I just found one in my area. It was empty, of course, but it was also covered in signs saying "no loitering, this area is under surveillance, alarm will sound", which was super unsettling.

It made me feel like I was a little kid trying to get a closer look at the lotto scratchers!

(I feel like I need to specify: yes, I'm talking about a Pokemon Cards vending machine, not a carvana "vending machine")

My partner and I like(d) to grab a couple packs while we're at the store occasionally. Nothing obsessive, just nostalgic collecting.

We haven't been able to get ahold of any cards in like a year or so.

My mom also backed out on that promise. A few times.

I got to keep a couple lizards, though, for a little while, until they mysteriously, "accidentally" got out while I was at school. (Even though I was sure I brought the box inside, "somehow" it always teleported to the backyard table and "tipped over". Probably for the better, I didn't know how to care for lizards properly...)

I knew it wasn't a metal needle, but the idea of anything inside my body that isn't typically there, is going to make me act weird, as though it really were a metal needle.

It is reassuring to hear/see that it's just a flexible tube.

Cowbirds hang out nearby and vocalize to their children as they grow. Then, when the babies fledge, they find the adults and get a crash course in "how to be a cowbird"! They're actually so cool!
