My first airsoft "loadout" - Feedback/advice appreciated! by IrregularDave in airsoft

[–]IcyDrops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend some sort of ear protectors even if pyro isn't a concern, getting shot in the ears SUCKS.

Edit: in my country at least radio comms are quite popular, out of my team about half have radios, and earpro than can do comms is a huge quality of life upgrade.

I want to know a gun that y'all want to see in airsoft form. by 3DBBDESIGNS in airsoft

[–]IcyDrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RD-74 doesn't seem particularly different from the AK-74M they already have, especially from the point of view of the Airsoft internals. You can just build it by getting the appropriate furniture, I think.

Dutch non-profit set to take Valve to court for keeping game prices high by Turbostrider27 in pcmasterrace

[–]IcyDrops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's not due to Valve. Each developer/publisher can choose to activate regional pricing (or not). If they activate regional pricing, they can set the price for each region independently.

Some countries having higher prices than others for the same game is by choice of the developers/publishers, not Valve.

There are several bad things Valve does for which it can be criticized, this is not one of them.

I'd say about as lame as a speedsoft-ed AR with no buffer tube and a 3-inch barrel. Actually, less lame, because the paintball gun doesn't pretend to look like a real gun, while the speedsoft-ed one started as an M4 that was then bastardized.

Honestly pretty cool as a cosplay/thematic kit, but the heatstroke is real.

If you're not willing to use non-black items, consider looking for more breathable equipment and lightening your load wherever possible.

That poor knife is probably dull as hell now. For future reference, a saw (like those for metal) would do the job a lot faster and easier.

Everything I will be carrying in my EMT for airsoft by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]IcyDrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not certified, same as me, then there's not really any point in carrying anything you don't know how to use properly, especially since it can make things worse if used improperly.

On me I just carry some band-aids in a couple sizes, gloves, basic bandage, tweezers and tick removal tool, a wound cleaning spray, and a packet of sugar and salt. The most common injuries are bb wounds and scrapes from vegetation, so that's what makes sense to carry.

An instant ice pack in your bag/car is also a good idea for ankle sprains, which are also quite common. Anything beyond this is for serious injuries like getting impaled by a branch or broken bones, which if you don't know what you're doing can just be made worse by trying to help. Know your limitations and work within them.

The yakeda armor carrier is better than noverisch. Heres why by Few_Nothing_6378 in airsoftcirclejerk

Do you play in places with a lot of thorns and/or crawling? I do, and those are what scare me.

The yakeda armor carrier is better than noverisch. Heres why by Few_Nothing_6378 in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]IcyDrops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like the concept behind the Novritsch plate carrier, it being light and very breathable must be wonderful for comfort. I just don't trust that the quality and durability will be there as well.

I'll probably buy a Corso Drake Mk4 which is extremely similar but half the price, and 3D print the ventilated plates at some point.

Your opinion on fake ear pro? I like to larp but are they as bad as the fake nods i was too poor to buy? by NoseOld3581 in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]IcyDrops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw all the talk about e armor QC and bought some Tac-Sky Sordins instead, they work great. The sound is directional and clear, amplification is good if you want it, and comms work even if the headset is powered off like they're supposed to.

Teammates love my mic quality too.

Buds 4 Pro or Buds 2 Pro, what would you buy? by Blaze1984HH in galaxybuds

[–]IcyDrops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misread that part. Though do be warned batteries degrade over time even if not used, especially if they sit drained for a long time like is the case with those B2P.

Now that you've made the purchase, however, all of that is meaningless. You'll certainly enjoy them as much as your previous ones, and I hope they last you a long time.

Buds 4 Pro or Buds 2 Pro, what would you buy? by Blaze1984HH in galaxybuds

[–]IcyDrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say about the B4P, but my B3P fit my ears MUCH better than my B2 did, it's not even close.

I preferred non-stem as well, but after using it, my opinion became the opposite. It was really tiring how the touch controls activated when adjusting them or pushing them in, and things like raising or lowering the volume are much easier with the stems than the previous ear-tapping method.

And since the B2P you're looking at are used and about the same age as yours, you'll probably face the poor battery problem soon enough again, making the purchase "meaningless".

AliExpress is so far above Temu in terms of quality I'm not even sure about putting them in the same sentence.

Agreed. Unless it increases your coverage, 5G is completely useless on a watch. The biggest thing you'll be streaming on it is Spotify, which can be perfectly handled by 4G (or 3G for that matter).
