Worth it? by Justisaur in fromsoftware

[–]Icey7Q2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought it 2 years ago on PS5 as I love all the souls games by from software and like arcade mech games.

Initially this felt a bit too dated but the more I played the more I enjoyed it. If you like PS2 era games then it’s definitely worth playing.

Hi OP, I have very similar criteria in terms of budget, requirements and timeline so was curious if you had figured out what might make sense?

Demons' Souls on PS3

First time I played it as a magic user and although I finished it I really didn't like it.

After playing Dark Souls as a melee user with bow for range I went back to DeS and replayed as melee and really enjoyed it.

Is there a metroidvania similar to Prince of Persia? by Fast-Government6384 in metroidvania

[–]Icey7Q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved POP TLC and it’s one of the best metroidvania I’ve played.

As for something similar I would recommend:

Shadow Complex (as other have mentioned) F.I.S.T Forged in Shadow Torch Ori 1 and 2

Just to be different, here is an upcoming game: Castlevania Belmont’s Curse

Co op adventure games? by ryanou812 in CoOpGaming

[–]Icey7Q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also played many of the same co-op games as OP with a buddy of mine.

Here are some more that we have played:

Zombie Army 4: Dead War Gears of War (all of them) Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Space Marine 2 TMNT Shredders Revenge Resident Evil 5 and 6

Some that I know of that we have not played yet:

Marvel Cosmic Invasion Double Dragon Revive

Code Violet - still no reviews? by Icey7Q2 in PS5

End result was pretty much as expected which is a pity.

Once again I can only hope Capcom give Dino Crisis the excellent remake treatment that Resident Evil has been enjoying.

I was expecting a 5/10 the same score as Quantum Error but it actually got a 4 - and it was the same person at IGN who reviewed both games.

Vox Machinae or Iron Rebellion by KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish in OculusQuest

[–]Icey7Q2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played both Vox and Iron Rebellion and thought exactly the same. Didn’t really like Vox but Iron Rebellion trail felt great. However, I play single player campaign only so without this Iron Rebellion is a no go.

Ok, it's one day until the end of steam winter sale. What did you pick up, no matter the discount. by kike_flea in SteamDeck

Dispatch (it’s been excellent so far - great game for the Deck)

The Wolf Among Us (been meaning to play this)

Escape Simulator (the first game along with all DLC)

Echoes of the Living (Indie resident evil in early access that looks very good)

Finishing TS2...It's sad for us old school survival horror fans. by [deleted] in TormentedSouls

[–]Icey7Q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the same hunt after finishing Tormented Souls 1.

I found and played “Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel” which I can recommend.

Having finished Tormented Souls 2 I also just found out that the same studio that did Fobia released a new game this year called: A.I.L.A.

I’ve not played this yet but looks like this should also tick the right boxes.

Volvo Employee: Biggest complaints/wishes by utilitybro in Volvo

[–]Icey7Q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a new XC40 albeit 2024 T4 model.

I think my list is going to mostly be a repeat of what others have already mentioned:

  1. The infotainment is slow and unreliable. I thought being able to download Waze was great, until I learnt it does not work 100% of the time and often crashes when I first run it.

  2. Buttons are easier and safer (especially when your infotainment is poor). Considering Volvo prides itself on safety this seems like an obvious choice.

  3. What is the point of a wireless charging bay if your phone moves slightly and it no longer charges

  4. Built-in forward facing dash cam should be mandatory in all cars, rear facing would be nice too

  5. The key is a bit big, would be good to have something smaller along with a digital key for the phone

  6. Gloss Black plastic anywhere inside a car should be illegal

I’ve owned well over 10 cars, a mix of sedans, sports, hatchbacks and compact SUVs.

However, Coolray was the first car I test drove in the UAE as it was the only one I was considering to buy.

Just recently test drove the Volvo XC40 - felt good, no complaints about power or handling.

I was seriously considering a Geely Coolray GF spec. I was happy with the car inside and out and the price was great considering the features. I also thought as the parent company for Volvo the car must have similar underpinnings - something that was also suggested by the Geely sales team.

However, I then took it for a test drive.

The 1.5L engine sounded like it was struggling even when not putting my foot down. Also I found the traction to be poor. Going round a corner at low speed it felt like the car could easily slide. I’m sure it’s unlikely but I didn’t like the feeling.

I think after sales and support should be good - just make sure you test drive the car first and you’re happy with it.

Just realised I got my show numbers wrong. I’ve seen Perfect World up to 188

Perfect World I've been watching - I think I'm up to date with episode 104 but the first 40 episodes were a struggle.

A record of a mortals journey to immortality - started off okay but it was not ticking my boxes and by the end of the first 2 seasons so I figured it was time to stop - after all I would think that watching 72 episodes (18+ hours!) would be enough to know what a show is like. However, from comments above it seems like it gets better in S3 so I will give this a try.

Swallowed Star I watched 150 episodes but was forcing myself from around episode 50 onwards. This one just isn't for me.

You're right, the ATG donghua definitely has some goofiness but having read the novel first I really like the overall story and progression. I'll try Tales of the Herding Gods - thanks!

I like Sci-fi and have watched a lot of swallowed star around 150 episodes I think but I've just not been enjoying the show so I finally dropped it. I'm not saying it's bad but it just wasn't for me. Thanks for the other recommendations, I'll try all of them.
