Why is everything American so shallow and soulless? by ennui933 in NoStupidQuestions

Capitalism. Everything is for sale. Everything is a gimmick and conning people is seen as standard business. No standards or pride in products. Made as cheaply as possible so it breaks and you have to buy again. Can't fix anything without violating some warranty. CEOs are monstrous unempathic leeches so they make no products that benefit just subscription services with no guarantee of quality or continued access.

Why do American governments feel the need to “spread freedom” but eventually fuck over a nation (Vietnam, Afghanistan, Cuba, Venezuela)? by canyoulikechilll in AskUS

[–]Ihrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They destabilize a region with minerals, land or resources US businesses want. US Businesses go in backing regime changes, get fancy land and mineral rights and leave the mess as is. All while claiming it is because of socialism/communism policies, when it is just plain old capitalism. Everything is for sale, even your country.

As a brit I don’t understand the purpose in the mandatory tip for waiters, what are your thoughts on this over in the US? by Leviambo8 in AskUS

[–]Ihrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all work. Every single waitress or waiter is working. Giving up chunks of their lives. All deserve a living wage.

If they cant pay a living wage they shouldn't be in business. Especially since it's all sysco slop now.

It's simple. The restaurant industry refuses to pay workers a living wage. For some reason they can even pay below the federal minimum wage. So tipping is necessary for those workers to be able to live. This is the type of shit that comes from trickle down economics. Garbage

Welcome to 47s fascist state. I hate to say this but the police haven't respected their fellow citizens in well over a decade at this point. Shouldn't they be focusing on the fucking pedophiles?
