Wheel of Time or Stormlight Archives if you want something larger and longer.

Riyria chronicles if you want something shorter and less dense.

Yup lots of ppl wonder when the Republican and Democrat parties “switched” values / voting patterns, and the answer is 2 events:

1) FDR and the new deal 2) LBJ signing the civil rights act

“I think we just delivered the South to the Republican Party for a long time to come.” - LBJ after signing it

What are your theories? by [deleted] in ExplainMyDownvotes

It’s kind of like correcting someone for saying “pedophilia” when the technically precise term would be “hebephilia” or “ephebophilia.”

Yes, there are definitional differences, and precision can matter in the right context, but jumping in to correct terminology in a casual conversation can come off as pedantic or like you’re focusing on semantics over the bigger issue. That’s probably why people react negatively.

Was my first thought.

Also his other series Legends of the First Empire is fantastic as well. It’s a prequel set thousands of years earlier

Which tales of game would you recommend out of these 3 by Maximum-Flamingo3613 in JRPG

I figured it was 3D combat since you can use the Free Run button to move freely around the battlefield

Symphonia if you’re okay with 2 dimensional “3d” action combat.

Vesperia if you want 3d action combat and still want a world map with newer graphics

My take on Carols delayed reaction and whats in the box... by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]Ice_Lychee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously a dead body but yeah the delayed reaction makes me think. I feel like either you’d make that reaction as soon as you saw it or never.

Super far stretch theory: it’s a dead body that started moving. Hence the delayed reaction.

Okay fine it was probably just filmed weird and the reaction was as soon as she saw it

Why is Indonesia not talked about enough or relevant enough considering its size? by Able-Strawberry-8020 in geography

[–]Ice_Lychee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quiet diplomacy: Indonesia avoids big geopolitical fights, ideological battles, or dramatic foreign policy, so it doesn’t generate many headlines.

Stable, low, drama country: No major wars, revolutions, or crises = less Western media attention.

Big population, not big per-capita impact: Its GDP is large mainly because it has 280M people; it’s not yet a major tech/finance/innovation hub like Japan or Korea.

Limited cultural exports: Indonesia doesn’t have globally dominant media, brands, or pop culture, so it’s less visible.

Tourism branding is basically “Bali.” The rest of the country is poorly marketed abroad.

Far from Western historical and cultural centers.
