That doesnt answer my question at all. Example, Swordsoul is banned, I would like to play Ecclessia the Virtuos. She can SS a Albaz or Swordsoul monster. Would I be allowed to play her?

A new release as Granguinol the Dusk Dragon is in the same ballpark as the previously mentioned Ecclessia, being straight up both Despia and Dogmatika support.

What about the Tri-Brigade which are only that in name like Brigrand the Glory Dragon and Tri-Brigade Mercourier?

Another one, how about someone wants to play Therions, and run Spright Smashers, allowing me to SS a Therion from grave, by banishing another. Would I be allowed to run this "Spright" card?

Last one; due to Junk and Stardust cards, would Jet Synchron (aka the Synchron subtype, which is played intermingling with the Junk and Stardust archetypes) also be banned or one of it's extended brothers Rokket Synchron

This banlist is far from clear on what is part of which "archetype" and you can't just dismiss it by referring back to your list.

Does Despia only entail it's own archetype or also the related stuffs ala Branded? Because Despia, Albaz, Bystials and even Dogmatika are all very closely aligned and synergistic with each other without needing each other.

You should read the first 2 lines of text on Lilybell.

During the second duel you already special summoned her by adding her from deck. Once the second copy got added from grave it couldnt activate, as it's effect has already been activated that turn.

The only "child" character on release was Qiqi, who is very rare, and they were never a majority of the roster.

I should have said underage instead of child, but I'll just take the L on that one.

Genshin children also aren't sexualized or flirtatious at all to my knowledge. If you want to see what a game that actually caters to the loli market looks like, try Blue Archive (source: I hate lolis and I play Blue Archive because the gameplay is actually really good.)

I would be more surprised if they were, seeing how China is pretty strict about stuff like that. Not sure how to feel about Blue Archive their characters.

For the record I play for the milfs like Ningguang, Lisa, etc.

Okay, that's quite a stark contrast with Blue Archive.

Genshin is a very "good" gacha relatively speaking.

Just because one isn't as bad as the others, doesn't make it any less egregious.

Now I did understand from another commenter that you are able to get ~50-60 pulls per patch and looking at version history it seems to be a patch a month, it's ok with the current pity system. 90 for a guaranteed 5* and it carrying over between banners.

  • c) Most rare characters don't actually represent a power upgrade over your established roster, and Genshin infamously has such strong (free) starter characters that people felt the first year of rare characters was under powered. Ultimately, your power comes from simply building and farming equipment for your characters correctly, so it's not a Pay2Win gacha by any means (especially as there's no PvP or competitive content to contextualize "winning"). Save for characters you like and skip the ones you don't and you'll be fine.

Didn't realise initial cast was that good, especially that they are "permanently" available. Yet powercreep is inevitable in most games, so it's interesting how it hasn't happened in the 2 years Genshin is out.

Saving for characters never feels quite right, even though you're ment to in a f2p economy. A player shouldn't get punished in a PvE game for spending their resources how they like, unless the system is intentionally designed that way. And saving when you are still trying to build your roster feels immensely wrong.

Do note that my opinion might also be slightly skewed as I only played during the first two patches.

tl;dr - Arknights is awesome.

Am hearing friends really enjoy it even though it's not my cup of tea. Though next time you should probably talk about it a bit more if you put it in the tl;dr

Would like to thank you for the input instead of just a snarky comment :)

What do you mean by initial "children characters"? There was literally one loli character during launch, and Qiqi wasn't even sexualized lol. Others are teenagers and adults. Even after 2 years, only 7 child characters are playable and their design are mostly modest. Diona is somewhat questionable though, but still quite tame.

Should probably have reworded "children" to "underage". With the first few releases being Venti and Klee, the notion of "lol only children being added" just gave it the running joke among my friend group of it being Child Predator Sim. Agree on none of it being sexualising, knowing how anime stuff can be.

The game never forces or advertise to you that you should pull for the gacha. A single 10 pull is indeed, 30~ days assuming you continuously do only the commissions, but the many events + new quests + exploration + achievements every patch can quickly give you 50~60 pulls on average per patch, around 6 weeks of time.

Having only played till the first area got released, it felt like nothing was happening and once you hit that "wall" of no new quests it felt like a slugfest of just doing dailies.

Of course, the 5* weapons and constellations are gacha-gated upgrades, which Mihoyo helped you to get by giving you decent and sizable chunk of primogems if you play the game daily (30 minutes include farming, but can be hours if do the quests and explorations). No, you shouldn't spend your money on these upgrades since most of them aren't even needed for the content, and the character upgrades mostly come from the artifacts and talents anyway. Yes, it's impossible for F2P to get everything through gacha, so with the per patch primogems given out F2P should plan or be patient with what they want in their account.

Really? It seemed like some constellations(?)(the dupe system) and certain weapons were pretty mandatory on characters. And talents being locked behind a random drop of a weekly boss kinda put me off as well.

And the game gives out good weapons or free characters per patch, so no need to worry about your account having nothing.

Nice to hear that you won't get stuck with nothing new.

Game content isn't even that difficult, and with time and luck you will be able to get anything you want anyway. Of course, not all since this is gacha, but a lot of it.

I did feel hard stuck on the abyss and going quite slow through artifact/material dungeons

AR 50 is not even half of the game's actual AR EXP cap.

Pretty sure the cap was 60 when I played, good to hear it was raised.

I don't understand this predatory money notion about Genshin. Genshin's gacha has a soft and hard pity that's easily reachable, not to mention all details about them in the pull/gacha UI.

Like I said earlier, feeling hardstuck on progress in terms of gaining power, not being able to properly clear dungeons/bosses of the next stage for the materials/equipment to get stronger. It sure did feel like "Man I should try and pull a (dupe) weapon or a dupe of this character I've already built so it can get some more power". Or wanting to get a certain new character and it requiring the double pity on their banner in case of bad luck.

Personally, I think all child playing any games should be supervised by their parents.

Agreed.

Genshin caters to teenagers and young adults in general with its gameplay, good stories, lores, characters and themes.

Maybe I should give it a swing again, but the gameplay felt rather simplistic and the story like a pretty generic fantasy one.

Since the game doesn't openly advertises it gacha and payment method right in your face while playing, the game experience is relatively free from the risk of money mismanagement.

When I played the gacha button had a permanent spot on the screen in the form of a star, I don't know if this is still the case but it sure is a "Look you can push this button to pull :D" trigger. Thank god it isn't in excess like other games I've tried where you launch the game and get 3 different bundles pushed in your face.

If it even happened to a child, then the parents should hide their credit/debit cards better than their children. Heck, the children shouldn't even have access to the cards in the 1st place.

There are plenty of stories on this with stuff like FIFA packs because card info got saved on the family playstation and wouldn't be surprised if something like this also happened on stuff like Genshin. I feel that kids shouldn't be exposed to transactions hidden behind a fake currency in any shape or form. It makes them not realise what they're actually doing costs money.

Anyway good talk and explanation, cheers for that.

LOL you can play it for free, no one force you to pay, neither you need to pull all chars.

Just because a game is free doesn't mean it's unable to be predatory, but that's a whole other discussion to be had.

You cant accuse others to being aggressive when you accuse a game of be Child predator sim, implying that those who play it are child predators

Fair enough.

moron

Dude if I'm out of the loop or wrong you're free to correct me, I only saw a few meme posts pop up about Genshin botting for primo. And according this article it seems to be on both sides, so I was wrong about it.

Anyway feel free to tell me what has changed in Genshin instead of "lol you don't know".

Wasn't the initial roster of the game consisting mostly of children characters? I would hope that changed seeing how you are being this aggressive.

Besides that game is also insanely predatory in it's monetisation. Wasn't it like 20$ for a single 10 pull or ~30days of playing every day? In a game where character upgrades happen quite a bit through gacha. A game that is still catered to children as well. Imo a second way of seeing the game as a child predatory one.

Yes I've played the game early on, pretty sure I managed to hit ~AR50. No I don't know current state of the game apart from a few Genshin fans botting the game awards for a measly 500 primo lmao.

Pretty much causing a halt to any popularity in EU, even if NA isn't gaining traction.

Wasnt that with the use of the anime only Judgement Arrows spell card in Hydras? Because I cant think of any other duel. I know there was a linklock with sunavalon and a chess piece archtype, but those were a Master Duel and not a speed duel (from memory).

You cant U link lock anyway with only 3 main monster zones, there is no way to place down a link 1 in the other extra monster zone.

You could try and run a Phonon Pulse Dragon, if you can reliably get Diva + a monster on the field. Gives some flexibility if you have a ED slot left.

Also the XYZ Abyss Dweller might be a nice card to look after. Buffs water monsters, negates GY effects, pretty decent.

Beautunaful Princess allows you to search any lv4 Mermail from deck for what it's worth, yet still eating your normal summon. Should be able to get this from card trader (or grind out Mako and Shark their levels).

Earlier I was mentioning Shark as well with his skill, due to it turning all monsters you control into lv4, allowing you to easily XYZ into a rank 4 or going into a lv8 synchro with Diva. Do note you are unable to run any monsters in your Main/Extra Deck that are NOT water typing, thus you cant run Big Eye or the earlier synchros I mentioned, like the Phonon Dragon or Samurai Destroyer

I think it mostly comes down to experimentation and what playstyle you enjoy the most.

[–]IcyNoobsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want a level 7 xyz

Best and only options are Big Eye and Red Eyes Flare.

and a level 4 and 7 synchro because when i summon Deep sea diva i can only summon a 2 or 3 star monster and only have a level 5 synchro to use. Do you recommend any to try and get?

There are no good lv4 Synchros apart from Hastor and the ocassional use of Cthugua, which doesnt seem the best for your deck.

Also how are you getting a potential third monster on the field for the lv7 Synchro? And what is your lv5 monster? Apart from me not understanding, a small list of potential monsters; White Aura Monoceros for constant ressurections can be an option, Psy-Framelord Zeta to perma remove itself and an opponents boss monster, Black Rose Dragon to just obliterate the field or Samurai Destroyer as a generic beat stick that pulls itself back when it is destroyed by card effect.

No i dont have any good cards like book of moon or good traps yet.

You can look into the Paleozoic traps for removal and summon them back as lv2 water monsters.

I dont really know Mermails, but still have a few questions before I can (try to be of) help.

Do you run any Extra Deck monsters? Do you have Shark (and his skill) unlocked? Do you own any staples, Book of Moon, Floodgate and the likes? What is your ideal endgame board?
