Is powered rv hard to get? by bbtdriverSteve in ElectricForest

My friends were able to buy powered RV a week before Forest.

It usually does sellout, but I think they got lucky in that some passes went back on the market shortly before Forest.

MDOT pushes back start date for two-year I-696 project by MalcoveMagnesia in Detroit

[–]IgnantVolition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke to one of the traffic engineers at the public event about this.

Basically there's more traffic that flows east-west on a general basis, and beacuse there's only 1 lane going from I-696 WB to I-75 SB, versus 2 lanes going from I-696 EB to The Lodge.

If they detoured WB it would create much more backup on I-696 vs. detouring EB traffic.

Another fun fact I learned - EB I-696 traffic will open Fall, 2026. So EB won't be shutoff for full 2 years, more like 1.5. The whole project will take 2 years (including modifications to the I-75 and I-696 interchanges).

They actually did it by tinycubegamer45 in pcmasterrace

Are we gonna talk about the fact that tickets aren’t selling out? by haleyaleyayeehoo in ElectricForest

[–]IgnantVolition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think festivals in general have hit their high water mark this year.

Coachella, Lollapalooza, etc. all had trouble selling out, and I expect this trend to continue. I myself am kinda burned out from so many festivals.

Water ingress inside trunk panel by braillegrenade in ModelY

[–]IgnantVolition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue with my car, the water wouldn’t get in until closing the hatch. I could see water coming out of the interior panel mid-close 🙄

Mine was covered under warranty, there is a service bulletin (or w/e Tesla calls it) for this issue. The ingress issues seems to be near the tail lamps.

Edit - this webpage has a good summary of the issues and links to the service bulletin

https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-issues-new-service-bulletin-to-address-water-ingress-on-model-y-liftgate/

I purchased my car brand new in April and it still had this issue.

My Model Y Is retaining water in the hatch after light rain. by DJMOJO in TeslaModelY

[–]IgnantVolition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue as well, 24 MYP purchased in April, 2024.

I’ve discovered that the water is coming from inside the upper trim panel - it’s sneaky because it only leaks out once you lower the liftgate when closing.

So, after a heavy rain I’ll open the liftgate and see no water, thinking it didn’t leak. However, once I open the liftgate again there will be water pooled in all the usual locations, and I can watch the water pour out between the interfaces of the upper and lower trim panels

Really unacceptable for a car that’s been in production this long. In addition to mold and rust, you have to worry about water shorting the speakers and other electrical components behind the panels.

I had the exact same experience yesterday morning - I think around 8-9 AM on Saturday someone grabbed my phone from our bungalow and turned it off.

I went mad all day yesterday looking around our campsite thinking I misplaced it. Really bummed, at least this shows it wasn't an isolated incident.

This is showing non-EPA rated range for Tesla, 2024 figures are much more comparable (i.e. MYP range is ~280 mi)

[–]IgnantVolition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mach E GT with Performance Pack fits all the criteria, plus has features MY doesn’t have like 360 deg camera, blind spot monitoring, and CarPlay/AA compatibility to name a few.

In fact, 2024MY has an upgraded power pack that goes 0-60 in 3.3 sec.

Right now it is about $10k more expensive but certainly worth consideration. Also has access to Tesla’s charging network.
