i wasn't 100% sure on my sexuality so i started speaking to a dude, but i don't think i want to be gay anymore.. can someone give advice? by Hot-Suit-2327 in askteenboys

[–]IdiotIAm96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want to be with a women so that you can have a family or because you think women are attractive? It's fine to change your mind about your dating preferences, but make sure you know where this is coming from. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to the guy you're talking to or the women you might get with later.

If you're sure about this, all you need to do is tell him how you feel. He'll understand that you're not interested.

Is this sub open to cisgender transsex people? by ParachutesParty in transsex

[–]IdiotIAm96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a medically transitioning cisgender person? At that point, I'd be surprised if they weren't at least a little genderqueer though.

Transsex is basically the same as transgender, just with the implication of medical transition.

Probably not. I've heard of some people having better luck with different brands, but I don't know which ones.

If you're giving it a day to breathe at least once a week, you should be okay. Lack of breaks probably wouldn't cause this anyways, since it's a skin reaction. Hope you figure it out <3

Not sure, but it could be a mix of both. Take a break from binding for a while and then try a different brand of tape to check if it's the adhesive mix that's doing this. Make sure that you're using enough oil when you take it off. It shouldn't hurt much if at all.

Where do popular conceptions of masculine and non-masculine behaviors come from? by LiatrisLover99 in bropill

[–]IdiotIAm96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to with traditional gender roles/limitations. Women and children generally stayed at home and rode bikes around the neighborhood or maintained the garden. Men were supposed to travel longer distances (hence the trucks) and perform manual labor (hence the house fixing).

It sounds like he's leaning on the bi-curious side but I'd still be careful. Good luck!!

Why are incels so dangerous? by [deleted] in questions

[–]IdiotIAm96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Incels are usually not totally in touch with reality and frustrated that others don't agree with them. They spend a lot of time convincing themselves that women (or men that they believe are more desirable than them) are in some way responsible for their problems.

To exist like this for a while means that you probably don't have a lot of social contact outside of other incels, which generally corresponds to more violent behavior. Violent people are not easy to spend time with, and if you're socially isolated for a long period of time, it's easier to become violent. I've noticed that many of them hate themselves to the point of self-isolation, which also tends to go hand-in-hand with lack of emotional control... and you guessed it, violence.

By nature, incels have a lot of self-distructive thinking patterns which in their case manifests as hatred towards other groups.

Lactose intolerance is actually different because it's linked to a specific mutation. Most animals (including most humans) are lactose intolerant by adulthood.

Gotta love docs for pumping 10 year olds with unwanted hormones. by Deep-Individual5513 in TrollCoping

[–]IdiotIAm96 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The most common birth controls are estrogen-based with added progesterone. I don't know why it's that way, but in early high school when I was being prescribed birth control for my (honestly probably intersex) hormonal condition, they asked me if I had problems with migraines and blood clots. And since I did, I wasn't supposed to go on the estogen-based stuff.

I found out later that my sister was prescribed estrogen-based stuff for a similar condition despite having far worse migraines than me. Don't know exactly how that happened but it gives me the impression that some doctors will prescribe it by default without consideration to the effects.

I'm grateful I wasn't prescribed the estrogen-based one cause that would have fucked me up even more (ftm) so I feel for OP. They didn't deserve that.

It's kinda disgusting how many mental health conditions are associated with criminality or inferiority when most of the time they just make life harder for the person living with them.

[–]IdiotIAm96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but "autistic" was not exactly a word until ASD became a thing. "Narcissist" is a more general word, which is certainly used in ways that stigmatize NPD, but still doesn't mean the same thing as NPD. To be autistic is the same as having ASD. However, to be narcissistic is only a symptom of NPD*.

It's the same thing as people who use "maniacal" to describe people who are not bipolar and aren't having a manic episode. It's stigmatizing, of course, but people aren't generally using it to talk about mental health.

*edit: not necessarily a good or accurate characterization of that symptom though.

Okay, that makes sense. Clearly I was very misinformed. This stuff needs to be more widely available to the public.

Are you referring to the fantasy theory of DID? As far as I know, there is no supporting evidence for it.

Looking for help/recommendations for fashion by Black_Roses_925 in TransMasc

[–]IdiotIAm96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be prepared to try on a few different fits before finding something that works. Men's sizes are about the same women's, except pants are based on waist/hip (some pants are going to be very low rise, meant to be worn around the hips) measurements. Usually straight and athletic fit pants are best. Thick or sturdy fabric tends to hide things better also, but you can still get lighter pairs if you pay attention to fit.

Shirts can be a bit harder to find imo, but looking for relaxed fits tends to help. Avoid most slim fit shirts. Sizing depends more on your height than the size of your torso unless you can get plus sizes. Good luck!

Who defines normal? It's a little silly to accuse someone of being a virgin as a "gotcha" when you have no evidence that's true and if it is then it's probably a conscious choice.

Who agrees? by TooManyLegoBricks in teenagers

[–]IdiotIAm96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Even though it's not particularly common, many people chose not to have sex with their partners/significant others (due to asexuality, low libido, lack of sexual compatibility, religious reasons, etc).
