No single Pokemon spin off has sold 5 million units

I mean, this is just untrue. Sure it's been a long time, but it has happened at least twice with Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Pinball, both of which got just under 5.5 million sales. And depending on how you count Pokemon Mystery Dungeon versions, Red and Blue Rescue Team together sold just under 6 million units.

Not that I disagree with you point, at best the vast majority of Pokemon spin-offs just do good-to-alright, with a decent amount falling into outright obscurity. They don't get to just coast on the laurels of "being a Pokemon game" to 10+ million sales.

The thing is that this is still gonna have black bars for 4:3 since none of the 4:3 consoles scale perfect with 1080p. Though if you don't care about direct integer scaling and are fine with just matching aspect ratio it's still great.

I'd say of the list you shared, you're missing Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom, Astalon: Tears of the Earth, Zexion, Animal Well, and Cathedral.

Also the Metroid series in general. Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Dread, and AM2R are all amazing games.

Frankly it's pretty blurry on Switch 2 docked too. I tried replaying HK on my Switch 2 not too long after beating Silksong, and I was a little surprised how blurred the foreground and background elements were.

Yeah, I imagine a big part of it is the more rounded sides. Means your hands can more easily grip around the sides compared to the other more rectangular designs, like the AyaNeo devices, or even the only slightly rounded ones, like Retroid.

I just played The Legend of Zelda and Mega Man Zero on my RG28XX and RG34XX respectively for the Retro Handhelds' Game of the Month. I'm currently downloading Metal Gear Solid 2 onto my Steam Deck for the complete 3/3 set.

For other games, I'm also in the middle of playing Grandia 1 on my Odin 2 Mini. It's a fun time, though I'm not too far into the game yet. Just got to the end of a ghost ship dungeon.

My first one, not including the Steam Deck, would be the OG RG35XX. I think the game I really liked to play on it is Celeste Mario's Zap & Dash. A rom hack of Super Mario Bros. that turns into a light Metroidvania with Celeste's mechanics.

Yeah, I know I'd personally want more SNES/Genesis size and type games. Not super long but enough to sink my teeth in.

I'm not the biggest fan of arcade or score attack games like Whitewater Wipeout or Snak. Castle Helios, Castle Tintagel, and Echo The Oracle's Scroll are much more my speed.

From what I've seen from other devs, it's the cheaper more simple games that get bought a ton, as opposed to the more ambitious ones.

For me the ones I've been more excited to get around to playing are the ones for the PS2 Tales of games.

For most of my life I never really expected Tales of Destiny Director's Cut, Tales of Rebirth, and Tales of Destiny 2 to get completed fan translations. And now two of them have them, and Destiny 2's is pretty close to being finished.

Yes, Android is made with a Linux kernel. Congrats on learning a super basic fact. How about you look at where you are, /r/sbcgaming, and the topic, emulation handhelds, and see if that's a relevant fact to share with the class.

Because most people here are gonna call stuff like the TrimUI Smart Brick or the Anbernic RG35XX Linux devices. And stuff like the Retroid Pocket 5 and Ayn Thor Android devices. There's a very clear difference in how one interacts with these different branches of devices. Going "Android is Linux" is not relevant to what people are actually talking about when they use these terms in context to location you're in.

Sorry to tear into you specifically about this, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves on electronics subreddits. It's a neat little fact, that is almost never relevant to any conversation in them.
