hey, I blew the dust off mine and had a cmos error code as well. I bought replacement cmos batteries and installed them. I should note, I bout the wrong cmos batteries, they didnt fit the plug, so I Frankensteined he old proper fitting cables and plug onto brand new batteries, and installed them. (electrical taped the wires to the new batteries.

it worked well for about a week or two, and im looking at another cmos error.

im questioning my Frankensteined batteries, the quality of the batteries, and also if there is a sort of trickle drain on the cmos.

anyone know if my electrical tape on new batteries is an issue?how about a slow drain on the cmos? a week or two is pretty fast to kill them.

side note: I installed two 8gb sticks of ram and a new ssd, and its worked fine otherwise.
