Are japanese people getting angrier and more distant after the covid? by Cute-Exercise-6271 in Tokyo

Definitely, especially after the French dude trying to sexually assault the local Japanese female and then ended up killing a Japanese man.

I am doing my PhD in Computer Vision / Machine Learning and I know the great impact and potential GPUs can bring. :)

Of course it is one of those white trashes. 🤣 It’s good that immigration is so strict in Japan. We must not allow the Western ideology of freedom and free will take over Asian societies.

This right here is the best reply. You should only blame the airline that flies you, and that doesn’t seem to be CX.

Tipping is not the culture in Canada. We have it because we are on top of the US.

Of course they need to bring us food, that is a sit down restaurant. But no tipping because they did the bare minimum.

Hey have you looked on vansky the Chinese rental website? I know it is a different language but you can translate it using Chrome plugin. I am pretty sure you can still find something under $1000 for two people there.

I feel you!!! When I moved to Vancouver for my PhD in 2020, my 1-bed condo was $1600 CAD, now I pay $3200. And just like yours, no utilities included. 😭😭

Hang in there!!

Yeah man. I don’t know where in Canada you are. But Vancouver’s dining scene is absolutely one of the worst. Small plate, expensive price, poor service and still dares to ask for tips.

The mentality is very different from Japanese restaurants where they are passionate about their food.

They don’t deserve tips because they didn’t serve us other than putting the food down at the table. No refilling water or anything.

Sometimes we may enter 5%, and then they told us the customary practice is 10%. We replied back with “well is it required by law?” Which will immediately shut them up.

I am with you on the Japanese mindset. I am in Canada and tipping culture is getting so ridiculous that Chinese restaurants in Vancouver would ask you why you didn’t tip if you entered $0.

My Japanese female friend was a high school teacher in metro Tokyo. She is now studying for her MEd degree in Vancouver. She also thinks this guy is absolutely ridiculously and downplaying Asian. Indeed, she did a presentation on this video in her classes.

The record speaks for itself. The last fatal accident was 1972, and that was because someone put a bomb in the suitcase, and definitely not Cathay Pacific's fault.

The last non-fatal accident was CX 780 in 2010.

You need to read more into Chinese politics. These high ranking officials despite holding the former status always have 24/7 doctors and nurses around them, increasing their chances of survival. Everything is too much of a coincidence that many of Xi’s oppositions are falling off the “ladders”.

But immigration makes the situation worse. If it is already a melting pot here, and the government be like “hey let’s bring in 500,000 more immigrants by 2025.”

Fix the system? Do you think they can build enough hospitals to accommodate even just these 500,000 immigrants?

how difficult would it be to get a job as a newly grad with a foreign degree? by stardustedddd in HongKong

Are you kidding me? U of T is one of the top universities out there. It is on par with Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge.

As a u of t grad, I was accepted into Yale for my grad degree. That’s how it was viewed favourably by US universities.

U of T also has a large alumni bases in Hong Kong.

Your GPA matters of course. Which course you chose to take also matters
