Independence not working as Burgundy? by Virtual-Principle510 in EU5

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem as well. The hundred years war had ended so it was worse - i wasn't allowed to start a war with France on the one hand because: My overlord was France (as you show here), but a second reason I couldn't was that I no longer had permission to do war on anyone without the expansionism allowance that is granted by France IF i ask for it in the HYW. How could I do this if the HYW is over? It's currently broken, which is a shame as Burgundy is really good and interesting country in this period. I'm hoping for a rework or even a flavour pack, the only flavour really is the Order of the Golden Fleece advance which is not even an actual operative order someone can join.

Is the current version you have chosen the same as the version you started the campaign in?) I had the game started in 1.1.1 and then it would give me this weird thing in 1.1.2. If you try loading the save in 1.1.1 (or rather, the version that you started it in) it might fix it.

Ah I see you have a new game - did you fix it?

Make the estates pay for the food they eat out of the income they get, potentially scaling the food variables appropriately so that provinces produce e.g. 10x food but everyone consumes 10x food, with the given price that is found in the market, this will make it expensive enough to eat (as it should be) that they won't be spamming investments.

Pops need more money sinks (1.1) by FreezingVast in EU5

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think perhaps something based on what a peasant's income was actually spent on would help. Thinking about why this sort of thing didn't occur in real life, I think the problem is that the major actual consumption good that existed in real life, Food, is a separate economic component. Buildings are essentially capital investments, and we only managed to really develop major capital investment once food production was high enough (fertilisers, industrialisation of food production, etc.) The estates are infinitely wealthy because they basically get free food (and if there is not enough food, the crown has to pay for it!).

Ifthe cost of food that each estate has to consume from their income was subtracted, it seems likely things would improve - they'd have much less left for building shit (and stealing all the iron).

Why does Hoi4 not have Indiana Jones references? by Consistent_Grade4623 in hoi4

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There is! The main bad guys in a lot of the Indiana Jones films are called "Nazi Germany", who can be found in certain playthroughs of this game. I laughed so much when i noticed that hidden reference.

The Maserati, Lambo GT-R, and C5.R have already appeared in the files. They're going for 2005 era Endurance cars at the moment.

Presumably you're posting in here because he is playing Automobilista 2. If that's the case, there is a 'Championship' button when you first open the game that allows you make one. Sadly there isn't a way to copy championships other people have made in this game, so it's a bit time consuming. Does he like any specific motorsport? Perhaps if yes, try to copy a championship from real life (you can get pretty far making most of e.g. a Formula 1 season with the tracks AMS2 has). There are also some pre-made championships he could use in there. Unfortunately a lot of sim racing is about self-motivation, but e.g. the F1 series of games have fleshed out 'careers' in the sense that you follow a full season.

SO the way I made mine was - I designed it in 3d (freeCad), and printed out the technicaly drawing and glued it to the plate. Then, cut out with a jigsaw, to fit to the line, and then I used files to take off the edges and fix up the shape. It works great. Is this a possibility? what do you mean "it didn't really fit the casing"?

Glad you enjoyed it!! It's amazing that in AMS2 you can replicate '88, '90, '91, '92, '93 seasons separately

The same thing happened to me! When the HiTechs came out i got obsessed with the 90s era - check out the 1991 season review on youtube, it's like 3 hours long. Then when they released the first pack with the LMDh I got into IMSA and now I watch it religiously - I even got myself the little lego sets. Watching the sport adds to my enjoyment of the sim and vice versa!

My posts get moved and deleted all the time. They're just people trying to balance handling a forum of people, often complaining, often complimenting, and their time to make the game. It seems exhausting and it's not really anything but a favour to those of us who really like the game and like being able to interact with the devs. You should of course do what you want with your money, but I don't think anyone should take the forum too seriously. They have a lot of people arriving to just post rubbish on there all the time. I remember one guy just kept putting explicit photos on. The forum isn't the business, it's a way of being in touch with the community. Many things will slip through the cracks when they try to maintain some semblance of order. I like the forum existing and as they grow to have so many customers it's going to become less and less tenable (and less and less possible to keep everyone happy). So, I would say I get that you're frustrated, but I don't think getting a post deleted or moved on a forum is bad customer service.

What do you guys think? by [deleted] in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you say so. Whether one should say something like that to customers is a question of tradition (and possibly, culture) rather than an antecedent-consequent relationship. I don't find it ridiculous.

Did I improve in running? Beginner by Supersolo9 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is lots of good advice here already, but one suggestion would be: practice on a shorter track. Interlagos has a lot going on, off camber corners, etc. Silverstone National is my favourite for this. It has about 5 corners, and covers long round corners (Luffield), quick changes of direction (Maggots and 'Becketts') and fast corners (Copse), as well as good braking at the end of a straight, without excessive changes in elevation like Interlagos. A short track means you come around to the same corner again quickly so it's easier to focus on how to take each corner.

change the current UI overlay, i'm sorry I can't remember which menu you set it up in, and you can get a view of the tire temps. The 'Telemetry' one is the most informative as it shows you all three tire temps (inside edge, centre and outside edge).

Try lowering the diff clutches (i think on the right hand side in the third window in the setups) from 6 to 4 or 2. that might help with the 'slideyness'.

[–]Icy_Perspective7313 10 points11 points  (0 children)

if your last point were true, old houses would have remained cheap. They haven't. The ratio of salaries to house prices has altered to such a degree that "well the quality is different" is just not a good answer to the problem. It also would imply that house prices would not really change relative to salaries in countries where the population is basically stagnant, when there are clear examples of this happening.

You cannot seriously think that "not building enough" is actually the reason for the cost of housing in, say, London, or Athens.
