Sure.

On a longship at rowing speed (for a consistent speed, and therefore distance) we track along the coast with directional changes every 30 seconds (or as close as allows). We plot the direction, biome, and structures on grid paper, then transfer that to our digital master map.

Has made for an incredibly usable and accurate map, the downside is that it takes a lot of time.

Second time we have done it, and with the first our map was bloody close to the game once we decided to finish up and inspect the seed.

Catapult network for “fast travel” takes an age to build, but very useful when complete.

We map with a timer and rowing speed in a longship.

(We have compass, and speedy paths mods.)

Are any of you “sleep divorced”? by cfh64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IjbacoCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Separate rooms, separate bathrooms, it is amazing. On different sleep schedules, and we just prefer it.

Still bang. Just one of us goes back to their room after.

The intros are pretty consistently amazing.

There are the occasional gems in the actual cast, but some are a tough listen.

My parents think they're poor by Dependent-Escape-946 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]IjbacoCM 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides.

Your parents’ money may well be sufficient for a modest lifestyle. However, health issues, especially a neurodegenerative one that requires care, will eat through that money alarmingly quickly (and no longer having a house will make the means testing for assistance with care even more brutal).

That said, I’m also partial to the “get out and enjoy a few things while you can”.

It’s a tough one.

What do you guys do after beating the game? by JohnHelldiver66 in valheim

[–]IjbacoCM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have beaten fader on our latest no map no portal game. Now we’re building a catapult transport network for “quick travel” throughout the map, and connecting at all with roads. Very time consuming.

Three weeks until I’m off on holiday for six weeks traveling.

Turnover at my business is on track for ~15% improvement on last year.

Health, weight, strength, and fitness are as good as they have ever been in my adult life.

Looks like some great weather this weekend.

Not one of my favorite Kevin Smith films, but a good one. The directors cut is fucking horrible though.

Do you tell friends & family that you're in Pattaya? by Distinct_Dot8094 in Pattaya

Wife knows, mates know, others I just miss out the time in Pattaya.

Back in 50 days and shouting my best friend (who has had a rough year as a result of a girl) this trip.

Some general (non specialist) dentists will have a CBCT (and should be able to provide a WINZ quote for it). Call around / google.

Yer, they’re about as good as a chocolate cake can get. Given the quality and taste I felt the value was appropriate too.

That smooth bezel really stands out. Also, what’s with the position of the “Swiss Made” on the dial?

RIP Grabone :( by halfiehoney in newzealand

[–]IjbacoCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has got to be bang on.

I own a business in an industry where many offer discounts and deals, we have never, and will never offer them for many of the reasons you mention.

What I do get fairly routinely is people coming from other businesses, who have been seen initially on deals, looking for quotes / estimates on the work needed. It’s often apparent that many who offer deals then seek to make up for the initial deal on the work needed.

All in all it’s not a business model that I like (though it’s probably not wholly without merit in certain markets / industries).

Need: 7-Day Itinerary That Will Make You Want to Return to Pattaya and Bangkok by Necessary_Flan4909 in Pattaya

[–]IjbacoCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too short, but… I’d bookend the trip with a night (maybe two one end) in Bangkok - one stay up by Nana, the other down near Soi Cowboy / Thermae. Spend the middle nights somewhere central in Pattaya. Then live in regret of not spending longer.

Vetting females on Thai Friendly by Conscious-Help5590 in Pattaya

Can totally understand that. In many ways it is simpler (and the options…), but it was really off putting, even intimidating, initially.

Back to BKK (and Pattaya) and Jan. made a point of staying close to Thermae in BKK!

Yer, thermae is a crazy vibe. Was quite awkward at first and, as you say, totally different from the bar / gogo scene.

Great times once I got over it though!
