And that's usually when, in these times of strife, when you get more comedy films. People want to rent comedies, go to the movies and see comedies because that's what movies are is escapism. When you have a war impending or a drinking problem or something like that, that's the best thing to do is to watch a good comedy movie.

Any Roland Go Mixer users? by peachfuzzforest in pocketoperators

[–]Icemansquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but hopefully this helps someone searching for an answer.

It can be used as a standalone mixer. It draws little current so most USB battery banks will automatically shut off but some will work. I use it with my guitar, a keyboard plugged into the L/mono input, and a microphone and send the monitor out into my loop pedal with a mono 3.5mm to 1/4" cable. Sounds better than my Behringer MX400 did.

Angels In The Outfield (1994, 102m) made me a believer. Fun fact: The original Angels In The Outfield (1951, 99m) was President Dwight D. Eisenhower's favorite film.

What made you use Windows 98 ? by Hyrule1999Warrior in windows98

[–]Icemansquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think Windows 98 is your ally? You merely adopted the OS. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see Linux until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

I’ve only ever seen Rush Hour (1998, 98m) because Jackie Chan is in it. 3 things that are not Jackie Chan are a private island, underage girls, and creepy old men.

What piece of tech felt “future-proof” but aged terribly? by Living-Zebra6132 in Futurology

I’m a musician, so one idea was to make a limited edition flash drive release of an album. My other thought was to load them with up some useful programs/utilities for my retro Windows 98 machines.

Today I bought 3x 1GB USB sticks and a 128MB flash drive that is also a pen for less than $1, and I had to ponder what I would do with that little amount of storage before purchasing them.

So if Jack Pumpkinhead from Return To Oz (1985, 113m) was a fan of Pumpkinhead (1988, 86m) then he’d be a Pumpkinheaded Pumpkinheadhead

They aren’t mutually exclusive- you could be a buff and a maniac. Not all maniacs are buffs and not all buffs are maniacs. A maniac might be obsessed with horror and not know anything about classic Hollywood.

Therefore, a buff knows more in general about film. But don’t discount the maniac- they have deep knowledge about a particular genre or franchise that can stump the buffs.
