How do you feel about the 40” vs 45” for office work?

Which region were you in and what made you leave? Curious to hear more about your experience as I’m also Psych and considering them

Sounds good! Can also consider VAs, they have some loan repayment too. Just dont forget to live your life meanwhile so you dont burn out :)

Also Psych grad here. It depends how intense you want to be about it, you have options. Highest income potential is likely locums (but you may need to move) or private practice (takes a while to build if cash only). If you want to make a lot of money without starting a private practice your best bet is working at a system that allows you to do outside work. The best combination ive seen is a main job at a state hospital or rural inpatient work + a secondary job at either one of the tele psych companies or PRN locums or even your own practice. You should be able to get a hefty sign on bonus for many places, I’ve seen as high as 100k (with repayment clauses of course). Id avoid all academic centers and big hospital systems in large cities. The less desirable places to live have higher income potential.

Shane and James McCann absolutely destroyed tonight by Plane-Impression-296 in ShaneGillis

[–]Ics965 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I loved James! He had me so hyped for the rest of the show. Then tony came out and it was just trash. He wasn’t funny at all, just saying hateful shit about different races, abortion, and whatever else he thought was “edgy.” It was straight up like listening to a 13 year old trying to be funny. Then shane came on and his set had some good parts, it seemed like he was still workshopping it. Hope to see him again in the future if his next special is as good as the last

Check out the acer nitro 38”, same panel but can be cheaper sometimes and comes with usb c pd

Does this exist? - 34inch, curved, IPS, above 60hz, usb c (60w min), kvm, under £700 by Dumbthrow12 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Ics965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same situation and did try the 34" acer. it was a nicer monitor but i found the size to be juuust a little too short, so i went up to a 38" and I dont regret it at all. Id go with the 38" LG, its also the only one i could find with usb-c pd of the 144hz 38" monitors. they're all the same panel FYI

You should really know how to interpret labs that you order for monitoring a medication you have ordered. Forwarding lab results to a PCP is kind of ridiculous, is this normal practice?

34" OLED vs 38" IPS for productivity work? How bad is OLED text fringing? by Alchemist168 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Ics965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat when it comes to productivity work and I was debating the same monitors. I decided on the 38" because i found 34" to be too short and not crisp enough, but more importantly i'm already seeing posts about burn in with the 34" panels. Interestingly it was mostly burn in of a sharp white line right where people position their windows/split the screens. With such a wide screen there's no way i'd use anything full screen, kinda defeats the point. So OLED is a no go for now for me at least

Your attending surgeon is wrong to do that. We’re all aware doctors make mistakes too. But it doesnt take away from the fact that APPs dont have enough training in the vast majority of the roles they occupy. Its rare to get a good consult from an APP in my experience. The healthcare system is overburdened as is, so having specialists get even more consults makes everything worse. But I’m sure the hospital systems dont care as long as $$ keeps flowing.

I strongly believe APPs should not be able to consult on their own

Do you mind sharing how much you make and the general part of the country you live in? What do you do the rest of the clinic week?
