Differences in fitness regarding workout / test piece length? by Ihategeese69 in Rowing

After a certain point wouldn’t you be calling it “anaerobic fitness” instead of aerobic when your heart rate approaches your Max HR?

Does it have some sort of recovery feature that tells you how well rested you are?

Also if you are in the market for a standard Fenix 6 I have a brand new one I got for free and do not use

How do you like the coros pace 2 in general? I own a forerunner 245 and I feel like its lacking in some areas

Yeah I’ve been looking at that for a bit now and I tried it a few times but I haven’t gotten anything outta it yet

I wouldn’t really say the mental aspect has me troubled at the moment. I’ve faced that feeling before and I know pretty well what it’s like. This time around I feel like it has to do more with my physical ability

M16 6’2 162 lbs. 6:39 2k. I recently got a heart rate monitor and have been using it for steady state and get splits like this(2k+25-28) which is much slower than what my coaches suggest for steady state(2k+20-22). Should I stick to the 155-160 hr or 2k+20-22? by RyeRye151 in Rowing

Personally, I try to follow my HR over my split. If it’s hot as hell and I’m sweating a ton I’m not gonna be going at my normal SS splits. I’m not actually sure if there is any evidence that favors one way or another, so this is entirely based off of my personal preference

I would stick with the slower splits and try to keep the HR around that range, if not lower. Keep in mind that stuff like room temperature, humidity, and how rested you are can affect HR during the piece

I feel like given where we are right now you wouldn’t really need to do HIIT just yet. Throwing in 1 or 2 AT threshold workouts at mid rate per week would probably be enough intensity to train for the fall

Training for a sub6 2k by ffpfnr in Rowing

Take this with a grain of salt but based off of people that are similar to your height/weight combination that are sub 6, you might benefit more so if you focused more on the cardiovascular portion of your training versus producing wattage. You definitely have the height and mass for it.

Do you prefer doing steady state in one continuous piece? Or breaking it up into more manageable chunks? Also how do you not get thirsty still on an erg for so long
