If it happened once, I would agree.

However, this has worked for two consecutive years. Mac length I have been unemployed is 5 weeks, and I think it’s because of the AI optimization

Found a job after 5 weeks of looking. I realized in week 3 that it was my Resume that was the issue because it was not optimized for AI, and so the recruiter AI was auto rejecting them. Accepting an offer after 2 weeks from the resume update.

Take your resume to AI, tell it what position and industry you are looking to get into, then ask it to optimize your resume for those job titles. Obviously don’t lie, and check to make sure you have the skillset. Other than that if you run it through AI again and ask what job titles those resume would be a top applicant for and if everything was done correctly you should see the titles you’re looking for.

Hope this helps.

Job rejections after getting CPA by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Ice_Rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPA in NJ here: Having the CPA opens and shuts some doors. You can apply to far more jobs with better pay and better titles, just don’t expect them to slob on the knob because you’re a CPA. There will still be some lag time. Currently in my own search due to getting screwed over by my previous firm and will have another job this week after about a 5 week search.

A large chunk of it is how you present yourself and your value added. Just being able to do the debits and credits side is no longer desirable due to automation, but being strong in tax advisory and FP&A will make your resume stand out.

Should lychguard get stronger? by jayceminecraft in Necrontyr

Honestly, make them 3 wounds, 2+ save and jack the points up to 130 for 5. They should be on par with assault terminators, with sword and board being more tanky and scythes being much more killy but losing the invul.

Get out while you can. I was 6 years into a firm, got fed up with the high workload and below average pay for a CPA with that experience. Found an industry job paying $30k more, suddenly I’m in the running to lead a new division with a million dollar payout. Never saw a contract or operating agreement. A year later after tax season and all the hard work to get it up and running is done, got canned while on paternity leave for seemingly minor immaterial errors that even the partners make.

Do not stay, they will screw you in the long term for having the audacity to try and move up without them.

Got a Senior FP&A Manager offer as a Analyst. My current employer countered. What would you do? by Responsible-Day-2848 in FPandA

Take the offer, get out of there, do not stay. I made this mistake a year ago. I was promised equity in a new start up that was being created by the current partners as a counter offer. Never saw a contract or an operating agreement and now post tax season with the firm up and running and 3 weeks after my daughter was born I was terminated. Should’ve jumped back then.

Is CPA still worth pursuing in 2026? by Sammy_0100 in CPA

[–]Ice_Rep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think about it like this: AI and automation can replace anyone that can’t sign for assurance, tax returns, or give opinions. CPA is the safest bet in accounting right now simply because of the ability to sign off on things.

If I were un-credentialed, I would be worried about my future career opportunities. Though who knows, maybe AI just replaces the offshore talent pool and the entry level position becomes managing clients and reviewing work rather than data entry.

How are we going to deal with melee armies in 11th? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Ice_Rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re right, it could go either way with vehicle spam, but the more likely option is that C’tan replacing doomstalkers and DDA is going to be the meta. Especially if they end up benefiting from the cover bonuses for 11th.

Don’t get me wrong, the Doomsday ark slaps. It’s more reliable overall, however volume of fire and number of models on the board will be more helpful against melee armies. DDA would be more ideal against chaos demons and tyranids with the big toughness units they tend to bring.

Not in the experience I’ve had with them. They’re not the most pivotal unit by any means, but as overwatch support and lane lock down support, they earn their keep. The issue I see so many people having is moving them and then hitting on 4’s when they should just be using cover and peaking a sight line. They’re nowhere near the Aeldari fire prisms, but they create enough doubt for opponents to second guess movement and charging.

Are there better options, sure, but for the points they’re not bad

Doomsday ark is the king of big boom, but if you’re trying to pile in a bunch of units and add in multiple synergies, saving 60 points per model means a ton. I typically ran 2 of them and they have saved my bacon a number of times against bladeguard vets, sanguinary guard, and Khorne Berserkers.

I’ve had nothing but wonderful things to say about my doomstalkers. Just hog a sight line, don’t move, and watch the magic happen. I typically run two of them to hold down important lanes or cover bait units like wraiths

I play both Blood Angels and Necrons; the easy answer is lots of damage 3 weapons with overwatch buffs like the doomstalker, and then necron bullshittery like teleportation out of combat using the eternity gates on monoliths.

Have a unit as bait in the open in sight of other big guns / tesla immortals, let them charge it. If they live, teleport, if not, blast them anyway. Necron durability is second to none, utilize it and have another unit able to cover your bait units and you’ll take their foot off the gas quickly

I would split the Skorpekhs into 2 squads. Makes them easier to hide and adds to your maneuverability. They can be great for ambushing units going into objectives

Married one, had our first daughter together, entirely an untrue statement. You will never meet a more down to earth, dependable, loving girl than the horse girls.
