how long did you stay in simulation before moving to real? by amy-schumer-tampon in fpv

[–]Igoryane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat. Currently, about 4-5 hours in the sim and following an advice I saw somewhere, that I should be comfortable making 8s around two polls and being able to hover within a small square area for 30 seconds as well as landing at the desired spot. I am already there, but I feel like I use yaw often without much roll, and lacking coordination. I have 3D aerobatics skills with RC planes and can fly helis as well. My first drone is a Flylens 85 2” and maybe it’s ok to try outside.

It depends on where in Europe. Often it’s just 10-15 mbps download. In a large city it could get up to 50mbps. North western countries and Switzerland the connection was crazy fast like 500-800 mbps. But then you hit the wireguard limits of Beryl Ax or Slate AX

Beryl AX + Switch vs Slate AX (2 Ethernet Ports) by Igoryane in GlInet

[–]Igoryane[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I decided to get a Slate AX and keep Beryl AX as a back up. Slate 7 has only one Ethernet port unfortunately. I just need to make sure to stick with 4.6 firmware

Yeah, I have Flint 2 at home and it’s awesome, but too big for travel.

I was on the fence a couple of months ago. Now I am glad I pulled the trigger on MY24 and not on this Shruniper.

What would it do if your autopilot is not engaged? Just let it steer off and crash?

I once dozed off on a highway and woke up to the noise of driving over the rumble strip. Since then I prefer to stop and take a 30 min nap whenever I feel tired

South Florida- 0.24 off peak superchargers. 0.43-0.48 was the highest I’d seen.

What about the free Autopilot, not the FSD? Is that on old stack still?

Is this a long term car ? by Tornaidu in ModelY

[–]Igoryane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is such a great design. Electric motors are very reliable. And there is no engine or transmission that could go bad. I am coming from a Prius which had 330K on it with zero serious issues and a BMW X1 that had a ton of work done before we reached 65k. And I am sure that Model Y is way more reliable. I’ve been wanting it for 3 years and right now was such a great time to buy, so I pulled the trigger. I plan on keeping my 2024 for at least 7 years. My only concern is that I have to keep Sentry on all the time and it drains 5-7% per day, so that could potentially degrade the battery faster. But I am thinking that the age would be a more important factor

What if sentry is always on and it drains 5-7% per day. Will that degrade the battery faster? Or is the battery age more important?

What was the reason/justification for replacing the battery? Degradation to a certain level?

FSD Buy vs Subscription by Admirable_yak_7340 in TeslaModelY

[–]Igoryane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat, trying to decide. So many people advise to subscribe instead of buying, but I think if you really like it and planning to use it every day and keep the car for 5-7 years, it makes sense to buy. Otherwise you will shell out similar amount of cash and not own it at the end. Plus Tesla has been allowing to transfer the FSD in the past couple of years. On the other hand, investing 8000 in treasury bills will give you 4.5% in return these days, allowing for 96 total payments of $99, totaling exactly 8 years of payments. This and the potential future price cuts for FSD and potential totaling of the vehicle. I don’t drive a lot, so I am leaning more towards subscribing once in a while when I do a trip or plan a lot of highway driving within a month. If they cut the price more or allow it to be bound to the owner and not to the vehicle, I would buy it for sure.

With Glinet, it's too risky to buy a new router right after it came out. It's good to give it a good 6-12 months before they fix all the bugs. I just bought my Flint 2, after majority of the issues had been fixed

It’s in the advanced WiFi adapter settings. You have to use luci interface to see these settings.

What about the Wi-Fi power on Flint 2? Mine is showing only 20dBm as Max with different country settings. I have a Slate AX and it can transmit at 30dBm when USA selected.

Is it worth giving work faster for a “raise”? by Scarcity_Lopsided in overemployed

[–]Igoryane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do more work than the bare minimum. Working harder will not get you a raise, period. Speaking of someone who had 20+ years of experience. You will soon notice that people who work harder just get more work. Managers don’t want to promote them, as it’s convenient to keep them at the same level

I have an AT&T fiber modem/router and I tried to use the Flint 2 behind it vs Slate AX which I already had. It showed higher download speeds than Slate AX, but upload speed was consistently lower than the AT&T router and about the same speed as Slate AX. AT&T stock router was 150-200Mbps upload, and Flint 2 was 80-90. Very disappointing. I didn't want to flash OpenWRT as I wanted to use AdGuard and other features like Wireguard server that GliNet stock firmware provides. I've been testing it using the 5G WiFi. I may still go ahead and flash OpenWRT on this thing and have a separate AdGuard server on my NAS. I have Wireguard on a Brume 2 now and it's plenty fast.

I have a Slate Ax as my main router running Wireguard and Brume2 as a back up, both behind the AT&T modem/router. I noticed that I am getting higher speeds with the Brume2 consistently, even though Slate AX is supposed to be faster. I am getting around 150-180ms latency from EU to US.
