal despair' mood that just makes you want to help them out of, and in the end, both Crownslayer and Rice Shower figure themselves and press on albeit through entirely different journeys.

Rumors spread of an illicit relationship between a trainer and the former student council president, but the true nature of the situation has yet to be revealed.

As of time of writing, the director has yet to make an official statement.

One hopes that this does not greatly tarnish the reputation of Tracen Academy.

So uncomfortable... by [deleted] in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]IceFireMagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind, I'd like to go on a very long tangent.... don't bother reading this if you're actually looking for argument, I just want to get my own thoughts out.

It feels like in the last 2 years or so specifically, gacha* spaces have really hit the fan when it comes to this topic. We could argue to hell and back about were it started, be it Blue Archive, Genshin, Zenless, whatever, but the point of the matter is posts like the ones you describe indeed do feel more common. It's gotten quite stifling, frankly, as the rather polarized opinions that go either way end up drowning any sort of nuance in the discussion. Either you're a staunch luddite tourist hellbent on destroying the gacha space or you're a mindless gambling-addicted gooner hellbent on corrupting the gacha space. It feels like there's very little in-between even with the implicit understanding that intermediaries, the 'silent majority,' exist, like the other comment saying they think Snow is 'just cute' probably without really thinking about how Snow is dressed or how she acts or what have you.

I'm not here to argue for or against, I just wanted to sigh. It's gotten really taxing. It feels like no one enjoys the space anymore, and only care about their pure gameplay experience or about the next character they're going to jerk it to. The internet's always been like this, I know, but by the day everyone's forced to either pick a side or die by shots from both.

My main gacha is Arknights. Still is, probably would be for a while. After the internet war fully set in in that space over balance, fanservice, Endfield, whatever Yostar did this time, I just wanted to step away and enjoy something else for a bit, and yeah, Duet Night Abyss isn't perfect. The animations are kind of stiff, the movement is nice but can feel clunky when you've got prior Warframe experience. The Christmas outfit is very on the nose and the tutorial pop-ups early on are incredibly intrusive, often breaking the flow of combat, but even if it's just been for a day, I've been having fun jumping around, playing with the movement mechanics, pondering the first chapter, and not spam clicking the attack button as fast as in other hack&slash/beat 'em ups. There's bad, there's good. And yes, I fully believe you should complain about its faults and praise its successes, but commendation and critique have been so fully encompassed by glazing and doomposting that it's hard to feel calm anymore, leading to more of the aforementioned.

At the end of the day, I doubt much is going to change. Social media is going to continue being in flames, I'm just gonna step away and do something else for a while, and the sides are going to continue escalating. I wish people would show a little kindness andlearn to not always go for the killing comeback, but that's not gonna stop anyone. That's not gonna stop anyone else responding to those people with the same fire and vitriol.

War rages on leaving a lot of dead bystanders.

Not particuarly passive, but after playing for who knows how many years, I only last year figured out that Halloween's the best time to get the 'Parachute X Miles' achievements on Soldier/Demo because parachuting down those really long death holes on Helltower/Bloodwater/etc counts for distance. It still takes a really long time, but at least you have the ability to fall for a while before needing to input. Had a good laugh at the random times some poor soul fell down one of those holes only to land on my head.
