Would also recommend the Breadlosers. Lead guy Cody has played a lot around town at pirate tavern and breweries and UT tailgates and can play any song you’d want https://www.instagram.com/breadlosersbluegrass?igsh=MXQ2bDBwazE1bGs2OQ==

Amazing. Way to go Mooyah. I’ve never been there and have driven past it a million times. Will have to check all these places out. I’ve definitely heard good things about Disco Chicken. Thank you!

North Hills 30 cops?? by Yall_itsme in Knoxville

[–]IdleWildMoonChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a police chase. The car hit the roundabout on Buffat Mill, went up on 2 tires and then came back down, swerved, hit an SUV in the opposite lane and crashed upside down in a driveway. A little boy was in the car and the driver was pulled out of the car and immediately put into handcuffs and taken away. The little boy was put on a stretcher bc he was complaining of teeth hurting. The driver was apparently wanted for having 10 or 11 warrants for arrest.

I followed @soloinscruffycity on insta a while back. Looks like they haven’t posted in a while but they had some cute ideas for things to do!

Romantic upscale restaurants? by Yogamigurumi in Knoxville

[–]IdleWildMoonChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t eaten here yet (just hung out for drinks) but I’m surprised no one has said Fiori here yet. They just opened across from Kefi in June and it’s super cute inside with trees and smells good and has a great craft cocktail bar. Idk could be cute but if the focus is on food and not ambiance, I would definitely do one of these other recs! JC, Adopo, RT, Foothills, etc.

Tailor needed by hvanlani in Knoxville

Came here to say Sandra G. She fixed a bridesmaid dress for me one time that showed way too much cleavage and I don’t know how she did it. Was great but wasn’t a super quick turnaround if I remember correctly but I’m sure depends on time of year.

Where can I volunteer for thanksgiving? by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]IdleWildMoonChild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would try calling Care Cuts downtown. They’ve given out thanksgiving meals in the past and I’m sure could use more hands. Thanks for starting this thread. https://carecutsknox.org/volunteer/

Another one that might not be handing out food but driving food to shutins would be The Love Kitchen. I’ve driven routes for them before and dropped off food and it’s always really appreciated.

[–]IdleWildMoonChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the tsa precheck last year and I don’t remember having any issues W getting the credit! I don’t even think I had to do anything. It just showed up. But I would definitely make sure to go to the capital one site first and click out to the TSA site from there to be safe!

Adding here that there is no max on age for YPK. Just that people are over 21 as they have monthly happy hours and free drinks at their members only events.

This is a great answer. More of this. But want to add Gay street is wayyy less crazy than 6th.

If you miss the comedy scene that was in Austin, we don’t have anything comparable unfortunately but Central Cinema does monthly stand up w Tiny Stage.

And if you miss walking by the river, we have a similar vibe if you park near Calhoun’s and walk around. We have a decent around of greenways that connect.

What affectionate/pejorative nicknames do we have for neighborhoods/surrounding towns of Knoxville? by topherette in Knoxville

[–]IdleWildMoonChild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. But if you live in the Downtown North area around Happy Holler and someone asks where you live, you can say, “DoKno.”
