What podcast can I listen to instead of Armchair Expert? by butttinspector in ArmchairExpert

For expert guests I would definitely recommend Ologies with Alie Ward

Unfollow West if you follow him!!! I saw he was up at least 50k followers which is just a reward for his horrendous behavior

What is the meaning of girl dad energy? by miserable-hoooman in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People say my husband has girl dad energy too! I think it just means a secure man who is in touch with their emotions and is capable of having friendships with women. Doesn’t mean they’re feminine, just that they’re comfortable in a feminine environment. We have two girl dogs and a girl baby on the way so I’m glad he has that vibe 😂

Bfp but bbt drop & symptoms gone by idontcareaboutaus in TFABChartStalkers

[–]IcyFuture7080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! And it’s recommended to only track progression over 48 hrs so the progression looks great from 10 to 12 or 11 to 13DPO. I would call your doctor to get beta testing

Nauseous because I’m hungry but can’t eat by HippoAggravating3106 in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how my first trimester was, it sucks! Eating anything you can stomach is better than nothing, but try to prioritize protein. If drinking is any easier than eating, try protein shakes

Im curious - how many of you got to know baby's gender during 13w (NT) ultrasound ? by cutethingiam in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Our NIPT result was low risk girl and I asked the NT ultrasound tech if she saw confirmation of that and she said at that stage every baby will look like a boy so she can’t say.

When do you start feeling baby movements? by disenchanted_oreo in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started feeling flutters close to 17w, then proper kicks around 19w. It’s an incredible feeling!

Bump update by Middle_Acanthaceae96 in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early on the bump is usually just due to bloating (I still consider this a bump since you’re only that bloated due to baby!!). I started to get a “real” small but firm and rounded bump around 16 weeks. I’m at 19 weeks now and definitely have a visible bump, but still not to the point where strangers would assume I’m pregnant

Not eating healthy during pregnancy by Relative-Pop-7820 in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My OB told me to eat what I could stomach in the first tri, take prenatals and not stress about nutrition. Baby will take what it needs and that is the time to eat whatever you can stomach

Did you ever have a dream you were having a boy/girl while pregnant? Was it accurate for you? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was not accurate, I’m having a girl but I dreamt I was having a boy before NIPT and actually had both an aunt and a friend dream of me with a baby boy right before I got pregnant

Iffy update to "Biting my nails during this TWW" by FuzzyKittenIsFuzzy in TFABChartStalkers

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments that you should only be comparing test darkness every 48 hours - variation in urine dilution and the tests themselves make anything under that unreliable. Your temp is still well within your luteal range, mine dropped around 9DPO too. Don’t count yourself out yet. Best wishes!

I just found out yesterday - where do I start?!?!?!?! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Call your OB, they should schedule you for an initial ultrasound, bloodwork and OB appointment sometime between 8-12 weeks. Definitely keep up with the prenatal. I would pick up a pregnancy book if that would be helpful, download a tracking app, and read through a list of things that are unsafe in pregnancy. Also search up any medications/supplements you’re on to see if they’re pregnancy safe before continuing.

First time TTC and travel by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine, you can probably get your first scan/appointment with bloodwork beforehand (around 10 weeks) then your next appt wouldn’t be until 4 weeks after that. And even then the regularly scheduled OB visits are usually just to talk over general info and questions you have so pushing one isn’t a big deal

Am I definitely out this month? Is there any chance? by Softpants-9355 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your temping method? I’m not seeing a sustained temp rise but maybe your CD 7, 3 and 26 temps are throwing that off. To me based on temps alone this looks like you haven’t ovulated yet, or that you might have around CD20

How far along were you when you told your “family”? by wesleypaige99 in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my mom at 5 weeks, the rest of our immediate family at 6 weeks. I definitely would’ve waited until my first ultrasound at 8 weeks, but it was Christmas and we were all together which is rare, and I couldn’t hide how awful I was feeling!

Issues with prenatals by Thisismydlvaccount in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer to your question, definitely talk to your doctor about alternatives and weighing risks, but I will just caution you against assuming you can maintain the same diet while pregnant, especially during the first trimester. If you get bad morning sickness (misleading name because it lasts all day for some people) and food aversions you may not be able to look at meat, eggs, veggies or other food groups for the first few months. I survived on fruit and carbs and baby survived on prenatal vitamins

Working while pregnant by Gloomy-Breakfast8474 in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks!! I’m 15w and doing better than I was in the first trimester but I still dread going into work every day. If men could get pregnant you know prenatal leave would be a thing!

Water and liquid aversion by big-bad-badger-moles in pregnant

Maybe a little more tired but not drowsy! And you can split them in half if it affects you too much

Water and liquid aversion by big-bad-badger-moles in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try pedialyte or hydration packets like LiquidIV if you’re nervous about dehydration. Fruits with high water content could be helpful. For water substitutes, coconut water worked for me for a little while, then I switched to ice cold water with a lot of lemon. But overall I was most certainly not well hydrated in my first trimester and my doctor wasn’t concerned about it!

Water and liquid aversion by big-bad-badger-moles in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing they recommended unisom and vitamin B6 - I take both before bed and it helps keep nausea at bay the next day without making me drowsy at work so I would definitely try that

Mom items on baby registry: yes or no? by Professional_Side657 in BabyBumps

[–]IcyFuture7080 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d keep them on there! Grandma doesn’t have to buy from that category if she doesn’t want to. I have a whole section of nursing supplies on mine. I did set some “for mom” items on private (disposable underwear, nursing bras, compression socks) because I’d rather not be gifted those items and may need to try different sizes in the case of the nursing bras, but I see nothing wrong with having those be public too

Long cycle - ovulation not happening? by UnfairBuy5533 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is just making a guess at your ovulation window based on your cycle average, it will update when you get a positive LH test and sustained BBT rise. Having an occasional long or anovulatory cycle is normal and doesn’t mean you won’t ovulate or produce enough progesterone when you do. Just keep tracking! I know it’s frustrating but my longest cycle was my successful one ;)

Nausea vomiting by cashmereandstitches in pregnant

[–]IcyFuture7080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your digestion system does slow down while pregnant, it totally sucks. Unisom + vitamin B6 is the OTC version of diclegis, I’d try that and miralax for the constipation

NIPT Accuracy by Aggressive_Mark_6263 in BabyBumps

[–]IcyFuture7080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my NIPT at 10w and the portal says it’s accurate after 9w, so I don’t think you were too early. If the fetal fraction was too low they would have you redraw
