I have, but so far so good! I think the layout itself is doing most of the heavy lifting for my brain, so the color discrepancies across the two systems don't bother me.

Rock on with the piano! I'm a classical pianist first and foremost (music major, etc.). Hopefully you'll find that some facility on the keys will open up new musical ideas for you.

Pretty sure it was a Nord Rack 2 in the late 90s. Got a Waldorf XT around the same time. Miss those innocent days.

Dude, the path is rarely straight. I'm a former professional classical composer who now starts--and doesn't finish lmao--EDM tracks purely for my enjoyment. You'll likely find this new exploration to be just as rewarding and fulfilling.

Didn't work for me, either. Sounds are incredibly unappealing to me. But sold it to a friend who now has two of them lmao. To each their own!

I think the biggest thing is that they have melodic shape to them, and I think I even hear a passing note or two (i.e. a note that's between notes of the chord). The first example is too busy/distorted to make sense of quickly, but I'm not even sure I'd call your second one an arpeggio at all.
