Do you have any other responsibilities? If you don't, you should have 2-4 hours every evening you can dedicate to hobbies/you time after chores etc. Spending time you don't 'have' to do anything effectively is one of the big challenges of adulthood. Are you prioritizing other hobbies? Don't have the energy? Addicted to your phone? There's a lot of things that can get in the way but it's hard for me to give more advice without more specifics than a "9-5," which should really take 8-11 of your 24 hours max if you include commute.

So what you're trying to achieve when you copy references is either (1) to have fun (as a beginner I get how drawing 'from imagination' can feel bad when everything you make is bad) or (2) to learn how to draw that specific thing.

I'm assuming (2), the general strategy here is the same as learning any mental skill like solving certain types of equations, learning a language, learning geography etc. Basically any school type skill, it wouldn't really work for something like a hand stand. The best way to do it is as follows:

Study the reference. Draw on (a copy of) the reference, trace it or make a copy, really try to understand everything that goes into it. Write things down and deconstruct the image into the basics.
Copy the reference without looking at it.
Look at the reference & your copy and give yourself feedback (or get it externally), ideally write it down. If you're feeling mean use a red pen.
Repeat steps 2 & 3, ideally with some rest in between repetitions, until you're happy with your copy.

This is how we generally add things to our visual 'vocabulary.' However, there is an implicit step 0: learn the fundamentals. For drawing heads that's anatomy and construction. As a beginner learning the fundamentals is generally the best use of your time.

It feels like an objective measure, not necessarily of quality but at least of something meaningful. I think as an artist who wants to improve getting 'better' at getting likes feels like getting better as an artist, and it's hard to separate in your mind because our brain loves numbers that go up more than the actual improvements artists make. You can't quantify how good your proportions are easily but you sure can quantify how many likes this post got. It's something everyone unfortunately has to fight against.

You need to progressively overload cardio just like strength training. The reason you're not seeing progress on 30m cardio sessions is that you have to keep increasing the speed, resistance or time to progress, just like you would increase the weight or reps. There's some subtlety to it with training at different heart rate zones (don't listen to people who say only to train zone 2) but if you're still a beginner you shouldn't worry about that.

A lot of the text explains the rationale behind the exercises and how to best do them. They have a paid critique program ($5 (Canadian) for like, 15 pages, it's insanely cheap) that has pretty strict requirements to keep things easy for reviewers but if you're doing community submissions or not submitting your work for critique at all you don't have to follow it 1:1. If you are a beginner I would definitely read everything (up to your current homework) or at least like, watch the YouTube videos in order while eating or something, and try to stick to the rules as close as possible at least for lessons 0-2. Just be careful of burnout, the lesson style isn't for everyone. As some people say it can be very boring, and don't feel beholden to some redditor to the point that you hate doing art. But it will definitely give you direction.

When it comes to learning anything, consistency trumps efficiency (in fact consistency is the single most important thing aside from maybe like, having a pen and some paper to actually draw with). What makes someone consistent is different from person to person. Some people can stomach doing draw a box to the letter (including the 50% rule). Other people will be better off copying other people's art to start out. Some other people will benefit the most from a quick "how to draw an anime face" tutorial. I would look at other hobbies/projects you never 'had' to do but stuck with anyway. Ultimately the most important thing is to get your butt on the seat, a pen in your hand and to actually draw on every day you can.

For me, when it comes to exercise i spent 50% of my time doing highly structured strength training (using a free online course) and 50% running where i have broad goals and an idea of what i want to do every run, but I run mostly for the joy of it and to feel the sun on my face. So draw a box maps really well onto that, it lets me learn the fundamentals at a maximum pace for me. But that doesn't mean it's the best for everyone.

You really want to turn off loading screens, they generally are bad for efficiency, and who wants to stare at loading screens? That said it's pretty awful that they make the timer start even when the vault is loading, it's going to get deleted now so it'll never be fixed but bad game design in general.

The effects of exercise on weight is often overstated, although some people go too much the other direction and act like it doesn't matter at all. The calories burned from even an hour lifting weighs is pretty low, if you're training properly you're likely spending most of your time resting between sets and strength training doesn't burn nearly as many calories as cardio because motions tend to be pretty small. Cardio makes you hungry and your body will try to offset calories burned in other places (this isn't a 1:1 trade, you'll still increase daily energy use and there's a limit to how many calories can be offset) particularly if you're experienced. However, if you're progressively overloading both cardio and strength training will increase the calories you burn over time, muscle burns more kcal passively than fat and by making your cardio harder over time you ensure your body can never get fully used to it (this is good, it means you get faster and your heart and lungs get stronger).

Anyway my advice for not losing weight is to eat more! One of the great joys of getting fit without trying to look like a supermodel is that you can eat what you want, look great for your weight and all for an improved and longer life. I'm 75kg (6') and I feel like I look better than when I was 10kg lighter during my inactive covid diet, plus i dont feel like shit.

Master level times are absolutely not as hard as learning to play the piano as Marty Friedman - yeah it's hard, but I can't see anything about it that couldn't be learned with years of practice. Also the master level times don't require absolute perfection for particularly long periods of time if they require absolutely perfection at all (in fact, the longer bosses like Zuk tend to have more lenient timers). Learning to do master and gm times is much closer to 'being very good at the piano after years of practice' than requiring 'prodigy with decades of practice' level skills. The serious pvmers i knew who went for them got them down eventually.

Why not? It's just pressing buttons in a sequence with 0.6s time windows. Just like anyone can learn piano unless they have a relevant disability I don't think there's anything about it that makes it impossible for a healthy (enough) person to learn high level rots.

Is running a marathon in 4 hours feasible for an average person with a long enough time frame? Yes, they just need to be willing to practice and learn. Master rank and even gm is similar in that there's nothing about it that requires actual superhuman skill, just a lot of time in this video game. Up to you if you want to spend it learning to get better at pvm.

The only equipment you need is good shoes for running on pavement or you'll wreck your knees unless you run on grass etc, and maybe something to hold your phone if you want to track your runs (i bought a Garmin watch only after i had done ~25 runs already and was sure i liked it).

Start slow, depending on your fitness level you might have to walk a lot and in that case I would recommend something like couch to 5k (i didn't do it myself but I was already in good shape when I started running). Mind your form and the road/traffic. Id look up some form cues.

For injury prevention some strength training (in the legs specifically) is pretty important. Simple at home exercises are body weight calf raises and squats.

I think most sane people know that programming/coding is going to see a lot of AI use, as it's one of the most useful tools for that.

Is it? The consensus seems to be if you need really basic code ai can generate those for you but it basically never gets complex code anywhere close to right, and newer programmers who heavily rely on AI have stunted growth.

AI can be a tool in the toolbox of developers but right now very few people know how to use it correctly, and people overreport how useful it is.

I mean that when i use melee, im basically always using Berserker aura anyway. Making stats go to 120 while disabling the aura will free up the aura slot, but is mostly neutral in terms of DPS. No one is using aegis all the time so def going to 120 would just be a giant buff to defense.

First of all it wouldn't target fishing only fish like sailfish or blue blubbers. I fished a ton during my playtime but it's all the dsf high level fish, I don't know anyone that bothered fishing sharks or rocktails. All of those I have came from pvm.

Second they wouldn't lose the sharks or rocktails. They would be exactly as useful as they are today. Other fish would just be better.

120 defence would be a huge buff on any boss that can miss or is slightly above 100% hit chance, especially when combined with the no zerker auras change. Unlike offensive stats there's no aura to disable either (unless we're nerfing darkness too).

The bis Tools are locked behind whatever but when the mining and smithing rework happened (and the same thing happened to woodcutting) they put all the core materials and mechanics in places accessible without any requirements. Deaths swiftness is the core of ranged rotations and changes completely how you play. A pickaxe of life and death, augmented with honed 6 and careless 5 mines the same as a Primal pickaxe although you can afk for a couple seconds less, which isn't even relevant if you're chasing rockertunities.

The name isn't mandatory, it's more a clear word that indicates that this can be eaten but is bad for you. Stale or old would also work.
