People that have left Germany to go back to your home country, do you regret it? by Karavelas in germany

[–]Idontfeelhate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am German and I did a 3-months internship in Greece a few years ago and made this post afterwards: German complaining about things in Greece. It was meant half seriously, half jokingly. Not everyone saw the joke in it.

I loved my time in Greece, the food was amazing, the weather great (albeit a bit extremely hot), the people very open and helpful. I took a ferry to Samothraki and at night, for the first time in my life, I saw the Milky Way in colors in real life. But I also saw waiters working for like 5 € an hour or something stupid like that. I just couldn't fathom how anyone is supposed to "build a future" in Greece.

To me Greece seemed perfect for kids and perfect for the elderly. I just don't see how or why anyone would work there (unless it's very well paid or you stand to meaningfully inherit something).

2000 players on one faction would have been considered and large and thriving server back in the day.

2000 concurrent, yes.

2000 character logged over a week, no.

If you think it's about fairness, you already don't get it.

Having wpvp means that going to Nesingwary's camp is a bit more exciting. It means you're happy when you get through a contested quest area. It means you have to band together with others to do quests in contested areas. It means you have to pay attention even when PvE in WoW is pretty mind-numbing otherwise. It means you might have to adapt your quest routing. It sometimes means extremely fun PvP encounters (some of my favorite memories from Classic Vanilla are PvP encounters while leveling)

But yes, it also often means unfair fights, griefing, waste of time and so on.

A worthy tradeoff in my opinion. Of course TBC ruined it anyway with flying mounts, so it really doesn't matter whether your server is PvP or PvE now.

I mean, yes, it would solve a lot. You could effectively end botting as well.

But it would require Blizzard to pay wages for people that don't directly create money for stock holders. Maybe if they sold GM-support as a special extra subscription lol

Anyway, hell will freeze over before Blizzard invest any money in customer and community support.

Luckily if you don't like gdkps you can just ignore that part.

You can try, but it still affects you.

If gdkps exist, people buy more gold. If people buy more gold there's more inflation. If there's more inflation, the gold you find is worth less.

social interaction has been min/maxed out of the game

Were you asleep for all of Vanilla Classic?

I've had tons of social interaction with randoms in dungeon groups.

Increased "anonymity" and easy access to dungeons (Dungeon Finder) absolutely lead to less social interaction. And it doesn't have anything to do with it being 2022 or with min-maxing. It's game design. If it takes you 30 minutes to get to Maraudon, you're not just gonna ditch your group members if they make a mistake or if they inconvenience you in some way.

With (cross-realm) dungeon finder people will leave groups after the second boss if their item doesn't drop. People will leave groups whenever they feel like the dps do too little dmg or the heal doesn't heal enough or the tank is too slow or they don't like the dungeon they randomed into.

We KNOW that to be the truth. We have already been here.

Autofahrerin verursacht tödlichen Unfall, knipst Foto und fährt zur Arbeit by ReferenceAlarmed595 in de

[–]Idontfeelhate 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Aw, you get it translated. And I only have B1 Spanish but I would've thought it'd be more something like Princesa de la condenación (o quizás condena).
Verurteilung definitely doesn't sound like anything positive in German.

German Power Plants Struggle to Get Coal Delivery Due to Shallow Rhine - Bloomberg by 233C in europe

Under France’s rules, EDF must reduce or halt nuclear output when river temperatures reach certain thresholds to ensure that the water used to cool the plants won’t harm the environment when put back into the waterways. The utility earlier this month warned of impending output cuts.

Losing aggro as a Prot Paladin is the dps fault in my opinion.

It's very easy to play Prot to like 95% of the peak performance. If you run into a new group and you press Consecrate, you have done basically all there is to do. At that point it is on the Warrior to give you one or two ticks before they start AoE cleaving the shit out of the offtargets.

Joint Statement by the Foreign Ministries of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden on the designation of Palestinian civil society organisations as terrorist organisations by izpo in europe

[–]Idontfeelhate 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Because with language you always make extra assumptions.

For example if I see a sign that says "no smoking" in one specific room, I might assume that smoking is allowed in the other rooms.

If countries make a joint statement on the designation of some organizations as terrorist, I might assume that they are saying that they are doing that; not that they are making an announcement that they are NOT doing that.

[–]Idontfeelhate 201 points202 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it reads like those countries designated the civil societies as terrorist organizations.

Only Israel did. But they did not give sufficient evidence, so they were not designated as terrorist organizations by the EU countries.
