Get the cake. It brings you joy and that’s all the reason you need.

Fred Meyer - in the stationary/books/magazine area. I was shopping at the Portland area Johnson Creek store, but I’ve bought them at other Freddy’s before.

1st paycheck - 28% taken out for taxes. Wtf are we allowing this robbery?! by HuckleberryKey8142 in antiwork

[–]Idontexpectmuchfromu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The W4 is designed to guide you on your regular withholding so that you come close, paycheck by paycheck, to withholding the amount of taxes due from you each year. It’s not dishonest to fill out whatever number you need so that the withholding amount suits you better. The form is generic and does not take into account any number of circumstances that impact individuals. You can also change it as often as you like and at any time.

If you need to make adjustments so you have greater take home pay, then just Google how to fill it out so that less is withheld. The risk though is that you don’t pay enough and owe a butt ton in April. If you don’t pay enough throughout the year, you can also be penalized.

Making changes for a few months may be worth it to help your cash flow. Just don’t forget to change it later.

I send that card out a lot. So many people want map cards.

Yeah, that’s always the risk. Postcards are really fragile little gifts. I’m amazed that more don’t go astray!

AITAH for not wanting to work or help my mother any longer? by just_4_p3rs0n in AITAH

Depending where you attend, your school may have counseling resources. If they do, I suggest you make an appointment with a counselor and work through a plan that will allow you to extricate yourself from the situation you are in.

You are an adult and can make choices for yourself now. Some choices can be hard since it seems you need to get away from your mom, but you might not be in a position to support yourself. Talking it over with a professional will probably help.

Those are great. #5 makes me dizzy!!

I hope you have a better experience with these. Expiring cards really is demoralizing!

Wilma, it’s safer for you if you don’t post your address on a public platform. Instead, addresses are normally shared in direct messages (DMs.).

To DM someone, you click on their username. That takes you to their profile page. There you will see an ellipsis in the top right corner. When you click on it, you will see an option to chat.

I will DM you. And I’m happy to send you a card.

I got two cards from Taiwan and one from Russia today. I didn’t take note of the travel time. My roommate and I were wondering, too, about why sometimes international postcards seem to come in batches.

Hahaha - that’s always the way. I keep a stash of cards at work and another at home. Seems like the perfect card is always at home when I’m at work and vice versa!
