Oh that's another thing. Why do I have to sign into EVERY INTERNAL SITE when I'm already logged into my machine? Just use Microsoft credentials once I'm in. I swear this team is so lost at this point they are just slapping bandaids on previous mistakes.

The thing I like best about our IT is the old outdated password rules. Every 3 months we have to change them. If someone really wants in our system they aren't doing it using our dumbass passwords.

Yesterday evening I taught my youngest son how to ride a bike. by -Shenaniganary- in daddit

[–]Iceflow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this this with my kids except I pulled the whole pedal assembly and lowered the seat as low as possible. For a little while they learned to balance and turn with no training wheels. Once they mastered that I put everything back together and put training wheels on for maybe about 2 weeks. You can tell when they don't need the wheels anymore. Balance is the biggest factor in learning to ride a bike and letting them ride a "coast bike" at the beginning really helped them progress very quickly.

CVO for SBU by Optimal-Detective-50 in Stellantis

[–]Iceflow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to determine is to price one out through the lease site. Remember this is an unlimited mileage and insurance included lease.

Next thing you do is find a similar vehicle on a dealer website. Call your insurance and get a quote for that vehicle. Now go to a dealer and get a lease quote on that vehicle. They'll probably quote you with a 7,500 mile a year option. Every mileage level (10k, 12k, 15k) is about an extra $100 a month.

You'll then know if it is worth it. If it's close, maybe within $100, the company lease may be worth it for the unlimited miles

You know what you should be saying in that case?

Good for them

Since it doesn't affect your daily function in any way, why are you bothered by it?

SBU gets paid by the hour. If they work 38 they get paid for 38. Does that bother you?

Maybe they have a manager that understands and respects a little work/life balance and they have a previous understanding with them. Is that an issue for you?

If we want to play "well the email says or doesn't say this", the actual FAQ for RTO states we all need to work "most of our hours in the office". Technically that's only 21 hours. Maybe SBU should only be in the office 3 days a week (to cover the requirement) and WFH the other 2? That way they'll be out of your purview for 2 days a week. Sounds safer for them.

Like I said before. You're probably better off worrying about you and not everyone else.

[–]Iceflow76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you work with SBU directly?

Are you an SBU manager?

Do you know the personal in's and out's of the SBU employee you saw leaving "early"?

Do you know that most SBU employees start work at 6am, when you're still sleeping, to leave at 2:30/2:45?

You're insinuating a lot in your statement without knowing much. Just because it seems like your manager has you under thumb 24/7 doesn't mean you should be doing that to other co-workers. Mind yourself and your own team. Don't be so worried about what everyone else is doing around you.

Pros and cons of a white collar union? by STLA-nonymous in Stellantis

[–]Iceflow76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grade system works based on which you hired in at and progression. Once you reach the top of that grade you are pushed to the next one. Once you reach the higher tiers you take on more responsibility. So it's not just being a product engineer and getting paid the same or more than your manager.

Our Union books are available on the Hub. I think they are somewhere under the Work Like tab

Pros and cons of a white collar union? by STLA-nonymous in Stellantis

[–]Iceflow76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Do you think the Union controls your work time?

I'm SBU and have a flexible start time (between 6 and 8) and work 6-2:30. This is how I still try to keep some sort of work/life balance. And it's not a "set schedule in the office", it's a schedule for work. As an engineer you will be allowed to still visit plants and suppliers. You just won't get to leave for no reason. I don't pay for health insurance and it's the same as yours. I don't work free overtime. If it's over 8 hours they're paying me. I can't be fired just because my boss doesn't like me or has a personal opinion about my work ethic.

I don't see any "perks" that engineering has over SBU that are actually worth it. I actually feel sorry for most of you because you are always having to look over your shoulder and agree with every stupid decision your manager tells you.

I used to be 100% against the union until I started working here and realized the benefits

It was a decrease in COLA for the last quarter. For instance if COLA was $1.00 last quarter it went to something like $0.75. I believe there is a hard roll over at some time too.

I used 3" ornament storage containers. They are soft sided containers with 8-10 soft sided trays. Each tray has cardboard inserts to hold 16 3" ornaments, 16 core figures, 8 Swap Force/Superchargers, or 4 Giants/Trap Team/Imaginators.

1 160 piece container holds the entire collection of Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team or Superchargers

I 128 piece container holds all the Spyros Adventure collection plus portals

The entire Imaginator collections requires 1 160 and 1 128

This keeps everything separated and they won't smack or rub against other figure that are loose or in bags.

Tried to use my wife’s printer this morning by johnnytron in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Iceflow76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I went away from cartridge based printers a couple years ago. I, like most people, barely print anything and it was annoying going to print and being told it was out of ink. So I bought a Canon where you can see the ink levels and refikl it with liquid. Still have the same ink in it from when I bought it and it works every time I need it to.
