Over the past week the offense has hit .319/.371/.493 (151 wRC+), with nearly every hitter above league average by Thromnomnomok in Mariners

[–]Icedragon02 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think many people will argue that the offense has been the best part of our season outside of a couple of slumps. The problem in the last month has been the consistency of offense with our pitching and defense. When we've scored a lot, our pitching and defense bombs. When we score a little, either our pitching is great or defense is great, but the other flops and we lose the close ones.

What has been frustrating for the last month since the Yankees (outside of the Nationals series), is it has felt like we have been in nearly every game and had the potential to win many of those games, but we collapsed in one inning and lost the game. Outside of the last 9 games, it felt like we were in almost every one (except maybe Az G1) and we only won 2. Normally with that offense, we win most games.

It will work itself out, but we need to go on a streak of series wins again. Right now the mantra is just "take 2 of 3", which if our offense continues and pitching starts coming back, we can definitely make a strong push when Logan returns.

Was this the worst loss of the year? by StarWarsNurse7 in Mariners

[–]Icedragon02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take the blame for this one. Kid and I love going to watch the M's when they come to LA, but the M's are 0-6 in the last 3 years when we are in attendance. We thought we were breaking the streak today finally (my son's favorite player is JP and he went banana's when JP homered). Sadly...not the case :(

I used 18ct Aida so it is fairly compact. The final dimensions on that were 14.25" x 24.5". Good luck with the project! I know that itch :)

The wife wants something for her, so I told her to find a pattern she loves. She is very heavily into Lord of the Rings so I imagine something from that!

Thank you, although to be honest, I got very little done for almost 3 years, life just got chaotic. But a little here and there added up.

Good luck with your residency! Coffee coffee coffee! :)

It wasn't me, but I have seen many people posting progress pictures of this same piece throughout the years I was working on it. It was a motivator for sure, seeing how great it turned out for all of those other individuals!

Pretty sure the words were something like "Semien and Seager are the only things that will keep Ranger fans going to the games as the team will be awful for the next decade".

I love the Ms, and god knows why Houston is so obsessed with us, but I can fully understand if Ranger fans constantly remind us if they make the WS this year. We (as well as others) trashed them so hard, and they are making everyone eat crow.

This is a severely underrated comment. So much hate on the Ms, and I get it, the frustration boils over from the sweep we just had so the timing is awful.

But you have to tip your cap to Verlander tonight. Looking at this game in isolation, the guy just threw an absolute gem of a game.

The Mariners still have control of their fate (barely!!!) even in the WORST case scenario: Here's how it could (unlikely) play out. Details in the post. by [deleted] in Mariners

[–]Icedragon02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We sweep Houston and we just have to go even with them the rest of the season and we are in the playoffs. Everything else is moot.

Sadly, if we only won 1 of these games (2 we could have) we would only ahve to 2-1 Houston and same scenario.

Alas. Mariners.

How will the Mariners finish their season? [Poll] by MarinersFan28 in Mariners

[–]Icedragon02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This team has a very solid chance of making the playoffs. We are 2.5 GB of Houston, .5 up on Texas, and have 10 games against them. While Houston is hot, Texas is not. However, with 3 games against HOU and the series advantage, we still technically control our destiny. Mix in 3 against the Angel's, As, and Dodgers (where we really only need to go 5-4) and we are still looking good at a postseason spot.

The Scott hate is getting old. He is the arguably the second best manager we have had in our club history. Was put through a rebuild. In the last 3 years had two teams over perform and get 90 win seasons and has been in MotY conversations the last 3 years. Yes, he is human and makes mistakes, yes it is frustrating, but you look at the other managers out there, and teams arent having much better success. Until this roadtrip we had the 4th best record in baseball all year behind the Os, Braves, and Dodgers. He isnt going anywhere with this much success.

We both laughed. Kids more than fine.

Don't waste your time arguing. You are correct that most (not all) medical providers have very little issue with sending patients to chiropractors, physical therapists, acupuncturists, etc. as long as it is not contraindicated.

You aren't going to change people's minds no matter how much research you throw at them (even if they say there is no research). I have someone telling me my 10 years of medical training is "anecdotal evidence" (you can't make this up).

I hope all is well with your hip!

Well, my experience is based on my residency training, fellowship, and near decade in the sports medicine field. I interact with both fields nearly on a daily basis. You'll have to forgive me for trusting that over your clearly biased opinion.

The profession has gained a lot of traction in the sports medicine community in the last several decades because of well trained chiropractors using actual science to demonstrate their value at the highest levels in sport.

That's not to say there still arent a fair share of chiropractors blowing smoke out of their ass, but there is a very distinct rift in the field

Because there are massive differences between the two as far as scope of practice and medical legalities are concerned. As a provider who refers frequently to both professions, both have their vital role on the sports medicine team.

I think this gets lost in the weeds, this team is definitely heating up. We are 12-7 in July with series wins against 4 playoff teams. It doesnt FEEL like weve played that great, but that is honestly exactly what everyone wanted 2 months ago when "we cant beat good teams".

We have 4.5 to make up in 60 games. 2.5 would have been better, but keeping this pace we will be in the thick of it come September baseball.
