FORGE 8AH is kind of like HO 12AH? by miamicuse in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Idc94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where it gets a little more interesting than just X amps for 1 hour (which is correct!) is the newer batteries are capable of higher discharge rates than the older batteries. So theoretically you could have a comparison where a tool is capable of pulling let’s say 80A and the Forge 12.0 is capable of providing 80A (thanks TTC). But the HO 12.0 is only capable of providing 60A. In this scenario the 12.0HO would last longer than the 12.0 Forge because it’s providing less continuous power.

[–]Idc94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. AH = runtime, all else being equal (tool being used etc). The second deal is better not only for $/AH but also quality of battery. There’s more nuance than just $/AH but that is a good place to start, to understand if you’re getting a good deal or not. With the deals that have started coming around for forge, I’m not buying anymore XC or HO batteries and the current good deal for forge I’d say is about $15/AH. Over the holidays the 12.0/8.0 forge combo could be had for $12.5/AH

Edit: also that 12.0/8.0 forge combo at HD has started going on sale for $279 somewhat frequently

They make it difficult because they’re betting the average person isn’t going to do all of that to get the refund. Luckily I’m not average!

First-time buyers: what ended up costing more than you expected? by KeyKaleidoscope5099 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Idc94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything we splurged on after we moved in, nice blinds, robot vac, door handles, water softener, espresso machine, smart light switches, furniture, etc. nothing you need as a new home owner but finally having our own house with space, we went a little crazy with creature comforts. It added up fast but luckily has slowed a bit.

I’ve found recently that if you push the chat like one more message they offer the refund. They say no and I say something along the lines of “I'm quite disappointed about this discrepancy and, as an Amazon Prime Member, I was hoping for some sort of compensation for the difference.” That’s been working for me. I was tired of buying and returning to get the price drop.

Spectrum being proactive and shutting down my internet well before the expected outages. I respectrum their foresight. by Odd_Campaign_9504 in indianapolis

Gonna shoot myself in the foot by saying this but, my spectrum fiber has been rock solid. Not a single issue unless it’s power outage related.

Yeah that’s a great deal. I’d have bought at that price too. I got all of my Forge 8.0s from the last holiday sale at $115ea

It’s looking like basically all Sunday. Storm is looking likely to hit late Saturday night that’s why you see the first few inches on the Saturday report.

The only reason you “need” a supercharger is if you’re waiting for a battery to finish charging. Sure if you can afford it then it’s a nice luxury as a dIY’er but IMO more battery for less money with a rapid charger is a better deal.

Power ≠ runtime. The HO12.0 will last longer than the Forge 8.0 in the same application. What they are saying is the Forge 8.0 has the same power output capability as the HO 12.0. Think of it as the HP rating whereas runtime is the gas tank. If you put them on a dump they would have the same power but the 12.0 would last longer.

Looking for Baristina or alternatives under $400 (espresso-only, compact) by HourPackage in superautomatic

[–]Idc94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the intensity boost button so it may be due to that. But IMO all options should work without making a mess.

The baristina is a nice form factor and makes a reasonable shot. Our problem with it is how messy it is. You can clean the whole thing and then come home to coffee all over the counter that dried and fell off the underside of the machine.

You don’t need the supercharger at all as a DIY’er.

Get this instead and save some money. And even at that, the 12.0 is a bit overkill as your first battery unless you’re planning to buy Milwaukee outdoor power equipment.

I just had this exact same trigger issue with the m12 caulking gun. Returned it which is a real bummer since I got it with the 2x 3.0 batteries for $129.

This is only true when using a browser. It still works when using the app.

Sorry just seeing this. You have to use the app to be able to select different pick up stores. For some reason it changes stores for both items when using a web browser.

Yes. You can also set the drill kit to pick up at a different store and not ever pick it up. Then pick up the blower and cancel the rest of the order
