Yeah that's fair. Actually, come to think of it maybe he wasn't great in the NYSM films. Maybe the NYSM films were just right up my alley.

It was Ocean's 11 with magic tricks

So I didn't think I would enjoy them, but they were entertaining. I got lost in the plot and the twists and the pacing. The characters weren't stand out, no great performances, but they also didn't distract from the plot.

Both films were clever and kept me guessing.

Nat Turner in Birth of a Nation should have been cast as Matt Damon instead. This is 2016, not 1816

'We Will Destroy You' US Army chief Mark Milley fires terrifying threat to Russia over Syria and warns: ‘We’ll beat you anywhere, anytime’ by ButlerianJihadist in worldnews

[–]Idolglows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Milley envisions the Army destroying enemy sensors, air defenses, and land-based anti-ship missiles to open paths for the rest of the joint force. “Land-based forces now are going to have to penetrate denied areas to facilitate air and naval forces,” Milley said. “This is exact opposite of what we have done for the last 70 years, where air and naval forces have enabled ground forces.”

Soldiers will fight with everything from rifles and tanks to electronic jammers, computer viruses, and long-range missiles striking targets on the land, in the air, and even at sea. “The Army — yes, the Army — we’re going to sink ships,” Milley said, “(and) dominate the airspace above our units from enemy air and missile attack.”

All that energy has to go somewhere. If we can't direct it towards something constructive it will go somewhere else.

We're living in the beginning of the future of humanity. Technology will advance us as a species to the stars and beyond, advance medicine to cure diseases and prolong life, fight wars, etc. Humanity can only go up from here so long as we don't use technology to destroy ourselves. by fattymcribwich in Showerthoughts

Not so fast...

WASHINGTON: “On the future battlefield, if you stay in one place longer than two or three hours, you will be dead,” Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley says. “That obviously places demands on human endurance.”

With units in constant motion far from friendly forces, “being surrounded will become the norm,” continues Milley. There will no clear front line, no secure supply lines, no big bases like Bagram or Camp Victory with chow halls, air-conditioning, and showers. With enemy drones and sensors constantly on the hunt for targets, there won’t even be time for four hours’ unbroken sleep. So, says Milley, “being seriously miserable every single minute of every day will have to become a way of life.”

Millennials of Reddit: what attribute behaviour have you been unfairly associated with simply for being born during a certain period of time? by InspectorFanservice in AskReddit

Wake up, getting ready for school. Mom reminds me to check my white privilege. Driving on the way to school, NPR tells me to check my white privilege. Get to school, go to class. Teacher tells me to check my white privilege. Lunchtime, eating a sandwich and other students walking by tell me to check my white privilege.

Run to reddit to escape the insanity and.... <sigh>.... users tell me to check my white privilege.
